An investigator who knows tragic loss firsthand, and his new client, missing far too long…Abducted at the age of sixteen and coerced into assisting the Jacoby crime family, Shannon Bliss has finally found a way out. She desperately wants to resume some semblance of normal life, but she also knows she has some unfinished business to attend to. She might have enough evidence to put her captors … her captors behind bars for a very long time.
When Shannon contacts private investigator Matthew Dane, a former cop, to help her navigate her reentry into society, he quickly discovers that gaining her freedom doesn’t mean her troubles are over. If the Jacoby family learns she is still alive, they’ll stop at nothing to silence her.
If justice is to be done, and if Shannon’s life is ever to get on track again, Matthew will need to discover exactly what happened to her–even if it means stirring up a hornet’s nest of secrets.

Dee Henderson always turns out an excellent book. Love any of her stories. Write faster Dee. I can’t wait for your next book.
Sad, but realistic. Encouraged me to have more concern for children who have been “Taken”
This is one of her best it haunted me when I was not reading it I wanted answers to certain questions and I didn’t get them all because that was the plot that she wrote and in the end I didn’t want or need the answers.
Be prepared to be surprised with all the plot interplay’s and twists and turns.
This will be one of the best books you have read in a long long time.
One of my absolute favorite authors!
I loved the unpredictable story of Shannon’s abduction. It kept me up late reading to see what she would reveal of her time in captivity next.
Dee writes excellent books
It was a bit intense at times, but worth reading.

Will keep you on the edge of your seat, other great read by Dee Henderson

This is part of the description. Buy this book is so much more. The relationship between Shannon and Dane grows beyond and the both depend on each other regardless of the age difference.
The connection of characters, reoccurrence of characters from other Dre Henderson books make it so much more. Absolutely love this book. But then she is one of my favorites and I really have never found something I don’t like by her.
I am an advid Dee Henderson fan (so far I’ve read 18 of her books) but the book “Taken” is actually one of my all-time favorite book by any author. It was so sensitive and informative, explaining in such detail what might occur given these circumstances. I really appreciated the research that obviously went into writing this book. Thank you so much!
I5 was good
EASY TO READ.
Henderson is always on my must read list. Taken was a dark subject with a character who in a bad situation Chose to thrive spiritually and survive in the only way she could. Was a interesting book but took me several days to read, had to take breaks from the darkness in it. Would recommend reading this book
I love Dee Henderson. Her books are wonderful. My only complaint is I’ve read them all!
I liked this book, did not want it to end.
This is one of those books you don’t want to put down, and I was having a busy week! Couldn’t wait to pick it up again! All of Dee’s books are good, but this one is particularly outstanding. A must read!
