From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan comes a new story in her Fractured Connections series… It all started at a wedding. Beckham didn’t mean to dance with Meadow. And he really didn’t mean to kiss her. But now, she’s the only thing on his mind. And when it all comes down to it, she’s the only person he can’t have. He’ll just have to stay away from her, no matter … from her, no matter how hard they’re pulled together.
Running away from her friend’s wedding isn’t the best way to keep the gossip at bay. But falling for the mysterious and gorgeous bartender at her friends’ bar will only make it worse. Beckham has his secrets, and she refuses to pry.
Once burned, twice kicked down, and never allowed to get up again. Yet taking a chance with him might be the only choice she has. And the only one she wants.
For fans of Carrie Ann’s Fractured Connections series, Taken With You is book four in that series.

Perfect new life novella
I really enjoyed this 1001 Dark Nights Novella which detailed a new start to life for two separate people that just happened to come out of the same MC. They didn’t know each other at the time they were involved in the Motorcycle Club but both of them got out of the life in their own way and ended up in the same place. Each has their own story and wants to keep it a secret.
Meadow grew up in the MC life as the daughter of an MC President. She lived a charmed life as an MC princess when she was younger but as she started to grow older, her fathers club go more into guns and drugs and her father started to beat her mother, and her mother began taking it out on her with body image issues. They eventually basically sold her to Coby, the son of a rival MC and she was considered his property.
At first she thought she was in love with him but he abused her more and more, even going so far as to share her with other members of the club. She eventually got out and put herself through college and now has friends. She attends the wedding of one of her friends and is asked to dance by a man named Beckham who used to be in the same MC as Coby and knew of Meadow. He is attracted to her but doesn’t reveal he knows about her past and doesn’t tell her about his past.
Beckham and Meadow begin to date and like each other and the romance is steamy but they are heading for a fall Because they have a shared past that neither is telling each other about. I really enjoyed the story. It was sweet and steamy and had all the right parts.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
He knows they are both running from their past, she only know she is but when their past comes back to haunt them can the love they’ve found survive….whew, hawt, steamy, heart breaking and bittersweet!!
It is finally Meadow and Beckham’s turn. Meadow’s story is one of heartbreak and resilience. Beckham is a man trying hard to atone for what he did in his past life. One dance changed everything for them but the past tries hard to keep them apart. Great novella wrapping these characters up. 4.5/5
Oh my gosh I love Beckham & Meadow!! Carrie Ann Ryan wrote them and amazing story. My heart was in my throat through most of this book trying to figure out what their secrets were, and it was so worth it to be glued to each page to find out. A definite must read!!
Great characters and an interesting story, plus lots of steam!
Great to see them get their happily ever after
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Who knew that a simple kiss can change everything.
That is what happened to Beckham.
He was minding his own business, and Bam, he was knocked over by a kiss.
Meadow has not immune to that kiss either.
Now, what are Meadow and Beckham to do ?
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Beckham and Meadow had me intrigued every time they were mentioned in the other couples books. They were that couple that I always wondered about. I was so happy when we got to read their story. They have both gone through a tough time that could have broken them and instead they came out on the other side. Watching them fall in love was so gratifying and I loved their story!
This is the fourth in the series it’s Beckham and Meadows story. They both have a past hidden neither wishes to share but the damage done to them won’t go away they still have the scars from their past lives. Beckham is the bartender for the Connellys and has been working for them for awhile. Meadow works on editing and making textbooks but enjoys keeping to herself because it’s safer that way. The two of them felt a pull towards the other for a long time but refuse to act because nothing good can come from it only hurt, pain and fear for the other person.
Overall I loved the story I loved how we get to understand why the characters are the way they are. What their past has done to them and how they have learned to overcome what they were dealt. It’s a wonderful complete story and Beckham and Meadow are amazing! Definitely a must read!
4.35 stars
From the beginning Beckham and Meadow have had a connection to a shared past that each one wanted to forget. When the two attended the wedding of mutual friends, their attraction was not able to be denied any longer and Beckham did what he longed to do. Skittish and fearful, Meadow allowed Beckham’s advances as she could not deny herself. As the two grow closer, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel until the past comes roaring in unexpectedly. Will these two be able to have a “normal” relationship or will the past rip them apart? This is the fourth book in the Fractured Connections series and it can be read as a standalone although I recommend reading the prior books to get to know the other characters in the story. Ms. Ryan has written an engaging storyline although a little repetitive when it comes to Beckham and Meadow respectively referring to their pasts for the first few chapters. As the story progresses, one cannot help but cheer these two on to find their happily ever after. I look forward to reading what this author has coming next. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
An intriguing romance in the Fractured Connections series and the wonderful world of the hunky Connolly men and their fabulous women. Gal pal Meadow with the mystery background and a bit of a hermit is hiding from her painful past. The Connolly’s hunky bartender, Beckham has a connection with Meadow and his own past he’s hiding from everyone. Beck finally gives in to his desire for Meadow but hides their connection. They have steamy chemistry and Meadow decides to try to live a normal life with Beck. Soon their past reappears to threaten their growing relationship. It tears them apart and the question is can they get past it to have a life together. I haven’t read all the books in this series and I think I miss out on some background of Beckman and Meadow. These quick stories sometimes don’t give enough time to really flesh out the characters and their story. I enjoy this author’s writing and stories but this one left me wanting more. I loved the flashes of the Connollys and their fabulous family. I can’t wait for Dillon’s story. Such a cute young man!
Taken With You begins with everyone from the Fractured Connections series attending Brendon and Harmony’s wedding. Beckham finds himself trying to not look at Meadow, but finds himself almost helpless when it comes to her. Meadow is in the same boat. She tries to keep her distance, but when Beckham asks her to dance, she plans to say no, but accepts much to her surprise. As the two of them dance, their attraction to each other can’t be denied by either of them. Both have solid reasons why to stay away from each other, but when Beckham suddenly kisses her, and she kisses him back and immediately runs away, they both vow to themselves to stay away.
A few days later, Beckham sees Meadow in the bar with their mutual friends. Again, he is not going to approach her, nor she him. However, when she goes to the restroom and runs into Beckham, the sparks fly. Even though they are both wary of the other for various reasons, they start down the path of seeing where this thing between them will go. When closely held secrets come to light, on both sides, each of them thinks that there is no going back and that they can’t be together. Until they both realize how truly ‘taken’ they are with each other.
Taken With You is a great addition to the series. Both characters have been in the background throughout the entire series. Beckham is the bartender at the Connolly’s bar and Meadow is friends with the Connolly women. We find out very early in Taken With You that Beckham knows who Meadow is, but she doesn’t know him. They both have backstories that intertwined and they both broke free from that life. Once the truth came out, you truly felt for both of them, but Meadow’s history will leave you a little heartbroken. Add to that the fact that she has truly been on her own and made her own way endears her even more to the reader. The chemistry between the two of them is scorching and raw. Taken With You is ultimately a story of redemption and self-awareness that leaves you wishing for more. Well done, Carrie Ann Ryan! Very well done!
I have thoughts but I just finished a few hours ago so standby but I will say that fractured, no pun intended but maybe lol, is a very appropriate word to describe this book, in my opinion. But later …
I’m not going into a lot of my thoughts on this story because, the story did not work for me at all and who needs all that negativity in their lives. It could very well be a case of it is me and not the story, but my biggest problem wasn’t about liking this or that, it was that I was utterly lost for over 45% of the story. I don’t think that’s a me thing but maybe *shrug*
So, I didn’t like that feeling. It was borderline despair. Before the big reveal on who these two were in the past there were constant references back to this past but never in a concrete way that lets the reader know anything. That just frustrated me to no end, and it took me out of the story and I just didn’t understand it.
There’s an emotional story/journey here. I am sure of it. Because I read to the end, so it is there, buried deep. Too deep for me to say that I liked this book. *shrug*
Beckham and Meadow have had a long standing attraction they both tried to ignore. I love the way their story came together! Both with a past they wanted to hide and escape from. But then one day they get just a hint of their past, just enough to push them into grabbing onto the future they always wanted! You are going to love this one!
Meadow has a past she’s keeping secret, she’s worked hard to go forward and looking back is never good.
Beckham on the other hand, knows of Meadow’s past and because of it he knows he should stay away from her. Unfortunately his willpower seems to go straight to hell where she is concerned.
It all starts at Brendon and Harmony’s wedding, it should only have been a dance, but then against his better judgement, Beckham kisses Meadow.
The Connolly’s are a tight knit group and it’s obvious on every page that Meadow and Beckham are part of that.
I love Dillon’s insight into affairs of the heart, in spite of his youth. I giggled more than once at his humor and advice to those older than him.
Plenty of surprises for everyone involved, with laughter, tears, and some sizzling heat.
I really have to get caught up on series before the next one comes out.
I loved reading Meadow and Beckham’s story. I have been curious about the two of them throughout the rest of the Fractured Connections series and was excited when I heard that we would get their story. Meadow is such a complex character, she only shares what she chooses with the rest of the world and I was happy to see her become more open with her friends as well as Beckham. I was surprised at the secrets that Beckham was keeping because he always seemed to have such an open and outgoing personality with everyone. The journey from their first kiss to the potential of together for the rest of their lives was so intriguing. I loved reading this whole book.
Carrie Ann has teased us with Beckham and Meadow from the start, and the actual thing is SOOOO worth it. Both characters have been a bit of a mystery and it’s no wonder with their past it’s a doozy. While it’s not my favorite it’s still a really emotional, heart wrenching, satisfying read and it’s just a novella. Beckham is the bearded silent type (my favorite) and Meadow is not really shy but quiet and keeps to herself for the most part and with what she’s hiding from I don’t blame her. From the start of the series you could tell they would make a great couple and this story just proves it. It was a nice little story to tide me over until Dillon’s book which is going to be a while.
A tale of the past and the future colliding with the present.
Sometimes you just have to grab what you want!
Beckham knew he should stay away but that taste. That brief moment. He was a goner.
Meadow is hiding. Hiding from her past and hiding from her future. Both are hot on her heels.
Beckham had me at “I want”. He was so honest with himself it was attractive as all. He knew the risks but he also knew who haunted his every moment. Meadow was tired of hiding from the past. Before her was a chance. She knew it probably would end badly but for the now she would indulge.
This is a stand-alone novella based on two characters from the Fractured Connections series. Easy to read heartfelt romance.
A sweet journey that left me wanting to know more about the supporting cast. Some of them are an absolute riot.
I will be adding this series to my TBR list.

A stay-cation that will leave lasting memories.
Beckham and Meadow are attracted to each, but they both have secrets in their past that neither thinks they can share.. or even get past. When their secrets get out, will they come together? Or push each other further away?
An interesting novella in the Fractured Connections series. It’s technically the 4th book in the series, but I believe it can be read as a standalone.
I received a copy of this book from Inkslingr PR. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.
If you haven’t read Carrie’s Fractured Connections Series then the 1001 Dark Nights series is a great way to be introduced and you will honestly want to go back and read them.
This is such a beautiful story of getting a new start, putting the past behind them. I loved Beckham and Meadow, their connection was intense and palpable. In each other their found their peace, their home. They just need to see if they can survive the past coming knocking.
It was lovely seeing the Connolly brothers again and their feisty women. This novella was a brilliant addition to this emotional series
