Love reading Annabelle’s books but although it didn’t grab me as much as the others I’ve read it was still a good read. The characters were great & the hot sexual chemistry between Amy & Angus was off the charts when the first met at his Aunts house for Thanksgiving dinner. He was fresh out of prison after 10yrs & she had been abandoned for the holidays by her mum & they gave into their pent up desires in the kitchen that made you need a fan to cool down. It had so much going on secrets, revenge, sex, loveups & downs galore it made your head spin & I would still recommend it.

Amy’s mother canceled their thanksgiving celebration because she didn’t want her new boyfriend to know that she had a 33 year old daughter. Amy was telling her neighbor, Mrs. Rafferty, about it and she was invited to have Thanksgiving with them – as long as Amy cooks the turkey since Mrs. “Raff” didn’t cook.
Mrs. Raff’s nephew is getting out of prison where he has been for the past 10 years, so she invited him to come too since Amy was cooking for them. At dinner, Angus can’t stop staring at Amy. His flirtatious comment makes her blush as she thinks about his muscles.
The story seems to go crazy at this point when the insta-love takes place. I’m not sure I can even describe it all in a way that makes sense. There are babies, Angus’ aunt trying to get his grandmother’s wedding ring from him at gunpoint, more prison, etc. There are more than just twists and turns – this story line does a few corkscrews, I think!
Amy is to be commended for her loyalty to Angus. And there is no denying the chemistry between the two of them. There’s lots of cursing, for those who think those words make a story sound naughtier. I think, with a few glasses of wine, I may even have followed the story line better and probably would have laughed or giggled. Regardless, this is a book you’ll love or hate – just don’t try to take it too seriously.
Amy’s mother cancels their holidays plans when she gets a new boyfriend. When Amy gets home her elderly neighbor invites her over for Thanksgiving. Angus is just released from prison and goes to his aunt’s place for the holiday and meets Amy. Sparks fly between them and Angus plans to claim her for his own. However his aunt and uncle had other plans and try to kill them. Things take a bad turn and Angus ends up being arrested again. Will they ever get to be together? Will they be free of the threat from his family?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I received this book as a gift of an advanced reading copy and having finished reading the book I would like to give an honest opinion of what I read.
For me reading this story was like putting together a puzzle without a picture to follow along with, and when you finished there are some pieces still missing. The plot of the story was good but it had so much potential to being a great story. We are introduced right off the Amy and her disagreement with her own mom the days before Thanksgiving. Her then going across the street to talk to her neighbor and gets invited to her house for Thanksgiving. She is to bake the turkey. Angus has spent ten years in prison and is now getting out. You never find out that why he was in prison. He decides to go to his Aunts house for Thanksgivings once he see the letter from her as he gets his belongings. The next thing I know it is Thanksgiving Amy is cooking and falling for this very handsome man that is Aunt Raff’s nephew. Then from there the story goes sideways. It took me a while to piece it back together again and things started come together. At the end of the story though I was left with so many unanswered questions. It is a great story of love, but I wish that it had more meat to it and I know that Annabella is a fantastic writer and that she could have done more with it.
This is an entirely all-encompassing, dramatic tale full of familial dysfunctional relationships. At times it got somewhat complicated and hard to follow. I did get anxious over whether the outcome was going to be satisfying at all since there was so much bad luck happening. Wild story.

Worth the wait for love to come and begin a life with Amy and Angus. Wow this was a crazy book. It sure had time lapses that was something to think about I had to do the math. Anyway there was an HEA and characters that were comical and ruthless. Almost like the one with the , which book was that?, “The CEO and the Soldier”. Where there was someone who was trying to kill the CEO and the soldier was there to protect her. OK I digress but anyway, the story takes twist interns or the unexpected ending. For this couple the Extended HEA was definitely worth the wait. After this reading thanksgiving will never be the same.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Amy was supposed to spend Thanksgiving with her mother.
Amy’s mother decided to spend Thanksgiving with her new boyfriend.
Now Amy is spending Thanksgiving with her neighboors.
Also present is the nephew.
You will have to read the book to know what happens next.
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Good but unrealistic
I liked the beginning, with his characters so different, including Angus, who just spent 10 years in prison. But then, what seemed like a pretty realistic story, becomes less plausible. The plot between Angus and his family is good, but likewise, sometimes the reactions of the enemies of Angus and Amy are surprisingly ineffective, or the reactions of the police seem ineffective. So, the history seems less credible.

It was an okay read. So much story crammed into so few pages. It often left me feeling a bit confused and overwhelmed with what was going on. A curvy girl is invited to thanksgiving dinner and meets an ex-convict fresh out of jail. Within minutes she’s his, next thing they’re hostages, next thing they’re arrested and she’s pregnant. It’s all a bit much.

This is one strange story. I have by now read quite a few by this author and this one seems as it could be written by someone else… I at least did not connect with this one in no way what so ever and what was worse I did not really enjoy reading this story. As much as I have liked many prior stories by this author, but I am still giving it three stars as it certainly has a storyline and is quite well written at least grammatically.

This was just an OK read for me. This book is an instalove romance filled with intense emotions, epic tons of drama and more over the top-ness than even I could comfortably swallow. I can do OTT but when the train starts pulling into cray-cray town it is time to disembark.
Annabelle Winters has truly mastered insta love storytelling. She knows how to get you involved with the characters as quickly as the characters fall in love and find themselves in some very hot and steamy scenarios. It is not a bad thing that you know what to expect in terms of the relationship. The over the top circumstances and the relatable characters keep you engaged.
In Taken At Thanksgiving, Angus and Amy meet through what seems like a very innocent invitation from Amy’s neighbor, Mrs. Raff. She also happens to be Angus’ aunt. Lots of unexpected action occurs after the introductions and continues. Amy is quite the resilient woman who stands by her man and is not afraid to take matters into her own hands. Angus is a man with a dark past. He is also a fierce protector of those that he loves, even if he fell in love with them after one meeting. Rooting for this couple was easy.
She met him at her neighbors house. She fell for him fast. He just got out of prison..He decided to make her his.

The pages flew by for me. It’s a hot one. Even though it’s a novella, I felt the characters were well developed and likeable. The story is very well-written. It’s a novella without feeling rushed. Loved it.

Insta love, with twists and turns that you dont see coming. But boy oh boy is this one worth reading, its definately hot. Angus, one man that has been in prison has finally been released, and not knowing where to go to, sees a letter inviting him to Thanksgiving from his Aunt. Not having much to do, he goes over, and he sees Amy, instantly his body has a reaction, knowing just what he wants to do to her, she is his. Amy busy checking on the dinner when she feels him behind her.. she wants him as much as he wants her…but before the night is out revelations come about and the twists start…. oh yea,,,, just love this…
A book not to be missed… Definately worth 5 star.
I was really surprised by this story, very different from all the other stories by Annabelle Winters, this is a tale of an instant love which takes over three years before Angus and Amy are able to be together after making mad passionate love in the kitchen on thanksgiving day, only to be held at gun point by his aunt and uncle while they were still naked. Then taken to prison for a crime they didn’t commit and kept apart through greed and jealousy. But they eventually have their happily ever after.

Annabelle Winters is simply wonderful. I received this book as an ARC, and I simply devoured it. The notion that it was no charge was simply a bonus and did not impact this review in the slightest.
The characters in this book were so clear and honest (well, some were honest ). Angus was strong, determined, skilled, focused, PROTECTIVE, loving, kind-hearted (in a hardened sort of way) and very family focused. Amy, as an only child, was a bit of a loner, self-sufficient, determined, protective, strong, and equally as determined as Angus. The aunt and uncle were just odd. You just need to form your own opinions there!
When Angus and Amy met there was immediate chemistry. Noone at dinner expected such a connection – least of all Amy. When events unfolded as they did though, Amy knew that she would fight forever for Angus and their family. Doing everything they were told, and still getting shafted was just too much! Too much for anyone to take.
Get your copy today and gind out what lengths Amy, and her “judgemental” mother go to in order to find Amy’s HEA. Even then, does she get to keep it…get to actually enjoy this HEA? Don’t wait to find out!
This is my first read by Annabelle and I am saddened to say I was a little disappointed. This story was all over the place and very fast paced. You didn’t really get to know any of the characters before you are slapped in the face with some very hot sex and then a semi truck ton of drama. At least the story had a happily ever after – but even that was a little questioning.

Amy gets the shaft from her Mom over Thanksgiving and ends up at her neighbor’s, Mrs. Raff, for dinner.
Angus is just released from prison, after serving a 10 year sentence (for what?…you never know). When he goes thru his things, he sees a letter from his Aunt (guess who) inviting him for to spend Thanksgiving with her.
Angus is instantly in love with Amy, they proceed to make some babies in the kitchen of his Aunt’s house, and then his crazy Aunt is pulling a gun on him and Amy.
Needless to say, the sh*t hits the fan and it is all over a ring that was given to Angus by his Grandmother. Him and Amy defend themselves, he ends up back up in prison for 3 more years, babies were born, and Amy faithfully waits for him while he was serving his time.
After his parole is denied, Amy’s Mom help her break him out of prison and they leave the country. After so many years and another run in with Angus’s crazy Aunt, him and Amy are able to get their happily ever after.

I receives a free copy of the steamy novella Taken on Thanksgiving By Annabelle Winters and this review was given freely.
An ironic and twisted timely seasonal story to rival one of the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” series holiday gatherings.
When Amy’s mother chooses her new live in boyfriend over her at Thanksgiving, Amy accepts an invitation from her matchmaking eccentric neighbor Mrs. Rafferty to cook Thanksgiving for them where Amy meets the recently released from prison Australian born nephew Angus

this was a really good read, a different holiday romance. insta love, with danger, suspense and sexual tension. i loved the different storyline. the criminal and the shy curvy girl next door, or across the street. a thanksgiving meal no one could she the outcome of and the story followed through over years to bring about an amazing hea. great book.
