The wily changeling has gotten so deep under my skin that I can’t breathe without feeling her. Her smart mouth is a constant temptation, our salty banter like rough kisses in a darkened room. My thoughts are broken, and I can admit that I’m obsessed. That’s why I’ve been keeping Beth at a distance. I don’t trust myself around her. Not when I can see her wounded soul in her eyes even when she’s … laughing. Her flippant words hide a pain that goes so deep I doubt I’ll ever find its bottom. She has lived her life in chains. How can I begin to understand what she’s been through? I want to so badly that it consumes me. I want to hold her, to promise her she is safe in the winter realm with me. But I shouldn’t. I could get so lost in her that I would forsake my fated mate, one I’ve been waiting on for centuries. So, I create a set of rules and stick by them. I avoid her and bury myself in preparations for the winter realm’s new queen. It’s working. . . At least it was until I felt the mate bond snap into place. All my rules splinter when I realize Beth is mine. And when she’s taken from me? I will crush the pillars of Arin to get her back.
Lily’s Note: Taken is Book 5 of the Fae’s Captive Series and begins Gareth’s and Beth’s story.

Expected and read with pleasure !
Beth passed out on a bedroom sofa. She drank too much.
She is awakened by the noise and the antics of the couple of her friends Taylor and Leander.
No one notices, Beth run away laughing…
Still half-frunk, she’s looking for a man, any man since Gareth doesn’t want her…

Here is the welcome and long awaited sequel to the dangerous adventures of Taylor, Leander, Gareth and Beth.
This volume can be read quite independantly of the first four since a new series begins like this.
Too short but fascinating reading, read all at once.
A cocktail of action, suspense, humour/irony and romance…
A series to discover
Taken by Lily Archer is book 5 in the Fae’s Captive Series. This book is the start of Gareth and Beth’s story who met in the previous books. You could make this a standalone book, but I do feel you would enjoy this book better if you read the previous books.
Beth is a human who was attracted to Gareth but his is all work and besides he has to wait for his fated mate. But then Beth is taken and Gareth start to realizes that Beth is his one.
This does end to set us up for their continuing story in the next book.
This is the fifth book I have read from Lily Archer and each one gets better and better. In this book, we find that Gareth’s and Beth’s story continues when she is snatched from the Queen’s ball right under the winter realm’s very nose. Gareth goes wild with emotions when he realizes Beth is his mate. The bond snapping into place after the nights celebration. Her smell permeates and draws him towards the terror that she beholds.

Lily Archer has a knack for turning enimes into lovers while building more and more into the world she has created in the fae realm. Poetic words stitched together like the wounds her characters carry create a wicked landscape of cruelty and beauty.
.
I. CAN. NOT. STOP. READING. Thankfully their tragic lovestory will continue. Here is hoping for a better story line in the next book for Gareth and Beth BUT knowing the way Lily Archer writes after reading five of her books, I know we won’t reach a true love story until we reach the end.

5 stars and a tip of the Nerd Girl hat!

Gareth and Beth are pure entertainment.
Snarky banter and plenty of sexual tension…Beth sure knows how to get what she wants!
I can’t wait to see how they manage to get out of this mess!
INCREDIBLE!!!! Totally on the edge of my seat and NERVES through the entire book!!!! 2 more days til the next one!!! CAN”T WAIT!!! LOVE these characters sooooooo much!!!!
Yet another great addition to this series. I was really looking forward to getting to know Gareth and Beth more since now the story will focus on this couple now. While you do see a return of the grumpy, rule following Gareth it was nice to see another side to him in this book. I really enjoy how well these stories are written that I can find myself picturing exactly what I am reading and falling in love with both Gareth and Beth. Beth too shows her normal self we have come to know in previous books but she also gives us a glimpse of another side of her from her past catching up to her. Overall, these stories are so well done and I keep coming back for more! Once again my only major negative is the cliffhanger endings. I am going to die from not knowing what comes next! I get so entranced by the world she has built and the well-developed characters that I never want the series to end. At least Archer doesn’t make readers wait too long before she released the next book and I for one and looking forward to seeing what’s in store next for Gareth and Beth.
