I’ve tried hard to go straight, and this time I thought I’d got it, thought things would work out for a change. I didn’t reckon on Tony Rossi and his gang…. Why did I have to get myself involved with such low-life again? And then I saw her, and … myself involved with such low-life again?
And then I saw her, and my life would never be the same again. I knew I wanted her there and then, even though I knew I was committing a crime against her. That’s the moment I knew it all had to change, that I had to change if I was ever going to deserve a woman like Janine.
Her dad, on the other hand, has different plans for his daughter’s future, plans that don’t involve me.
Times running out to save her, but I have no job, no money… no hope. Even if I did, what happens when the past catches up to me and she finds out all about me? It’s bound to happen… I can’t build a relationship on a web of lies. Can she ever love a man like me?
Janine
I’m scared, scared as hell of a future that dad has already planned for me, but what can I do? When I meet Ed, I wish things could be different, he’s everything I want in a man… even if he is older than me. He’s strong and handsome, and someone to protect me from men like Tony Rossi… but it all seems so hopeless.
I hate Tony Rossi with a passion, I hate any form of violence, and could never love a man like him… a bully and a small-time gangster.
I felt a strong attachment to Ed from our first meeting… maybe it’s love at first sight, I don’t know… but I know nothing about him. With my dad forever watching me, how will I ever meet up with Ed to find out?
They say that love will find a way, but I don’t see how. Can Ed save me? Is he the one?
*Taken By The Thief is a short, standalone romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.more
Ed is promising himself that he will change his way of life, 40 years he’s been promising himself. As he watches the team that he’s the getaway driver for, he spots the most gorgeous young woman. Rage fills him because the guys he’s working for are scaring her as they rob her. He knows then, he has to protect her and make her his.
Janine is still reeling from being held up, her father has been asking a little off, and she doesn’t know why he insists she go out with Tony. She doesn’t like Tony. But when a man walks into her dad’s store while she is working, she is taken from the first glance, and when he asks her out for coffee – she can’t turn him down. Is this man named Ed going to be her knight in shining armor or her downfall?
I loved this different spin that of story that Flora has written. There is all the alpha male goodness and steam, but the plot is different from the norm and I really enjoyed it. The chemistry between Ed and Janine is explosive, I really liked them both – their happily ever after they got after all that they had been thru is definitely smile worthy. I can’t wait to see what Flora brings next.

This book ended up being not at all what I was expecting going by the title alone. It is a very good older man/younger woman story about Ed and Janine. I really liked the interaction between the main characters and how they were able to resolve the issues they faced to achieve their HEA. I always love having an epilogue after the primary story has been told and Ms. Ferrari gives us those in every book she writes. Yay!! Yay!!

Ed and Janine. Two people who finds themselves in a difficult time in their life. They find one another and the sparks fly. Their chemistry is instant and sweet. They face a few challenging moments on their road to happiness; but in the end it is all worth it!
The books from Flora never disappoint me!

I thought this story was so sweet, although, I think the title of it is a little misleading to readers. The word “Taken” can mean two things – Taken as in “stolen/kidnapped” or Taken as in “captivated by.”
Don’t let the title put you off. It is definitely the SECOND meaning that was intended!
The characters, Ed & Janine were a superb pairing. Ed is down on his luck & Janine is the sweet & innocent woman stuck in a complicated situation.
Together, they find their way to happiness & i really enjoyed following them on their journey.
Well done Flora. I cannot wait for more from you!
A little different
Ed is not the usual lead. That’s not a bad thing. He’s kind of a drifter with no job.
Janine doesn’t want Tony, her pops has plans for her.
Recommend.

This book took on a different theme then most of Flora books as this one has a man with no money, not like most of the males who has money and sees the young woman and can give her anything her hearts desire.
The writing was so good that you could not help but fall in love with the couple. The intentions of the father to sell his daughter to get himself out of trouble was a hard pill to swallow, totally unforgivable in my eyes. But this thief Ed has a bigger heart and is willing to do so for the sake of his woman…

A bit different than I am used to read by FF, but still enjoyed it. Wanted a bit more of chemistry and suspence. Nice storyline and plot. Missed the steamy parts that FF always has in her books. Characters well defined but the Hero was a bit plan and I missed more character to him. He needed more male in him to make it all happen. It was short but felt long at times because of the repeating stages.
Nice and entertaining read.
A fantastic fast pace older man younger woman romance! The story line is well-developed, emotionally deep, well written, and steamy with drama, intrigue, and suspense. Likeable characters; their chemistry is instant and off the charts! Definitely recommended!

The author has again given us an older man/younger woman romance. When Ed sees Janine for the first time, he knows she needs to belong to him. He will do anything to protect her and that may be his undoing.

Janine is not looking forward to the future her father has planned for her. When she meets Ed she instantly falls for him even though he’s older than her and she doesn’t know much about him! Ed takes one look at Janine and knows she’s his, he will do whatever it takes to make her his! Only will she feel the same when she finds out about his past? Another great book by Flora Ferrari!

I ended up really liking this story. When I first started reading, I wasn’t sure that I was going to like it, but the more I read, the more I rooted for Ed and Janine to be able to be together and get past their obstacles. The characters were interesting and I felt they were easy to relate to.
Ed has been alone with no one to rely on but himself for most of his life. He has traveled around and tried to go straight several times, but something always happens to pull him back where he doesn’t want to be. Ed is in a desperate spot and then he sees her and his life changes, it has to so that he can deserve her. He doesn’t know her name, but he knows that she is his and he has to protect her. Ed finds out that his love is named Janine and that her dad has plans for his daughter’s future. He has to save her, but without a job or money, hope is in short supply. Plus, how will she react when she finds out all about him? Could she ever love a man like him?
Janine is scared. She meets Ed and feels a connection, but knows that it can’t go anywhere because her dad already has plans for her future. Janine tells Ed that she wishes things could be different, but she doesn’t see a way out. Ed is everything she wants in a man, strong, handsome, and protective even if he is older than her. Janine doesn’t know anything about Ed, but she likes how she feels when she is around him. They say that love will find a way, but she doesn’t see how.
I really liked how Ed treated Janine and did what he could to make her happy. Their happy ever after was great and made me very happy. I definitely recommend reading this book.

This is another intriguing addition to the A Man Who Knows What He Wants series. It’s a well-written standalone romance, Ed has had a tough life growing up and chose the criminal way but once he saw innocent Janine in a robbery all his protective instincts rose up. He chemistry between this older man and his young love is sizzling. Wonderful entertaining story with loads of drama.
