Samantha is a masochist with no interest in the trappings of romance or submission, until she meets the sexy new Dominant in town and falls for him hard. But he’s not who she thought he was. He’s not even human.
Trev is a renegade member of the sadistic Sadec race and by the time she learns it, she’s on his spaceship far from home. When she’s confiscated by his people as forbidden contraband, … contraband, Sam finds herself reborn into her new life as Silla. She consents to fill her role as Pain Receiver and reluctantly learns to submit to their whims.
But Trev is never far from her mind, and when she’s given the chance to get back to her renegade Sadec Dom, she realizes it’s worth risking everything to be with him.
Taken by a Renegade is a stand-alone sequel to Surrendering to Her General where Silla first appeared as a minor character. Now we’ll see her backstory and learn how she ended up at the mercy of the Sadecs as she struggles to get back to the man she loves.
Publisher’s Note: This book contains lots of steamy scenes and power exchange, so please avoid it if you find those things upsetting.

This is how it all began – the Rise of the Sadecs and their diplomatic approach with Earth for Pain Receivers. A must read!
I loved Sam/Silla, she was strong, smart and so capable on the outside but her vulnerability was such a beautiful thing to see. I cried when she finally reunited with Trev, the dominant Sadec renegade who owned her heart from the very start.
Cute, was glad these two torn souls could find one another in the end, this book was supposed to be a bdsm book, but mostly was glossed over, first book was way better. I expected more from this story and was sadly mistaken.

This might be an alien sci-fi, but it’s still a love story and it had me in tears more than once. Ms Lewel did a great job at wringing the emotion out of the reader.
As with the first book in this series, I was struck by the inventiveness of the futuristic scenario the author has built and I look forward to reading more in this series.
Samantha has had a rough life and has learned not to trust. She belongs to a club where she can get release for all of her anger and repression without getting close to anyone. She meets the dominant Trev and, breaking all her rules, enters a relationship with him. She falls in love with him. He tells her he has to leave and asks her to go away with him. She agrees and soon finds herself on board a spaceship. Trev is a renegade Sadec alien. Sam and Trev travel throughout space always on the fringe. One day they are stopped and boarded by a Sadec commander. As a renegade, Trev is an outlaw. But since Sam is a valued pain receiver, they agree to let him leave but she has to stay. They convince her that Trev was going to sell her. Broken-hearted, she spends the next couple of years with the Sadecs but can never forget Trev. This is a well-written, steamy, sexy story but the powerful emotion in the book overrides all else. Wonderful job!
This is a great sci-fi. This story has discipline romance kidnapping everything you could want in a Sci-Fi. this is part of a series but is a standalone with a HEA

Samantha wasn’t a submissive, she loved pain. Trev gave her what she wanted at the lifestyle club so since he was out of town she took him up on the extended time together. They spent two months together. Trev asked Sam to go with him and she agreed. What a surprise. Out of this world they went. You’ll have to read the book to see how their relationship went as there were plenty of twists and turns. Great story. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The title sure says it all I had a great time and was highly entertaining with each turn of the page. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly from beginning to the end.

This story took a different direction that I thought. The beginning of the book has how Trev and Samantha meet at a BDSM club. Samantha takes Trev home and the next day she shows the city and they get involved until Trev asks if she will leave with him? Samantha joins him and finds out he’s a alien. Then his ship is overtaken and he is forced to leave because he is a renegade to his people. Meanwhile Samantha is sold and passed around different Sadec’s. (I prefer the one love interest/partner so this jelled with me.) As Samantha is passed around, she reflects about her time with Trev and misses him. Will Trev come and rescue Samantha? This was a good read with heavy BDSM.
Sam is a masochist, not a submissive and not looking for a Dom. Trev and her connect at a lifestyle club where he happily gives her what she is looking for. Enjoying their time together, they extend that time, he asked her to come with him, and then finds out he means into outer space. The book takes off from there in directions I frankly had a hard time keeping up with. I liked the connection between Trev and Sam, the budding relationship, the power exchange. But, when she is taken by his race, the Sadecs, as contraband off his ship, things went sideways for me. As Silla the Pain Receiver, she has a Sadec master or masters, treat her like a pet, pass her around to both male and females, all with no emotion towards her. She has several masters in a couple of years, but never forgets Trev. The book twists around in a good way, but the chapters in-between left me little cold.

I felt Sam and Trev’s story started kinda slow and was dragged out by Sam’s past family and relationship issues, so that when Trev showed up and changed how she felt about relationships, it felt confusing. Then when she went away with him and was confiscated by the Sadec, things got very complicated. However, I finally got the feeling that Sam ‘s love for Trev made her realize what was important.

This is book 2 of the Rise of the Sadecs series. This is a standalone and can be read without reading book 1. Sam was taken from Earth by Trev, a renegade who does not want to share his woman like good Sadecs should. He and Sam love each other, but she is taken by the Sadec military and brought to their ship. She chooses to be a submissive while on the ship, she is not allowed to return to Earth, and is subject to punishments like any other human. She chooses a new name, Silla, which means stubborn in their language. And, boy is she! She is a masochist, but not much of a submissive, lol. I really enjoyed this story. The author has seamlessly written the next saga of Sadec life and does a wonderful job describing Silla’s mood swings. The author also did a wonderful job creating this world and explaining why the Sadecs are the way they are and how they have come to have humans as slaves. I really hope that the author continues with this series! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Futuristic. Aliens. BDSM. Finally love? Samantha isn’t a submissive or a dominant. She just likes the pain to forget the pain of her past, and sometimes sex with no emotion. That changes when Trev comes to the Club and she actually starts a relationship with him, but he is gone a lot and won’t really tell her what his job is. When he asks her to go with him when he has to leave she agrees and finds out he is an alien and a renegade to his people, the Sadac. While on his ship, it is overtaken, boarded, and he is forced to leave and she is taken and sold to a Sadac master. Sadacs need submissives who like pain and humans are perfect. Over the next two years while on a Sadac ship she is passed around to other crew members and changes masters but even though the pain and pleasure is good, she never forgot her love for Trev. Now even the pain and pleasure she gets from the Sadacs isn’t enough and after losing Trev she just wants to go home to Earth. But she can’t go back to Earth for at least five years I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
This BDSM sci-fi romance does fine with the BDSM and the sci-fi elements but could use more of the romance. No one is looking for Harlequin in a story like this, but the evolution from we’re-just-here-for-the-kink to true love and HEA needed more room to develop.

Sam used the club to forget about her live. She did not always go to the club for her fixes. Trev is new to the town and the club but him and Sam just clicked there in the club. Trev is not from New York but Sam through he was from the farms. Now would be the time to get the book.
Sam was a person who liked pain when playing at the local BDSM, and thats where she met her match and fell in love with a man name Trev. But she soon found out that he wasnt a human at all. He asked her to come to his home with him, only it was a spaceship . After a bit there ship is soon boarded by Sadecs and she is taken away only to be taken to their big ship. To them she is a pain reciever who is highly regarded. They cant take her home as Earth is just learning about them, after been with them for a bit she soon misses Trev.
Really enjoyed reading this after having the pleasure of reading the first book. I certainly hope there is more to come from this author. four stars
