It’s not until a missing girl is found chained up in Abram’s home that this beauty realizes one of her romantic interests is a beast.
When I took this job at New Haven’s first ever Night Club, it was just to try to get on my own two feet. I hadn’t expected to fall for my boss.
Now, I can’t seem to stay away, despite all the warning signs he’s hiding something from me. It’s not until I …
This is a great story. I couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed every second. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next between Char and Abram. I am looking forward to reading the next story in the series. I loved the interactions between Char and Abram. It took a while to through to each other.

interesting beginning to a new series … starts a bit slow, but definitely worth it
Extremely entertaining, captivating, and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.
A retelling of Beauty and the Beast. This was a great story that is based on the fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast, A woman is disappointed at how her life is going and finds a new one interest, when women disappeared that look like her and then things happen!

Should have been better.
This was quite good but missed the mark in some ways. This Beauty and the Beast retelling has a paranormal element that didn’t really work for me. Also I had little interest in the self-centred main characters. I found them both pretty one-dimensional.

I had mixed feelings about this book. It is the classic beauty and the beast story. I wanted to find out what happened so I finished it. But it was hard to do so. I skipped several pages because the characters did not appeal to me. It is the classic beauty and the beast story.
You know when you want to like something, but it just tastes a little off, and the longer you keep with it, the more and more the flavor goes bad? That was Taken by the Beast for me, it had all these things I liked in it, but it was just not right.
Charisse Bellamy is starting over. She’s a fashionista without a place to have some flare, though. New Haven isn’t New York; her pretty clothes and jewelry have her sticking out in a place where the locals caution one to lay low.
Looking for a way to pitch in and help out with her living situation, she gets a job running the first-ever night club in New Haven only to have it plagued by problem after problem, the biggest being its irascible owner, Abram. But Charisse thinks she can handle anything that comes her way, but can she handle all that goes bump in the night?
Taken by the Beast is a paranormal Beauty and the Beast story, but it has a MAJOR flaw, and that is Charisse. I really didn’t like her. She’s everything I don’t want in a character. Ignorant and unwilling to listen. Pigheaded and unwilling to change. Independent and unwilling to have any vulnerability.
Her character did not know how to give, and it didn’t impress me; it turned me off.
I got towards the end of the book and started just skipping paragraphs to avoid more of her BS.
I didn’t enjoy this book. I won’t be continuing the series.
Don’t recommend.

Not for Me – I’m sorry but I just couldn’t get into this book, I didn’t like the email lead – I struggled to finish it.
Taken By The Beast is a retelling of Beauty and The Beast with a paranormal twist. The storyline is interesting, the characters were a bit ott and at first I had a hard time with this story but I kept on reading and I am so glad I did. I enjoyed the storyline and the author’s take on the curse and the whole beauty and the beast concept. I look forward to reading the rest of this series to find out what happens next.
Charisse had to move back to her hometown of New Haven. She started managing the new night club in town under her new boss, Abram. A lot of things start happening in the town and her best friends younger brother, Deputy Dalton, gets called in to investigate. Char can’t decide if she wants Abram or Dalton. When she finally figures out what is really happening in the town she has a few decisions to make. After she finds out who she really is, things start to click into place. There is a lot to try to wrap your head around. Love the banter and the characters. There are a few extra hot moments in this book. I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

Interesting plot with mystery but just wished the main heroine was a little more practical at times. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the 1st book I have read from Rebecca Hamilton. This is the story of Charisse and Abram. Charisse is a feisty, spunky, sweet, curvy, plus-sized woman. Abram is a moody, awkward, stubborn and not at all what you would expect for a “beast”.
You are taken on a ride on the emotional roller coaster. One minute you are laughing and the next minute you could be sad. You have your twists and turns and it’s a dark take on the original. Great start to the series and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
loved it !!! hated it !!! a good start for a new series !!! love Abram and Dalton !!! Char is funny… you need to read this with a grain of salt…it’s funny and action packed, serial killer on the loose…slow parts… twists…different.

Best day ever when you can start a new series. If you like the story beauty and the beast then this one could be for you too. Charisse is the one who discovers something about her new boss. The job at New Haven’s night club is more than the surface. She will have you chuckling a time or two also. Abram too is the surprise with him also giving us a chuckle but together though the heat will burn. This one I must say I did enjoy liking its quirks. Follow along by turning the pages to see how you too can fall for the beast if you dare.
Charisse has moved back to New Haven, and is temporarily living with her friend Lulu, but her confidence has taken a hit. She gets lucky and finds a job as a manager for a new nightclub, although her boss Abram is moody, he still fascinates her. Will he prove to be a dangerous man to be interested in? Has New Haven really changed from a safe town into something more dangerous for women? I enjoyed this interesting tale with it’s little tickles of Beauty and the Beast references, but don’t expect it to be another Beauty and the Beast remake. Charisse can be a bit girly at times, but she has some sass, grit and determination to make up for it (so I liked her).

This book 1 in The Conduit Series Book Series is a retelling of a paranormal Beauty and the Beast with twist of mystery. She was trying to get back on her feet and staying with a friend when strange disappearances of girls looking like her end up dead. Her life is in jeopardy and she sometimes acts like she is clueless. She finds that Monsters are real. These two characters have to make compromises and fix their issues to get together. Different from what I expected

Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite stories. This tale has everything you can ask for. Mystery, magic, murder, gorgeous men, friendship, pain and longing. Was hooked from the very beginning.
Felt Charisse’s pain of returning to her hometown after years of being away. The contrast between Dalton and Abram was well written. Looking forward to their next adventure.

An Intense Beginning
This first book in the “Conduit” Series introduces us to Charisse and Abram. Charisse learns her blood has powerful properties and she needs to know what they are as she tries to control it with the help of Satina, a thousand-year-old witch. This slow-burn tale has action, drama, humor, betrayal, magic, monsters, and new beginnings. This is an exciting start to a new series.
