It’s not until a missing girl is found chained up in Abram’s home that this beauty realizes one of her romantic interests is a beast.
When I took this job at New Haven’s first ever Night Club, it was just to try to get on my own two feet. I hadn’t expected to fall for my boss.
Now, I can’t seem to stay away, despite all the warning signs he’s hiding something from me. It’s not until I …
Taken by the Beast was really interesting and I found myself living everything that heroine went through, which I think it is one of the most important things for me when I am reading a story. I can’t wait to read more to this story, it is still haunting my dreams!
I didn’t read the book blurb so I didn’t know it was a Beauty and the Beast retelling at first. It has all of the original elements but they seem to be a small part of the story because there is so much about the story that is original. You don’t have to like fairy tales at all to enjoy this action packed adventure with a murder mystery twist. I really loved this story
Great twist on one of my favorite classics.
It was not at all what I was expecting. I finished it just to see what happened but it was a little confusing in the beginning.
main character has a very positive view of herself and she is a fighter. She has world changing issues to deal with and never gives up.
I absolutely loved this book! I couldn’t put it down! Lots of action, some twists & turns, surprises, love scenes, building romance. All the typos distracted some from the story, but other than that loved all the rest of it.
A series consisting of 4 books about the magical world of supplicant versus conduit.
A world in which Charissa’s blood as a supplicant, severely amplifies the spells of a conduit, making her prey to these conduits.
When she returns to the town where she grew up, she no longer really feels at home there. Lulu, her school friend since primary school, is the only thing that binds her to the town. In order not to feel useless, she looks for work. As a former model, she has visited many nightclubs and when she runs into Abram who is looking for a manager, she has a job.
Stories of missing young women reach her. It is worrying that they show many similarities with her, but Charissa doesnt think about it beyond that. Until one night in the dark she is chased by a beast and rescued by another beast.
Slowly she learns the story about her missing father and her bloodline. She discovers that Abram is the beast that saved her and gets to know Satina who plays a role in the curse, making Abram a beast by night and a human by day.
Charissa, vain and naive, with her head in the clouds and dressed in high couture, turns into a woman who learns to survive in a world full of magic.
Abram, always a womanizer who went for his own pleasures and did not dwell on the harm done to others, meets his equal in Charissa.
Satina, a woman harmed by Abram who cursed him. She continues to haunt him over the years but now seems to put the couple’s happiness first.
Great story. Sometimes a slow moment in the book but it remains a story that you want to read part 2 quickly
4*

Taken by the Beast by Rebecca Hamilton is a wonderful story that I have loved reading very much. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series and I can not wait to read the rest. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy and paranormal romance.

book one. They met. I thought that each book was about a different beast in a different time or place. I am wrong. This is a series of a crazy paranormal potter era for erotic. I was prepared for the dirty Grimm version of intimacy. hmmm. I see everything is laid out and the shadows are staring to raise. part 2 coming up.

Oh my oh my!!!!
I have to be honest …when i decided to read The Conduit series i thought each book would be a standalone…as i didnt read the blurb for the first book or any of the other books…and when I finished reading the first book and with the way it ended only then did i decide to look up the series…i was a bit apprehensive as i have normally found that a continuous series of books with the same characters will fizzle out eventually but to my surprise i have to say that the stories got beter and better…. filled with so much action, mystery and intrigue …you will not be anle to put the books down as all you want is to enjoy the adventures and exploits of the Conduit series characters .
This was a fast paced easy read that had me laughing at the main character Charisse an ex plus size model who is back in her hometown from New York…she is funny, compares everything that happens to her with her modeling days and refuses to go anywhere with out dressing up…even if she finds herself running through the forest in designer heels being chased by beasts…..
An absolutely wonderful read

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review.. This was a great retake on Beauty and the Beast. Charisse and Abram. She’s just moved back to her home town after a run as a model. But she needs a job and falls into one with Abram, as bad manager. But around town girls that look like her keep getting killed. Dalton is a detective working on the case and he’s flirting with Char, but she’s drawn to Abram. When things get crazy it leaves her with a beast chasing her.

Set aside a day for this strange, adult paranormal set in New Haven in April, featuring Charisse Bellamy, age 28, returning to New Haven after ten years in New York City and the death of her mother due to cancer.

A great story to start the Conduit series. It starts a little slow but then you are immersed in an incredible world. Love Char and Abram. Looking forward to the rest of their story.

This is the 3rd book I’ve read written by Rebecca Hamilton; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the first book in the Conduit Series; she has written a good book that’s similar to Beauty and the Beast; Charisse is the beauty and her boss Abram.

Sometimes on occasion you can answer the question: “How can anyone top the original?” Well folks, you find it here. I am a big fan of the old fashioned Mother Goose & Grimm fairytales alike because I grew up with those versions before PC & the total inept came in & destroyed the original. All good writers eventually attempt to use the originales & try to twist it & turn it into their version of what they think it “should be” or maybe even “could be”. Some take that & slam it to the moon & have made it historical & other times….. not so much. To me this version TOTALLY is not only original BUT slammed it home for me.
How I come to ridicule a book or review one is via this point wholeheartedly. Writers are attempting to entertain our brains with stories that either make us forget, make us remember, make us cry, laugh…. you name it emotionally & they attempt to have us gain any of those moments along with their characters (et see previous phrases at the beginning of this point)
I am a reader that wants to forget, wants to loose focus, loose time & space, go somewhere & be entertained. If the writer gets this reader to do that, then pffffft then we have a winner…
I received this ARC from the author for my honest opinion and review. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! HAPPY READING!!!

The story concept for this read was good. It was a different take on Beauty and the Beast. My complaint is I found the Beauty I hit hard to digest. She was a little unrealistic with her behavior. But, still think the overall story has great potential and I will definitely be reading the next book.

I love this book it was a great modern paranormal twist on Beauty and Beast.
This story grabs you from the first paragraph and does not let go. The surprises were great and the story line exciting enough that I never wanted it to end. I look forward to the next book in this series
