Shy barista Katie loves motorcycles. Not only can the growl of their engines penetrate her profound hearing loss, but her darkest fantasy involves losing her virginity in front of an audience-as a biker’s captive. She shares her dark desire with her roommate, having no idea that her roomie’s brother is part of a local MC. Katie had better be serious about what wants, because once her secret is … out and Chase lays eyes on her, it’s game on.

What do I love about Mira Stanley? I love that she can write a story that not only is hot, but has heart! This quick listen lets us meet Katie, a deaf girl who’s fantasized about her first time. Not slow and passionate but dark and a little kinky, she finds herself picked up by a biker that is the center of her dreams. Chase needs to display his dominance, and what better way than with Katie? But what neither realizes is the impact they will have on each other. Their romp is hot and steamy, and the tenderness is just icing on the cake. I love Katie. Despite her handicap, she doesn’t let anything stop her. She is a force! And Chase! You can’t have a better hero. He knows what he could have, and he’s not afraid to go after it. Fun, passion filled and just an all out entertaining listen, you don’t want to miss this!
New to me narrators, Brooke Hudson and Gregory Russell brought this gem to life. Hudson gives Katie such a great personality. No fear, and so much confidence, I loved it. Russell is perfect as Chase with his growlie voice, yet could be so sweet. This team is casting at it’s best.

This fell really flat for me. I picked this up as an audible for my commute to and from work. I was hoping a great MC novella was keep me hooked for my drive and not have me craving the next chapters all day at work. I found that I was entirely not craving it at all. I don’t mean this in a hateful way. Just not interested.
I give 70% of the blame to the chosen voice actors. The female voice actor was decent most of the time, but her pronunciation of a few words started to wear thin. For instance, the words “forward”. The character has been deaf since 5th grade due to getting sick and losing her hearing. So her natural vocal voice is off and stunted, where her inner monolog sounds correct. During her inner monolog she continued to say the word as “foh-wud”. Not as a British version of the word, it was just sounding wrong.
The male voice actor was just completely wrong for the fit entirely. He had an odd twang, like a NY native trying to pull off cowboy. And he sounded like he was in his late 40s, not an early to mid 20s male. The writing had his dialect at opposing sides of a battle for what I was trying to focus on. I would be so put off by his voice that I couldn’t get into how he felt or said things.
Sigh* the writing…the remaining 30% ball drop. Continued repeat of statements or overuse of words in the same paragraph was the first part. The second came down to the things said. No one talks like the script written for the male character, unless possibly backwoods and no cultured in the least bit. And I found myself embarrassed for the voice actor to have to say the word “clitty”..grown men just don’t say these things and not get laughed at for child talking about a woman’s sexual organs. *face palm*
