It’s always great to add another Omegaverse book to my shelves (at least one that is worth mentioning) and this is one that I can be proud to add there. Though I do get annoyed with the constant flip-flopping of internal monologue of Lucy about how Zeus “took her against her will” one moment then didn’t the next, overall it was a solid book. I think the working is limited because I don’t know what Kayden the Alpha of Scotland fits into this story or what the story is with that, but I’m hoping to have that explained in book 2 (which I will be moving to right now )
Scorching hot, keep your hearts locked down, don’t let them see the soft side paranormal romance with a side of intrigue. Looking forward to the next one.
I received this as an ARC and I’m under no obligation to leave a review.
Holy crap I could not put this one down!! Majorly intense and I can’t wait for the next one. Zeus and Lucy have to get a HEA…. after all of this they just have to! I read this in one day, can’t wait to get the next one!
This says book two but it was book one in the audiobook series
Gah first off I hate to give books such low rating but I was sooo disappointed. The book starts off with a bang. There’s action and banter. I was like yes it’s going to be full of interesting push and pull. Then the mating started. Now don’t get me wrong I love these scenes and knotting but that was all it is. I read a lot of adulty books and love them but there was basically no story line for the middle part of the book. I was out walking and playing disc golf so I continued to listen. The last few chapters picked up and left me with just enough intrigue to make me want to start the second book. So far it’s much more plot heavy while stile having sexy times. I’m on chapter 12. I really wish the middle portion of this book had more plot. He doesn’t even question why she’s trying to kill him. This is an audiobook and I was eh on the narration as well the accents made me giggle and I had to speed it up to 1.2 to feel like it wasn’t dragging. Like I said I’m intrigued enough to continue and if I based it off the beginning and end it would have gotten a 4.

4 star Review Taken By The Alpha (Knotted Omega #1) by Laxmi Hariharan & Scarlett Brooke
Audio Review:
Both Laxmi Hariharan and Scarlett Brooke are new authors to me. Dystopian paranormal romance is not a genre I typical read or listen to. This was a hot and steamy book that certainly had my imagine working overtime.
Be prepared this book ends on a cliff hanger, so you have been warned. The narration from Tor Thom and Charley Ongel certainly brought the story to life for me.
I was intrigued by the story that the authors wove and as mentioned I have not read or listened to this type of story before. It was fast paced and certainly drew me in and kept me engaged throughout.
There’s a good story in here, I liked the story, it had some decent action and the characters were beautifully flawed. I was thrown off by the repetitive explaining of motivations, of feelings, of past errors, and then the whole over telling as opposed to showing in the writing. I was hoping for a resolution after pushing through the whole book, only to end with a cliffhanger, which is a disappointment, it made me feel like when my kids would start to sing the song that never ends and how frustrated that used to make me feel.
Love and hate relationship in a good way, What a way to try not to be under the same roof with an alpha. Dominant, Sassy,Lust, rude, disobedient. Wonderful ending would be good for both of these characters
I received an review copy, voluntarily but this my review
Loved the story. The characters were well developed and their chemistry was intense. I loved the intense connection that both Zeus and Lucy fought against only to realize that they will not win that fight. They are meant to be together. Can’t wait to read the next book.
A really splendid, steamy, hot dystopian romance & I absolutely enjoyed reading it. The plot is well-paced with a lot of suspenseful situations & there are some good scene descriptions. The characters are strong-willed individuals that have good chemistry between them but are inclined to be quite confrontational at times.
There is: a feisty independent female omega (Lucy aka Lucia Erasmus, Czarina of Russia) is sent by the Scottish Alpha (Kayden) to assassinate the alpha General (Zeus) who in turn captures her & who will claim his soulmate naturally after punishing her, Zeus’s second in command (Ethan), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, drama, adventure, action, deceit, betrayal, danger, threats, conflict, violence, power struggles, memories, fated mates, assassination attempts, aggression, challenges, anticipation, devious plans, fated mates, heat issues, dubious consent, manipulations, mating bonds, advice, determination, ultimatums, decisions, escape, sadly this book does end with a cliffhanger & I look forward to the next book in this series with great anticipation.
This first book in the series deals with Lucy attempting to assassinate Zeus and in the process of going thru a heat cycle is mated by Zeus. They each have a hard time admitting to the pull the other one has on them. The sex between them is fast and hard. This book is building up to the next one in this series and hopefully will deal with the power struggle between two strong alphas. It is a good read, full of action (at this point mostly sexual) and has the makings of an action packed series. I would recommend this book for a good read.
This is Omegaverse, if you don’t know what it is, please take the time to look it up before you judge this book. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s DEFINITELY Mine.

Received ARC from Author for Honest Review.
I Give this Book a 3.5 or 4ish/5 Listing as 4.
Cliffhanger(?): Yes.
No Spoilers.
Heat: 4/5, there is a lot of scenes but they felt fast paced and no depth/kinda just vague. Despite it being most of the book.
Romance: 3ish?/5, at this point an emotional bond is still forming between them.
Suspense: 3/5
Drama: 4.5/5, I sadly don’t mean this rating in a good way, it is a tad over dramatic at times, I kinda feel like I’m reading a soap opera at times.
Dark(?): No.
I do like Zeus, but he does seem a little more different than the previous book, he’s a very emotional guy, I found that a little odd for an Alpha.
Lucy is a tad too…overdramatized and naive for me though at this point, I was expecting a strong Omega and a fighter, cause it does say that she is a different type of omega… well haven’t seen that yet.
But I love submissive Omegas, but it is classified that she IS different.
It seems to be a dangerous world.. too many cliffs Lol *hint sarcasm*
One thing that kinda disappoints me, is that Lucy isn’t experiencing ‘nesting’. So I’m assuming this instinct might not apply to this series?
This is a good book, though it’s still continuing, I do find it a tad bland for an Omegaverse, and there isn’t really any description of the world or rooms etc.
Something to give you a ‘visual’ in a sense.
Will I be looking forward to see what happens next? Yes.
