I’m one of four Willow daughters. He’s the first-born son of the Scafoni family. And we have history. For generations, the Scafoni family have demanded a sacrifice of us. A virgin daughter to atone for sins so old, we don’t even remember what they are anymore. But when you have as much money as they do, you don’t play by the rules. You make them. And Sebastian Scafoni makes all the rules. The moment … makes all the rules.
The moment I saw him, I knew he would choose me. Even though the mark on my sheath declared me unclean. Even though my beautiful sisters stood beside me, offered to him, he still chose me.
He made me his.
And then he set out to break me.

With it’s layers of gothic creepiness and super steamy scenes, Taken is absolutely mesmerizing from page one. I cannot wait to read the conclusion!
Natasha has become one of my favourites over night with Taken! Sebastian is just so mysterious…Helena confused and determined…TAKEN is definitely a MUST READ
„Taken” is the first book in the Dark Legacy Duet written by Natasha Knight. This book is perfect if you are in mood for a dark, mysterious and absolutely captivating read. Author gives us many information in order to explain certain events but the further you will delve into this story I guarantee that many more questions will occur. With the ending that left me with yet once again cliff hanger I am counting days to the “Torn” premiere which will happen on November 14th but still not soon enough.
Sebastian and Helena are from families that hate each other for centuries. They being enemies in some way makes this book so interesting and appealing. The Scafoni family have demanded a sacrifice from the Willow family for centuries in the form of a virgin Willow daughter. So Sebastian picks Helena and sparks fly between them from the start.
I love them both together. Even though Helena is scared of Sebastian she never backs up and knows deep down that he won’t seriously hurt her. But that cannot be said about his family. Lucinda, his stepmother, is evil. She gets off on hurting people and her sons are no better. Yet Sebastian is truly the one person that cares for Helena an protects her. There is that one special scene in the book in which said connection was so pure you will get goosebumps and instantly fell I love with Sebastian.
This book was so undeniably good. Dark but not too much, gritty to keep you racing through the pages, the feels will came no matter how much you will try to fight them. Once you’ll start this book you won’t be able to put it down. So now all is left is waiting for the November and the very anticipated from me premiere of book two “Torn”.
Taken is the start of a new Duet from Natasha Knight. And what a freaking start. You have two families that have for generations been part of each other one way or another.
Every generation the Scafoni oldest gets to pick a “Willow Girl” out of the daughters. This year Helena is chosen. She has done everything she could think of to make sure she was not chosen. Now that she is to serve the Scafoni for three years- one year with each brother. Helena has to stay strong for her soul.
This is a dark read, that might have some triggers. But man is it well worth it. I can’t wait to see what Torn brings.
OMG!!! This book is so freaking good. My mind is blown at just how much that I loved this book. Taken is nothing like I expected and everything that I’ve come to expect from Natasha’s writing.
When I started it and was a few pages in, my first thought was this is not going to be my kind of book…..Boy, was I SO WRONG!! I was so engrossed in Sebastian and Helena’s story before I even knew it. Their story is so full of twist and turns and the suspense…OMG…the suspense is killing me not having all the answers. I can’t even guess where their story is going now or how it’s going to end. The cliffhanger has left me on the edge of my seat and counting the days until Torn is released. Thankfully I want have to wait too long as it’s release is set for 2 weeks.
Natasha did an amazing job drawing me into this book, taking me through my comfort zone, and making me love this really effed up twisted story. This is a book that you will regret not diving into so I highly recommend you do it now before Torn comes out.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
Omg!! Taken had me on the edge of my seat!! Exciting, angsty, twisted and had a dark vibe!! Devoured it!! Fantastic read!!
I always enjoy my darker reads that hold me spellbound from the first page and Taken definitely did.
Sebastian is an antihero I couldn’t help but love who meets his match with the fiery Helena. Guided by family traditions both Sebastian and Helena enter each others lives and what unfolds is a complex, questionable yet riveting tale I couldn’t get enough of.
The dynamic between Sebastian and Helena was intriguing and I loved the unexpected yet magnetic push and pull betwen them. Their story is not hearts and flowers, it’s dark and twisted yet exactly what they each crave. Things are not always what they appear and just as things begin to get interesting I was left ready to throw my Kindle yet refusing to do so because I need more.
Taken is a captivating pageturner that kept me on my toes guessing until the end and eagerly anticipating what happens next.
Natasha Knight why must you pull my heart out & dance on it? This book took me on a wild dark ride. Witnessing the evil way the Scafoni treats these women is so crazy! My heart breaks for these Helena & the Willow Girls that came before her. I want to do some serious damage to some of the Scafoni family! Sebastian has just became one of my all time favorite anti-heros. I can only hope we get a happy ending Natasha, because I know how your evil artist mind works I can’t wait for the next book!!
Well, well, well how shall I write this review without making in a novel of its own?
Two rival families where Scafoni’s seem to have some powerful hold of the Willow’s so they can come and pick which daughter they want and once they have her all bets are off and they can basically do whatever pleases them to the girls.
This blurb alone was enough to get my attention but it wasn’t after I started reading it that I was wondering WHAT WAS THIS?!?
To say my jaw was on the floor and my heart was about to stop any second for the first half of the book would be a huge understatement.
I was asking myself why would Natasha Knight even write a story like this.
A story that is so complex, compulsive and questionable.
I had my answer by the time I got to the end and it’s so clear that she has created another magnificent, addictive story full of angst, twists but also love underneath it all.
Sebastian & Helena are such a power couple but they aren’t aware of it themselves.
I might not be a psychic but I can see their future clear as crystal!!!
Their connection is so strong and full of sparks I felt it to my bones.
I love love love love LOVE this story so much it drives me insane and I am not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing since I am craving book 2 more than my next breath now!
That twist at the end has me thinking of it every second of everyday and I welcome it all since I can’t seem to be able to shake it off me and move on.
This is an ABSOLUTE must read so to say that I had to call my BFF on her vacay in London and tell her all about it might or might not be true (It totally is tho).
So if you want to read both books at once you can wait 2 weeks or so but if you are like me and love the sweet suffering in waiting of it all you should definitely read it NOW!
This book was so good, I really enjoyed it!! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the storyline feels just a little familiar. But it has its own unique twists to the story, and it certainly ramps up the suspense, especially at the end!
I enjoyed Helena, she was a real fighter, really strong and stubborn. She didn’t give Sebastian an inch without making him fight for it! My feelings for Sebastian are conflicted right now. I think there’s more going on than we know about, I really don’t think he’s a bad guy. I hope we see Helena get a HEA in the next book… and I kind of hope it’s with Sebastian, but I don’t know!! Guess I’ll have to wait and see!
Scafoni and Willow
A crazy disaster sometimes start among families and between families as well. The Scafoni and Willow families were no different. They went with what tradition dictated more so the Scafoni than the Willow. The dynamic between Helena Willow and Sebastian Scafoni was crazy to see. She always knew what to say or what to do to push his buttons. I shook my head half the time when she said something at the wrong moment. I knew that would cost her. Sebastian wasn’t the hero of this story. He was the enemy. He was a Scafoni. He wanted to follow tradition. But he didn’t know choosing Helena could cause more problems. I’m glad that Torn would be dropping soon. The ending had me. I’m not going to lie. Both families seem to be out for themselves. Who do you trust? Your enemy? Your family? I guess that will be seen in the conclusion.
“It’s just him and me and this silence. It’s too much. Too loud. Deafening.”
WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST READ? Seriously, I need a drink after reading Taken by Natasha Knight. No, I need drugs and a therapist to tell me why I love this book despite its messed up story. My heart. My soul. My emotions. Twisted inside, over and over. Destroyed, a million times over. Darkened to a point of no return. Taken by Natasha Knight ruined me. Taken by Natasha Knight squeezed me till I could not breath. The stormy and dangerous storyline. The deep characters. Taken ruled me. Dominated me. Crushed me. Teared me. Swallowed me whole. Forced me to submission. Natasha Knight can do no wrong here. She proves to capture my heart and make me fall in love with the dark and damaged. I crave her writing. I crave her characters. I crave the magic she conjures to produce quality books I adore. Just like Taken, her books leave me ensnared.
Taken is a gripping first book in the Dark Legacy Duet. My tongue was tied. My mind exploded. I held my breath till I was gasping. My bones overcome with chills. Taken absolutely crippled me. Taken absolutely mesmerized. The powerful story ripped a strand of my soul. The enigmatic characters took me on a journey I am yet to return from. Wow, Natasha Knight, you are a talented writer. Gosh, you are trying to kill me. Slowly. Roughly. You want to yank my heart and pummel it to dust with a intriguing book. Hypnotizing. Hedonistic. Illicit. Erotic. Taken is a brilliant captor/captive story that will hold you hostage. A menacing story about power. A magnetic story about traditions and legacies. A soul punishing story that will blow away. Taken is complex. Taken is heavy. Taken is mysterious. You are thrown into dark and depravity that will excite and thrill you. Taken is next level dark brilliance you will crave. Natasha Knight’s writing pulls you into a world so graphic and sexy. Your head will spin out of control.
I pretty much fallen head over heels in love with Sebastian and Helena. They have a messed up relationship bound by traditions. It is sexy AF. It is chaotic. It is breath taking. It is a rush of pure sadistic chemistry. Sebastian and Helena are prey and predator and the hunt is pure exciting. I loved Helena. Her fire. Her strength. Her vulnerability. She was not a meek nor a wilting flower. She goes through some messed up situations and you just like hugging her. Sebastian is the dark master who will haunt your dreams. Dominating. Dirty. Tough. Dangerous to the nth degree. Chilling. I would not mind a round with Sebastian.
Gahhh, I need Torn!!!!!!!!Like now!!!!!!!!Natasha Knight, gimme now!!!!!Wow, Take made me lose my mind and definitely can’t wait to have Torn in my hands.
4.5 stars
I love these dark romances with old family curses and two people coming together by force! Sebastian is the firstborn son of the Scafoni family and Helena is the oldest of the Willow quadruplets. Because of a thousand year old curse the Scafoni sons are to take one of the Willow daughters; the firstborn chooses which one and then the brother have her for a year each.
Helena is the opposite of her sisters. She’s dark-haired where they are blond; she’s literally the dark to their golden. This makes her stand out and actually intrigues Sebastian to choose her. She’s full of fire and determined to find him and not submit to his demands.
Sebastian is intrigued by Helena. He sees the fire inside her eyes and wants to be the one to make her submit. There’s too much to his past and the whole history behind this curse. Since this is the first book of the duology, not all of our questions are answered, but we get to find out some information! His younger brother Ethan and his stepmother Lucinda are seriously sick. I hated them from the start and I was worried to see how everything with them would go down.
Helena and Sebastian’s relationship is complicate and messed up. When he’s gentle with her, she freezes him out in order to not get attached. I believe that Sebastian does have feelings for her but the whole situation they are in is really complicated.
I got sucked to the story from the story. This is a really good and dark story that I definitely enjoyed! Natasha Knight really knows the way to write an amazing dark romance!! That ending left me wanting for more and I can’t wait to get my hands on Torn to find out what happens next!!!
Natasha Knight has become one of my go-to authors for dark romance, and with TAKEN she just took it one tiny step farther. I was hooked from the start, totally engrossed by its twisted and dark goodness, at times laden with dubious consent at best.
Oh, Sebastian. He’s evil and mysterious, yet there’s this smidge of gentleness shining through at very rare times that lets me think we – and Helena – have by far not seen the last there is to his character. Because as much as he’s rough and treating Helena like garbage more often than not, I am almost positive this scheming bas***d has an ulterior motive. He’s a sick, sadistic jerk for sure, still there wasn’t a moment where I really, truly hated him. I get why Helena is so conflicted.
Helena. What a feisty as hell, strong heroine. I adored her – and feared for her life once or twice, because she seriously didn’t care about the consequences of her rash, breakneck actions. She did not once cower. Yes, she had her moments where a vulnerability shone through, but, heck, did she put up a fight!
And the sex. Talk about dirty, freaky hotness! It’s rough, it’s questionable, sometimes dubious at best and even some voyeurism is added to the mix.
Apart from our couple, there are only a few more characters, and most of them were despicable. But there’s one that totally intrigued me. I have no idea at all where book two will take us – talk about a nasty, seemingly hopeless cliffhanger!! – but I’m holding out hope that this won’t be the last we see of this person…
While I might have hope as to what Sebastian intends to do, I’m terrified of how it will all play out, seeing the predicament both characters found themselves in at the end of this book… To say I’m glad the wait for the second part of this duet is only two excruciating long weeks is putting it mildly…
This was my first read by Natasha Knight. And it won’t be my last.
This book was dark and intense. Will have you on the edge of your seat and flipping through the pages. Knight will take you on a roller coaster of emotions. I wasn’t sure whether I supposed to love or hate Sebastian. I really enjoyed Helena’s character. Even though she was in a vulnerable state. She showed so much strength. And stood up for herself. Things were just getting good and then………..
Yep you guessed it. There’s a cliffhanger. But thankfully we don’t have to wait that long for book 2.
Grab hold of your emotions ’cause you’re in for a dark, gritty, and intense ride!
This book!! I seriously could not put it down. From the beginning I was pulled in and held captive till the very end. And the ending!!! What a way to leave us hanging. I am definitely on edge with anticipation while we wait for book 2.
Helena is a strong spirited, stubborn, say what she thinks girl who is right to question everything that is happening. I could never imagine being in her situation and could never imagine her situation happening in this day and age. But that is the brilliance of this story! Helena doesn’t realize how strong she really is and I think that’s how many of us are. We endure what is handed to us, that which many would crumble under the same pressure, yet we push on and make of it what we can.
Sebastian is sort of your typical alpha male. But then he is so much more. Takes what he wants. Domineering yet compassionate. He is so much wrapped into a beautiful package.
Secrets and lies seem to tie these families together but as these are unraveled more questions are waiting. I seriously loved this book. Loved the story line. Loved the characters. And I can not wait to see what happens next!!
Fantastic read! Unstoppable force at play here and it’s a fabulous book! I really enjoyed this as I always do with each book this Author writes. Such a well developed story that I quickly became invested in the characters and seriously couldn’t wait to see where things headed. Looking forward to book two! I need more!
BOOK 2 NOW PLEASE!!!
This twisted tale of archaic traditions with some spiteful vengeance added to the mix had me turning the pages so fast I’m surprised my kindle didn’t give up on me.
The Willow and Scafoni families history dates back hundreds of years. Every generation the first born Scafoni son chooses a virgin Willow daughter to own. Well that was the way it was until Helena was the Willow daughter chosen. She wasn’t a virgin, that was no secret, but she was the one that Sebastian Scafoni wanted.
Helena is a great character, she’s willful and strong minded, even questioning Sebastian about the tradition that sees her taken from her family and moved halfway around the world to live with his family who hate her with a passion. How can he think it’s right? How can he be a part of it?
Sebastian’s character is one you hate to love. Yes he’s carrying on his family’s tradition, but unbeknown to his brothers and evil stepmother, he knows it’s not right. Outwardly he has to show he’s following the traditional rules of having a Whipping Willow Girl, but on the inside he craves Helena. She’s not meek and pliable like others he’s known, she’s feisty and passionate and calls to his dark side. So much so that the chemistry between the two could set the island home on fire.
I loved reading both their POV during this dark twisted story and was cursing up a storm when it stopped where it did, hence I need book 2 NOW. I need to know how this ends and i’ll be waiting on tenderhooks for it.
Holy cliffhanger Batman! What a dark, dirty and disturbing read! Taken by Natasha Knight is the first book in a new series and it’s not for the faint of heart. There is some serious messed up (possibly inbred???) family s**t going on between the Scarfoni and Willows. Let me just say, they would take the title for most dysfunctional family Thanksgiving dinner, EVER.
Taken centers on a centuries old tradition between two families, the Scarfoni and Willows. Every generation quadruplets of girls are born into the Willow family and when they come of age (21 and kept a virgin) they are put on display for the eldest son of the Sacrfoni to choose which one he will take as his sex slave and then she is passed on to his two younger brothers, the chosen girl must spend one year with each brother before she is allowed to go on with her life. It is a debt that the Willow family has been paying to the Scarfoni family for generations and in this generation of girls the chosen girl, Helena, is not going to go down without a fight.
I feel like Taken is a reverse harem gone wrong with a Flowers in the Attic kind of vibe (I’m looking at you Lucinda). The Sacrfoni and Willow families have a super messed up past. There is a family curse (never piss off an Italian grandma, she WILL curse you), evil stepmothers, centuries long grudges and a whole lotta money exchanging hands. This is a dark and disturbing read but it is a delicious read and OMG, why isn’t book two out yet??!!
