I’m one of four Willow daughters. He’s the first-born son of the Scafoni family. And we have history. For generations, the Scafoni family have demanded a sacrifice of us. A virgin daughter to atone for sins so old, we don’t even remember what they are anymore. But when you have as much money as they do, you don’t play by the rules. You make them. And Sebastian Scafoni makes all the rules. The moment … makes all the rules.
The moment I saw him, I knew he would choose me. Even though the mark on my sheath declared me unclean. Even though my beautiful sisters stood beside me, offered to him, he still chose me.
He made me his.
And then he set out to break me.

This is the first book in the Dark Legacy Duet. This is a really great dark romance, and I liked it. The story is captivating, intriguing, and hot! The characters are great. Sebastian and Helena share a sizzling chemistry. The Scafoni’s brothers are dark, and mysterious! The story has twists and turns, and ends with a cliffhanger. If you like dark romance, this one is for you. Natasha Knight never disappoints. Now, I can’t wait to listen to the next book in this duet. Micheal Pauley and MacKenzie Cartwright did an amazing job with the narration. #AudiobookObsession
This is definitely not for the faint of heart… This is a dark book and I’d definitely be cautious if you are not used to reading dark books. I wouldn’t recommend this as someone getting into the genre. However, if you have been reading this series for a while, then yes, I would TOTALLY recommend. But like I said, this is a pretty dark book that involves our heroine being sold off and is used… I am a sucker for a good dark book, so of course I enjoyed it immensely. I look forward to book 2!
Natasha Knight once again delivers a dark romance. Taken has a lot of similarities to Romeo and Juliet. In this world, the Scarfoni boys pick one Willow girl to share over the course of years. Share her as a slave to their every desire, whim and discipline. There is no aftercare because there are no feelings for the Willow girl, until Helena. Sebastian chooses her against all the rules. Helena “dirties” herself and it still did not protect her. Once picked, Helena knows what will happen and how she can survive it. But will she break her own rules for Sebastian? This story is so intense, I could not stop listening to it.
Michael Pauley and Mackenzie Cartwright narrate this story. Their narration brings this book to life. Mr. Pauley brings out the best and the worst of Sebastian. Every emotion Sebastian feels, can be felt through the narration. Ms. Cartwright easily narrates Helena as the strong, defiant girl she is. Ms. Cartwright creates Helena’s character exactly as I imagined her.
Deceit, lies, dark and twisted that keeps you on the edge of your seat holds you there.
If you enjoyed the Indebted series by Pepper Winters than you will love to be Taken and Torn.
Michael Pauley and Mackenzie Cartwright were perfect for these characters.
Reviewed for Audiobook Obsession
well this one is pretty dark and twisted.I recieved this one in exchange for my honest review. This is a dark romance involving a girl being sold by her own family as basically a sex slave to their enemies. It was an agreement that they had apart of some treaty made long ago. Helena knows what her future may hold so she decides to take matter in her own hands when she is younger but still doesn’t manage to escape her fate of being chosen by sebastian. Chosen to be taken away from her family for 3 years and given to 3 brothers but will sebastian be able to give her to his brother when his time is up? will hannah remain hating sebastian after spending time with him.
and knowing the real truth of her family and how they aren’t so innocent as they make themselves out to be. This book shows what a family like the willows will do for money even if it means selling your daughters to the enemy. This book held my attention pretty much the whole time. It was a little darker and graphic then I prefer but the story was interesting and different. You go into this thinking you will hate sebastian but sebastian is much as a pawn in this game as hannah is. Just like helena, sebastian doesn’t have complete control over his own life but may be able to help make Helenas more bearable than it could have been. So if you like super dark and graphic romances with a little bit of stock Holme syndrome then this is the book for you. which I’m not so sure I would call it stock holme syndrome since helena is immediately attracted to him and developed feelings and a need for him pretty much immediately and not after him keeping her captive for a long time. She wants to hate him but can’t seem to allow herself to do so. This book also ends on a cliff hanger so be ready to jump right into the second after this one. There all kinds of crazy twists and turns in this story. I can’t wait to see where part two takes all these characters.
Loved it
Taken is my first Natasha Knight read and I loved it from beginning to end. This dark romance will hook you into the story of Helena, Sebastian and Gregory immediately.
Can’t wait to read book 2!!
Taken by Nataha Knight is a Dark Twisted Romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Michael Pauley and MacKenzie Cartwright. This is the first book of Dark Legacy Duet Series. This is the first book of Natasha’s that I have read and let me tell you she does not disappoint. I couldn’t stop listening. I look forward to reading the next book in the series Torn.
Michael and MacKenzie did an amazing job narrating. I love when they use two narrators so you can really get into each character. Michael did an amazing job playing Sebastian with the dark ruff voice. MacKenzie did an amazing job with Helena and the other female characters. I cannot wait to hear future projects from both narrators.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Dark Romances.

What started out as a gut-grabbing beginning, turned into a book-hangover-obsession. I couldn’t put it down until I finished the last book of the duet. The world was believable, yet surrealistic. I loved it.
Helena is the chosen Willow sister who will become Sebastian’s property for the next 3 years. She has no choice and he is determined to break her. If he doesn’t his family will.
I’m new to Natasha Knight so didn’t really know anything about Taken when I started it. It is a little darker than I would normally read but I realized pretty quick that Sebastian was probably going to not be such a bad guy. I loved Helena’s spunk and that she wasn’t going to back down from Sebastian and his family. Taken leaves us with a cliffhanger so going to have to find book 2 to figure out how this ends.
Taken (Dark Legacy Duet #1) by Natasha Knight is a very dark erotic romance with triggers. The Scafoni & Willow family
have history together, being tied together for centuries by a curse & a brutal tradition. A intensely, dark, mysterious & absolutely captivating listen. Oodles of details explaining certain events, however the further I delve into this duet the more questions I have. A game of cat and mouse being played by these characters. Characters are compelling as well as have complex personalities. This author intertwined a tale that includes a family curse, betrayal, criminal aspect, enemies to lovers trope, morbidly twisted, & sensuality. I’m so ready to dig into book two as this ends in a cliffhanger.
Narators Michael Paulie and Mackenzie Cartwright are new to me as I haven’t listened to anything they narrated before. I revel in the naration. These two together brought the narrative & characters into existence.

Taken
By: Natasha Knight
Narrated by: Michael Pauley, MacKenzie Cartwright
This is the 1st book to the Dark Legacy Duet and you will want to have the second book ready and waiting as soon as you finish. Natasha Knight masterfully takes you to the edge of your seat, the edge of your comfort level with this story. It is the type of story you can not put down, it draws you right in and takes over your mind, nothing else matter but knowing what comes next in this twisted and intense story. The Scafoni and Willow Families have a pact, an archaic one, that they have practiced for generations. One of the Willow daughters is to be sacrificed and given to the Scafoni’s sons for their taking. The eldest makes the choice, for this generation it is Sebastian and he chose Helena, the most spirited of the sisters. She is brought back to his home on an island in Italy to become his and then handed down to the brothers with intentions of breaking her. There are many secrets amongst the Scafoni’s and lies between them. There is evil as well, including Lucinda, Gregory and Ethan’s mother. Thank you Natasha Knight for this fantastic story!
I listened to the Audible edition, Michael Pauley and MacKenzie Cartwright are awesome narrators and voice performers. They bring each character to life, give them their own voice and personality. They set the perfect tone for this story and add the right amount of dramatic flair. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

Taken
By: Natasha Knight
Narrated by: Michael Pauley, MacKenzie Cartwright
Taken, the first book in the Dark Legacy Duet had me captivated for the entire book. Every generation, a virgin Willow daughter is sacrificed to the Scafoni men. Out of this generation’s quadruplet daughters, Helena is the chosen one. And now Sebastian, the oldest of the Scafoni’s has the first of 3 years to do with as he pleases. And he pleases all right. This dark, sensual story is addictive. I can’t decide if I love Sebastian or hate him. He is cruel one minute and tender the next. But this book is not only about Sebastian and his obsession with the beautiful Helena. The history of why this tradition takes place is mind melting. With a curse and money, things certainly have these two families tied together. The question is, will it continue and what will Helena’s fate be? Left on a cliffhanger, make sure you have book 2, Torn loaded and ready to go! You will definitely want to know the answers!
Michael Pauley and MacKenzie Cartwright are mesmerizing. Pauley always brings his best, and in dark romance, he truly shines. He has an emotion in his voice that makes Sebastian almost vulnerable at times, and in the next breath, he turns evil. I love it! Cartwright, with her amazing talent brings Helena in full of spunk, not being taken down. I love her emotional push pull as she is pushed into this new world, making want to get her out and help her! Glad there is more coming of these two!

OMG!!! This book is so freaking good. My mind is blown at just how much that I loved this book. Taken is nothing like I expected and everything that I’ve come to expect from Natasha’s writing.
When I started it and was a few pages in, my first thought was this is not going to be my kind of book…..Boy, was I SO WRONG!! I was so engrossed in Sebastian and Helena’s story before I even knew it. Their story is so full of twist and turns and the suspense…OMG…the suspense is killing me not having all the answers. I can’t even guess where their story is going now or how it’s going to end. The cliffhanger has left me on the edge of my seat and counting the days until Torn is released. Thankfully I want have to wait too long as it’s release is set for 2 weeks.
Natasha did an amazing job drawing me into this book, taking me through my comfort zone, and making me love this really effed up twisted story. This is a book that you will regret not diving into so I highly recommend you do it now before Torn comes out.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
Quotes:
“Isn’t that what you do? Isn’t that the point? You take a Willow Girl, and you beat her and rape her, and you break her so that when you return her, she’s already dead even if you don’t kill her.”
I’ve never made love before. I’ve never wanted to. I’ve never wanted to be that close to anyone. But right now, with her like this, vulnerable and breaking a little, fracturing before my eyes, I want to make love to her.
Review:
WOW! Taken by Natasha Knight was disturbing and absolutely delicious–I floved this book! Taken is book one in the new Dark Legacy Duet had me reeling and on the edge of my seat and read to scream by the time the inevitable cliffhanger transpired. I love dark romance – gritty with lots of sex? Yep, sign me up! And that’s exactly what Taken was. The story was dark and twisted. I am not going to lie, the cover is why I picked up the book to start with, but the storyline was unique and had me incredibly intrigued. I loved Helena. Her defiance and unwillingness to bow to Sebastian—or the other key players in the story—made her easy to route for. I wanted to see her find her HEA even if that HEA was different than what most seek. And Sebastian? **deep sigh** he was a total asshole but then again, that’s my favorite type of hero. We caught glimpses of a softness to him that also stole my breath. I loved the dual POV and I can not WAIT to read the second book in this duet… as a matter of fact, I am starting it as soon as I finish this review!
There is only one word for this book….da**!!!
Helena is one of four Willow sisters. However, even though she is a quad she looks nothing like them. When she finds out her fate she does the only thing in her power to make sure she is not the one chosen to spend time with the enemy.
Sebastian is the head of the Scafoni family and now has the duty of picking one of the Willow sisters. When he sees them he immediately knows that one is more special then the others.
The chemistry between Helena and Sebastian starts as a spark and soon turns into an fierce fire. Even with this chemistry Helena does all she can to not show fear to Sebastian because she refuses to back down. This just makes everything even better between them. There is a small problem though and that is the rest of the Scafoni family. Mainly Sebastian’s stepmother, Lucinda, who despises the Willow family and is not afraid to show it in the form of punishments.
With the way this book ended, I can’t wait to read Torn!!!! I am very patiently waiting to find out what happens.
If you are familiar with Natasha Knight’s books then you know she likes playing with the darkness in her stories. With Taken, first book of the Dark Legacy Duet, she took matters way farther, sending me spiralling down all along with Helena.
With each new generation of the Willow quadruplets daughters, the elder Scafoni son chooses the one who will be his to torment and do as he pleases for the next year, before passing her off to his brothers.
One of the first things to came to my mind when I’m writing my review is that it’s is one of these books I absolutely loved to hate. The emotions it evoked in me were very strong and painful, yet I loved them and couldn’t stop reading with eyes, I can imagine, wide like saucers.
Sebastian is a hero (or should I say, villain?) who could be Jethro or Tony’s brother. Do you see what I mean? Ruthless and merciless, he takes great pleasure in Helena’s distress. The thing is that there is also that mystery surrounding him, his complex personality I couldn’t decipher, which intrigued me.
The author explored with a poignant realism the heroine’s emotions, propelling me into the depth of Sebastian’s sadism. I felt everything she felt, every humiliation or beating hitting me in the gut. I wanted to rebel and cover, to scream and lash out. Omg, I was so spent by the intensity of this story! Hot, cold, up, down, I was as disoriented as the strong and resilent Helena.
But the strong emotions aren’t the only thing that compelled me: the tight plot kept me on the edge of my seat from the get-go, glued to the pages, looking for some revelations or deeds that would eventually explain everything and make it all better. Did I find my answers? You’ll have to find out by yourself but let me tell you that the ending was explosive and left me with my heart pounding. Fortunately for me, book #2, is coming very soon!!!
Enjoy the ride ladies!
Great story with alpha males and strong heroine. Dark and steamy!
Omw love it and i love Sebastian
I enjoyed this story, loved the family rituals. Sebastian is hot. I loved the heroines snarky attitude. I’d recommend this book. I can’t wait until the next story comes out tomorrow! Definitely one clicking it.
I received a copy of this book from that publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Taken is the first book in the Dark Legacy Duet from Natasha Knight. But the wait is not long at all for the second book. It will come out in November.
I’m one of four Willow daughters. He’s the first-born son of the Scafoni family. And we have history. For generations, the Scafoni family have demanded a sacrifices of us. A virgin daughter to atone for sins so old, we don’t even remember what they are anymore. But when you have as much moeny as they do, you don’t play by the rules. You make them. And Sebastian Scafoni makes all the rules. The moment I saw him, I knew he would choose me. Even though the mark on my sheath declared me unclean. Even thought my beautiful sisters stood beside me, offered to him, he still chose me. He made me his. And then he set out to break me.
I will go ahead and tell you since you already know this is a duet that your going to want the second book, Torn, in your hands the second you finish with Taken. I am so in love with this story. I will too also go and tell you that I am no fan of Helena Willow the main female character. However it is so much fun to not be a fan of Helena’s. It won’t make you not like the story. In fact you will love this story. The Willows and the Scafoni’s have had a long standing tradition. The oldest of the Scafoni boys is allowed to pick his very own virgin from the Willow daughters and keep her for three years. One year with each brother. Then she is to be returned to her family. However knowing this from a early age Helena decided that the best thing she could do was take herself out of the running to be Taken by making sure she was “unclean”. And she looks nothing like her Barbie doll sisters. She after all is dark headed and has a random silver streak running through her hair and thinks of herself as the less attractive off all the quadruplets. But her plan doesn’t work and she soon finds herself in the place that she had no intentions of being. And that is all I am going to tell you about this book. Don’t be mad because it’s like unwrapping a gift at Christmas. The less you know about it the better off that you are. This book will keep you guessing and leave you on the edge of your seat when you read the last sentences. This is a book that you do not want to miss if you love dark romances. Natasha Knight writes such amazing dark romances and if you have not tried out one of her books yet, Taken is a great place to start.
