An investigator who knows tragic loss firsthand, and his new client, missing far too long…Abducted at the age of sixteen and coerced into assisting the Jacoby crime family, Shannon Bliss has finally found a way out. She desperately wants to resume some semblance of normal life, but she also knows she has some unfinished business to attend to. She might have enough evidence to put her captors … her captors behind bars for a very long time.
When Shannon contacts private investigator Matthew Dane, a former cop, to help her navigate her reentry into society, he quickly discovers that gaining her freedom doesn’t mean her troubles are over. If the Jacoby family learns she is still alive, they’ll stop at nothing to silence her.
If justice is to be done, and if Shannon’s life is ever to get on track again, Matthew will need to discover exactly what happened to her–even if it means stirring up a hornet’s nest of secrets.

Ending not what I would like it to have been.
I love Dee Henderson’s books. The characters are very interesting. The writing is excellent and makes them a pleasure to read.
I am. Huge fan of Dee Henderson. All of her writings are pertinent to our world today, with mystery enough to be realistic. She has a way of holding my attention from the first words.
Dee Henderson is a great writer. I read quite voraciously and deeply appreciate a talented writer, and Dee is one of my favorites. Her stories are original and characters described in a manner in which the reader feels she/he can truly relate to them. I look forward to more of Dee’s fascinating writing.
Dee Henderson writes books with lovely detail and characters that make you want to get to know them. People that are flawed and real. Her story lines are rich and complex. I’ve read all of her books and she writes so well that I want to read them all again!
This book kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end! Excellent read!
Dee Henderson writes books you can’t wait to read!
Fantastic book by an inspiring author who puts you in the middle of it all. Somehow you feel like you’re there.
It kept you wanting to finish the book hard to put down
Love this book. Can’t wait to read more by this author.
I love how Dee brings back characters in a support role. Ready for a follow up to the O’Malley series.
Taken was getting into the mind of a survivor of a kidnapping. Also how to love your neighbor Matthew was so patient with her. Through her faith she became really strong.
This author should be banned from EVER using ellipses again. It became irritating.
So good! Loved it!
Very hard to put down
Great book! Dee Henderson has a great knack for character development, and she is a master story-weaver.
From the beginning you can see that Shannon has had a lot of problems since she was kidnabbed. The trust she place in Matthew Dane to help her deal with reentering the world is remarkable. She soon realize that there are problems that will mean that gaing her freedom will not be easy and that her secrets must also come out. She has to place her problems in Gods Hands and let Him lead her a freedom she needs.
Loved this book but I have not found a book by this author that I don’t like.
