Film lover Barbara Marr is a typical suburban mom living the typical suburban life in her sleepy little town of Rustic Woods, Virginia. Typical, that is until she sets out to find the missing link between a bizarre monkey sighting in her yard and the bone chilling middle-of-the-night fright fest at the strangely vacant house next door. When Barb talks her two friends into some seemingly innocent … innocent Charlie’s Angels-like sleuthing, they stumble upon way more than they bargained for and uncover a piece of neighborhood history that certain people would kill to keep on the cutting room floor.

Karen Cantwell is an amazing writer. Guaranteed laughs
Fun!
Total different reality. Found it somewhat weak
a fun read!
The storytelling is entertaining and the plot has potential. However, it was filled with mundane and sometimes uncomfortable details not important to the story. It was lighthearted in all the right places and sometimes the wrong ones. Overall a fun read but not gripping in my opinion.
The beginning of the book was hard to get through because it was like “here’s a taste of the mystery. Now I’m going to bury it in crap not central to the story.” Like her issues with her mother or eating the chili cheese dog. Yeah, there were parts of the climax that tied to them minusculely but the book was fine without them. It was like she was …
Worth reading for humorous relaxation.
It was funny and different…light reading.
Enjoyed it
This is the first book in a great series, love it!
Eh … I just couldn’t get into this story. It was a little confusing and so beyond far-fetched, maybe that was why. If you want a mindless read that doesn’t have a lot of plot but flows easily, go ahead.
I thought the book was funny and didn’t know where it was going in the beginning. I liked the main characters and most of the supporting characters except for the “bad guys”. I get that the idea was that they were so sterotypical that they were funny; but I didn’t enjoy the plot twist at all.
This is the kind of book you might choose to take to the beach. There isn’t much to the plot or the characters but it’s entertaining as well as forgettable.
Write up there with Janet Evanovich!
This was an action packed fun read.
Boring
Entertaining and amusing read.
It was trying too hard to be funny . and missed the mark.
This book was hilarious.
