From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carly Phillips comes a new story in her Knight Brothers series… fast…and ended with heartbreak and regrets.
Years later, she’s at the altar, about to marry another man.
He’s only there for closure, to finally put the past behind him.
But when the preacher asks if anyone has a reason the couple shouldn’t wed, she turns around and her gaze locks on his.
Suddenly he’s out of his seat.
Objecting.
Claiming.
And ultimately stealing the very pissed off bride and taking her to a secluded cabin.
He wants one week to convince her they’re meant to be, to remind her of the fiery passion still burning between them.
When their time together is up, will she walk away and break his heart this time, or will he finally have the woman he’s wanted all along?
For fans of Carly’s Knight Brothers, Take The Bride is book two in that series.
Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.

Sexy, fun, entertaining and emotional second chance romance that will leave you breathless and wanting more in the best possible way…. This quick yet exciting journey is filled with interesting charters and an engaging story line. A great read from beginning to end.
Ryder, Ryder, Ryder….. I was invested from page 1. First Ethan question had me yelling.and the Ryder slight interruption. That was epic. The whole book was epic in the way the truths were.told and accepted. Poor Jason, NOT. I bet next time the fight will be in him. You are always told, “You never win a battle from the sidelines of by giving up. ” He did both. Oh well, the family wasn’t 100% sold anyway.
Great addition Carly. I was rooting for Ryder anyway.
I want a Ryder!!!!
Such a good book! I love this series. I felt bad that Ryder had broken up with Sierra when she graduated because he thought it was best for her. I loved that Ryder spoke up during the wedding. It made my heart happy when the two talked. You could see the love that both had for each other. I love her brothers and how they look after her. I know she feels smothered at times, but it has to be nice someone cares so much about her. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it.
Okay I am loving the Knight family and Sierra is just headstrong and stubborn as her brothers. I loved that Ryder in the past shows us he’s over Sierra but man the love is all there. Two days is all he has and boy readers be prepared for tons of hot passion and loving. Carly Phillips brings them together in a way that they never thought was possible and yet they finally get answers to their past. Now cannot wait for Ethan’s story and see what she does. Loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
Ethan asks Sierra more than once if she’s sure, as he walked her down the aisle. In spite of seeing Ryder and the memories that swamped her, she continued to the alter where Jason waited. Only to get the shock of her life.
It’s one thing to object at a wedding ceremony, it’s another to more or less steal the bride away.
Ryder has done both as he spirits Sierra away instead of talking to her at the church. Where they end up had me chuckling even as Sierra silently lets exhaustion override her.
Their past becomes their present as they come to understand what has happened between them, but can it be their future?
Full of passion and romance, this book is delightful.
Take the Bride: A Knight Brothers Novella (Kindle Edition) by Carly Phillips It may be a short book…but it is a huge story…. Ryder Hammond and Sierra Knight … high school sweethearts..his is her brother’s best friend… he ended it (he did it so she could spread her wings..he broke her heart. Sierra is getting married and he stands up and objects… I’ll tell no more except there are laughs, tears, the other Knight brothers and lots of steam all to get us to their very HEA. Carly I can’t wait for Ethan’s story.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Take the Bride is my first read by Carly Phillips and though this is a novella and part of the Knight Brothers series I never felt like I was missing something from not reading the other books.
The story starts in a church where Sierra Knight is about to be married. When the pastor asks if anyone has objections Ryder Hammond, Sierra’s high school sweetheart, is out of his seat and chaos ensues.
Ryder and Sierra’s story was a delightful, easy and fun read. Carly provides a lovely second chance romance that readers will fall for.
Sierra Knight is about to get married….not to the man she always thought she would (Ryder Hammond), but to a safe, secure man that will treat her well (Jason Armstrong). Imagine her surprise when the priest asks for any objections to her marriage and Ryder stands up and objects! After Jason storms out and the dust settles, Ryder convinces Sierra to come with him to talk and hear him out. A few hours later they end up in the Poconos at the type of honeymoon place Sierra always talked about. Ryder will do everything in his power to convince Sierra that she belongs with him. Now he just has to hope that she believes the same thing.
This was a fun, sexy novella. I really enjoyed the characters, the story and the perfect happy ending.
Ryder and Sierra. They were high school sweethearts and so much more. But that was then and now she’s marrying a different man. Will Ryder get closer?
I loved this novella. I am a fan of Carly Phillips and love the series this comes from. The Knight brothers are something themselves but their sister is a force herself. Sierra’s spirit is spunky and playful. She reacts to Ryder and her husband to be in vastly different ways. Ryder is the brothers best friend. He hasn’t stopped loving Sierra but lost his chance. What makes him stand up and object is what fairy tales are made of.
A great novella that made me fall in love with the Knight family
Take the Bride is both a second chance romance and lovers to enemies to lovers again. It is a double whammy! This book felt very organic and even with it being a novella, it was chocked full of emotions. Ryder and Sierra will make you root for them from the start. Watching their relationship unfold was pure joy. Pick this book up!
It’s funny how I don’t believe in second chance in real life but this is my favorite trope in books. And if there’s one thing Carly Phillips is great at is bringing two people back together.
This book could easily be a full length novel and I’d still be finishing it in one sitting. The Knight family series keeps impressing. Looking forward to starting Take me down next.

It’s Sierra’s big day and she has the normal jitters that any bride goes through while walking down the aisle. Until her eyes meet Ryder’s and you can say the rest of history. I really loved Sierra in Sebastian’s story, and I love her more now that I finished reading Take the Bride. This story will keep you on your toes and be rooting for these two. I loved this short read because you get the classy and sassy. You will love the chemistry that flows through Sierra and Ryder. Great addition to the 1001 Dark Night series.
TAKE THE BRIDE by Carly Phillips is book 1.5 in The Knight Brothers Series. This is the story of Ryder Hammond and Sierra Knight. I have read the previous book but feel you can make this a standalone book.
Sierra and Ryder were high school sweethearts until Ryder broker her heart. Now in the present day Sierra is set to marry Jason. Its the day of their Wedding and the minister is asking the question if anyone objects to this marriage and Ryder comes forward. Now Ryder is asking for time to prove that they should be together.
Quick easy read…loved it.
5 The Ultimate Second Chance Stars
This book is a perfect addition to the Knight Brothers series. This is Sierra, their baby sister’s story and truly it’s the ultimate second chance. Imagine being at the altar with the man you’ve agreed to spend the rest of your life with and someone actually objects when that pesky question is asked!!!
I felt so bad for her on one hand but on the other, the guy she’s marrying is NOT the man for her… I know this because of what happens when the ruckus starts! And Ryder is her first love and the man that is truly meant for her. Even after these last several years their connection and chemistry is STILL vibrant and alive.
We get to be on their quick and sexy journey back to finding their way back to each other. I laughed, I swooned and I cheered them on!! I’m so thrilled we got their story and Sierra and Ryder get the best HEA!!!
A quick read that still packs a mighty punch, Take the Bride is a second chance romance that captivated me, I loved everything about this book.
Ryder and Sierra were in love but that was many moons ago and that was before he made the decision without consulting her to change their life’s forever….. Now Sierra is about to marry another man and when the priest asks if anyone has any objections, speak now or forever hold your peace, Ryder speaks up, the groom leaves the church and Ryder takes off with Sierra to convince her that’s this time around he is here to stay…….
Second chance romance at its best and characters you will adore what more do you want in a great read. Ryder stole a piece of my heart and I really don’t think I’m getting it back anytime soon, Sierra is everything I admire in a woman she knows her mind, she is independent and focused and together these two are perfect. I connected to the whole family in this short read and I can’t wait to see where this very talented author takes us next.
I love the Knight family. This is a novella about Sierra, the younger sister and her knight in shining armor. She thinks she has found the suitable guy for her lifetime. Even if the passion isn’t the same as what she once had, he is a good man and she will be happy. But when Ryder, her first love and brother’s best friend, objects at her wedding, she has to admit the truth…There will never be another love like Ryder.
Can’t wait for the rest of the family to get their stories.

Take the Bride is a great novella for anyone who loves a second chance romance!!
This book is a novella built into the Knight Brothers Series by Carly Phillips. This book covers Sierra’s (the only sister in the Knight family) story. This is a great addition to this series but also is a great starting point for anyone who hasn’t read this series yet.
Take the Bride is the second book in this series by Carly Phillips. It is a standalone novella and is told in the third person Dual POV. I would suggest reading this series in order, because there are things in this story that would spoil the first book (Take Me Again) in my opinion. There are things that are talked about regarding Ethan that we find out about in the first book, so it will help in understanding the characters and the family dynamic better if read in order.
In this story we follow the second chance of Sierra and Ryder. Sierra and Ryder were high school sweethearts. Until Ryder decided to break things off with Sierra, so she could chase her dreams without being held back. He thought he was doing the right thing. Now years later Sierra has moved on and is about to marry Jason….or is she?? Read this story to find out what happens when Ryder interrupts Sierra’s wedding. Will these two find their way back to each other?? Can Sierra trust Ryder with her heart again??
I look forward to reading more in this series and to see how Parker and Ethan’s stories play out.
So if you are a fan of a second chance romance, this is a story you should definitely read!!
Sierra Knight stood at the doors of the church with her big brother Evan ready to walk down the aisle to Jason. Evan asked once again if she was sure… Surely she wasn’t making a mistake. Her heart is pounding, she looks around as they start down the aisle and sees him, Ryder Hammond..her first love, Her first everything. She is assaulted by memories of days gone by. Her heart speeds up, IS she making a mistake. She looks up and sees Jason there at the altar waiting for her. She keeps going.
As the preacher starts talking he gets to the objection part and out of nowhere Ryder stands up and does.. yes Sierra looked at him but not as a signal to stand up.. What happens next is every brides worst nightmare come true. Jason blows up, her brothers surround her and Ryder threatening bodily harm to him for screwing up the wedding..
She is devastated, Jason wont listen, the wedding is called off and as she is standing there in the wings of the church, Ryder offers her a way out, let him take her away.
So she leaves with him, she has nowhere really to go unless she goes home with one of her brothers, she has packed up all of her things in order to start her married life with Jason.
Ryder bundles her up in his car.
He decides that they need to talk away from everyone, meaning her brothers. He needs to come clean and tell her about why he broke up with her all those years ago. Can they start over, does she still have feelings for him like he does from her. He can tell the chemistry is still there…
Will she forgive him?
Great read with chemistry, and well written as always. Carly Phillips always draws the reader in with her fabulous story telling. I didn’t want to give too much away about what SIerra and Ryder have to overcome to see if they have a future together.
