August Shroeder, a burned-out teacher, has been sober since his nineteen-year-old son died. Every year he’s spent the summer on the road, but making it to Yellowstone this year means everything. The plan had been to travel there with his son, but now August is making the trip with Philip’s ashes instead. An unexpected twist of fate lands August with two extra passengers for his journey, two … half-orphans with nowhere else to go.
What none of them could have known was how transformative both the trip — and the bonds that develop between them — would prove, driving each to create a new destiny together.

I loved every single moment of this book. Catherine Ryan Hyde has an exquisite way of wringing big human emotions out of ordinary characters in small moments. Recommending this to everyone.

I love this book and this author!
Dialogue is realistic, snappy. It’s hard to put down, I wanted to know what happens next. Left me with a warm and fuzzy feeling. I’ve read several of her books and enjoyed each one.
This is seriously one of the best books I’ve ever read!
I love this Author!!
*Sniff* Grab Your Tissues. C.R.H is such a phenomenal story teller. She knows just how to put such raw, and real emotion into her words.
This one is about a gentleman named August and 2 young men named Seth and Henry. It’s about how people come into your life and change it in so many ways.
Definitely a must read fpr any C.R.H fan.
Take Me With You was a fantastic read about friendship. love and the strong bond between August, Seth, and Henry.
Take Me With You is the story of two boys whos father is very busy drinking his life away not having any moment for them. seeing as he doesn’t have so much to give and teach, he makes arrangements for them to travel around and …
I love all of her books.
I love everything CRH writes and this book may be my favorite. August is an interesting, complex man that I liked immediately. His interactions with everyone he meets on his journey shows his goodness and kindness.
For anyone who loves a good story that’s character-driven, I think you’ll love it.
Best book I have read in awhile. I loved the descriptions of the scenery and the characters were great. Must read.
I LOVED this book and the characters in it. I had a hard time putting it down while reading it. August, a patient, wonderful man and the 2 children who grew to love him. My book club is reading it this month at my recommendation and I will re-read it just because it was so good. I know they will love it just as much as I.
One of our best writers. Love her books. This book was beautifully written and I throughly enjoyed it.
Was a great storyline and different. All of her books have some kind of tragic events but the way they bonded was inspiring and a joy
This was the first book of Catherine Ryan Hyde that I read. I love her characters (so down-to-earth and believable). Every book seems to have a good message, while being entertaining.
One of her best books. It restored my hope in a future with compassion and respect.
Catherine Ryan Hyde does a beautiful job of describing a non-caring alcoholic father of two boys, who allows them to take off with another man who cares for them but has his own problems. An intelligent, warmhearted book with unforgettable characters.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book!
This was my first book by Catherine Ryan Hyde and certainly won’t be my last. The story pulled me in with widespread emotions that kept me captivated until the very end. We can’t always foresee the difference we make in another person’s life. This story is woven of 3 lives brought together in a most difficult …
It seems to me that this story is part novel, part fairy tale, and part parable. While the story line may be no realistic, the main point to me seems to be creation of family: different folks who bring their own successes and failures and offer a variety of assets to the main character and to each other. I truly loved reading it. Thanks
