Beautiful
Marley moved home after the robbery and attack on her in Seattle. Have has come back to reopen the lodge that his grandmother left him and his siblings. When they meet while she is walking the trails sparks fly. This come to help each other out and fall for each other.
Gotta love a retiring Seals story. I like the Alaska stories, too. So, double winner. I had to set aside realities of re-opening a ski area with multiple lifts and trails and lodge. After the first few multiple page sex scenes they got a bit redundant … so I skimmed the 7 pages of words for one night of sex … a couple of times. Story content was really good. Wanted to learn the stories of the other characters, too.
Heartwarming story has the whole town helping Gage re-open his family’s ski lodge and resort. Marley home to Alaska finds her self again while finding her place in Gage’s life as well.
I’ve read other books by this author and this small town romance is another great addition to her work. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Gage’s dreams come true and his protective alpha persona was extremely hot! Marley is an amazingly strong woman and is the perfect match to show Gage what he has been missing in his life. I can’t wait to see more of this small town and characters in the rest of the series.
Nice story, a bit repetitive tough. Landscape description, bedroom scene, progress of both MCs’ work, bedroom scene, meals with friends whose life revolve solely around the MCs, bedroom scene, emotional angst, more bedroom scenes… Wash, rince, repeat.
The plot is rather thin and don’t always make much sense (the bad guy makes some pretty dumb moves, so it’s sometimes hard to take him seriously). The romance is insta-lust, so there’s not much suspense there, and the rest of the story is pretty uneventful as everything the MCs try to do always magically works out perfectly for them. They need something or someone? The right person suddenly appears at their doorstep with the exact skills or knowledge needed.
So while I liked the characters, both main and secondary, I would have enjoyed a little more challenges thrown their way before they reached their happy ending.
Gage has lost his best friend, been discharged from the SEALs and lost his Grandma all in a short amount of time. Now he is determined to reopen the ski lodge his grandparents owned, what he doesn’t expect….Marley!
Marley has just recently returned to Diamond Creek, after an assault and robbery at her apartment in Seattle. While hiking on the lodge property, she is confronted by the sexiest man she has ever laid eyes on….Gage!
This was a smart story, well written and sexy as hell! The chemistry between the two of them is sizzling and steamy! Gage’s protective instinct kicks in when Marley starts getting strange emails. Now they are trying to figure out the reasons behind them and whether they are linked to the robbery.
This was a great start to the Last Frontier Lodge series and I can’t wait to dig into the rest!
As always, JH did not disappoint. Well written romance book with the emphasis on the people not on the sea and enough details about the town that you’ll wonder who’s next to fall.
Gage Hamilton is smoldering, single, an ex-military operative, and uninterested in anything resembling romance. His hot new neighbor, Marley, is definitely not part of his plans. She is too distracting for Gabe, who likes control. The last thing on Marley’s mind is romance. She recently returned home to Alaska, and she is buy trying to forget the past. Yet her past comes knocking and puts her safety at risk. Gage will do anything to protect Marley. – I loved this Alaska holiday romance. I loved Alaska when I visited there and always enjoy talk of the scenery and lifestyle. Gage and Marley were perfect for each other. They are both serious, smart, kind, and inexperienced with relationships. The author did a good job describing their chemistry and love. This is a great read.
I enjoyed this book steamy scenes but was in a right context. A good realistic story which I couldn’t put down. It has a tale as well as romance.
great series!!!
Loved it!!
I loved the people in the story
loved it!
I liked the descriptions of the Alaskan landscapes….could have done without the vivid descriptions of the sex though…
I loved how the main characters came together. Their past shapes their future in ways that seem unrelated but are actually very real. This is a multi part love story and each character is bound by the love of what was past.
A wonderful old town setting, a good old original small town bookworm girl that has no idea of her beauty and charm, and a Navy SEAL who is hurting from the loss of his best friend and grandmother that finds love without looking for it! A truly refreshing read!
I first started reading J.H. Croix through a promotion from InstaFreebies. My first book was actually Garrett’s story and from there I was hooked. I have now read 6 or 7 of her books in a month!
Her Frontier Lodge series is about a family that owns a lodge up in Alaska. Each book is about a sibling finding their true love. Each book is a Happy Ever After, but after one book you want to read the next to find out what happens with the rest of them.
This book is about Gage and Marley. Marley walked in on a home invasion and was terrified. She left her job and life in Seattle and moved back home to Diamond Creek, Alaska. Gage has just recently moved there after finding out he and his siblings inherited their grandparents lodge. He’s been a lost since coming back from war and losing his best friend.
The two meet and instantly have a strong chemistry. They both still have demons from their past so everything doesn’t go smoothly but they finally work it out.
I think I love J.H. Croix the most for her descriptive writing, and I’m not just talking about the romance scenes, which are really hot! She describes the town of Diamond Creek and all of Alaska so beautifully that I want to hop on a plane and go see it. As the book goes on and seasons change you can so clearly see the scenery, you feel like you are right there with the characters.
fun read
A very excellent read. Marley trying to overcome her fear after an attack on her in her aparment and Gage trying to overcome the loss of his best friend who happens to be a Navy Seal also. This takes place in Alaska and the ski lodge.
I got hooked on J.H. Croix from her Into the Fire & Swoon series, so I decided to check out more. I loved the Alaskan setting but I didn’t love this one as much as the other two series. Honestly I’m not sure much can top her Swoon series!!! So don’t think I hated this book, I didn’t, it was sweet, I just think she has come a long way since this! Take Me Home was the first book in her Last Frontier Lodge Series. It was cute, sexy and suspenseful!
When Marley’s world came crashing down, she decided it was time to head home. Being around family made her feel more secure. Little by little she started building back her life, but when she ran to Gage, would she be able to trust again?
Gage just wanted to forget. Reopening his grandparents ski lodge seemed like the perfect project. Running into Marley was not supposed to be in the plans. He didn’t do emotions, he didn’t do girlfriends but could Marley be the one to get him to change?
Gage and Marley were made for each other. I loved how they took it slow and built their connection. I am looking forward to reading more!
