This is a real feel-good story; with a great storyline, some lovely characters and a couple of twists. I loved it! It’s one of those books you can just become totally absorbed into and forget about the real world. I felt as if I knew everyone in the town and was part of their story, the sign of really good storytelling.
The characters are well written and very real. I loved Maddie, she is quiet and unassuming, but when she meets Gray again, after ten years, he brings her out of herself. Gray is well, perfect really, and I adored the way he was so caring. I loved the conflicts in their relationship, nothing overly dramatic to be unbelievable but enough to instil some drama into their story.
It was a little predictable where the story would go, however this didn’t detract from my enjoyment of reading the book at all. This is the first book in a new series from Carrie Elks and if the others, about Gray’s brothers, are as good I for one will be downloading them. I recommend you download this one too.
