Parker Knight was going through the motions… and then he met her. Parker Knight lived and lost his dream. Now he works for his family’s business, wearing a suit and pretending to be happy. One look at Emily and the run down bed and breakfast … run down bed and breakfast and suddenly Parker has a purpose. He turns his short stay into a longer one, intending to act on the intense chemistry and desire that runs hot between them. Yet no matter how hot they burn or how well they mesh, Parker’s time with her has an expiration date. And Emily has an ex who refuses to accept that their relationship is over.
Parker isn’t a man who gives up. Sweet, sexy Emily Stevens is his chance to reclaim his life. He wants to take care of this woman who makes him feel … everything. I love seeing a strong woman, especially when she shows some weakness and vulnerability. That is what this book is all about. Emily was “weak” with her ex-husband, but it was unknowingly. When she finally realized it she got out. Good for her. But she was never going to find herself in the same position. Until now.
Enter Parker Knight. Another city slicker, alpha, in charge man. Well no thank you. No matter how much she wanted him gone, he stayed. And as each day passed, she became more open and vulnerable with him. They were meant to be, but neither was quite ready for it. Love hit them like an out of control boulder down the side of a mountain.
Watching their interactions was entertaining. But also heartwrenching when they decided to be open with each other and bare their worst. Add in Harper to the mix and laughs were all around. But the best part was watching Parker stand up to Ethan and put him in his place. I think Ethan has alot of work ahead of him to get on Emily’s good side, but if anyone can do it, he can.
Parker is going through the motions of life since a tragic accident when he finds himself stranded in a small town. Emily is trying to recover from a horrible relationship and her mother’s death. To her Parker is everything she should avoid. And Parker is only in town for a short period but neither of them can deny their chemistry. Great quick read and I cannot wait for the next book!
This was a good read for me. The writing flowed well, and Parker and Emily had great chemistry. There wasn’t a lot of drama between them in this story, just a situation of wrong time, wrong place. I thought Parker was a good guy, and I liked the way he tried to help everyone he thought could use it. Emily was okay, but I did get really frustrated at her for how she treated her dad. I can’t imagine the pain from the loss of a parent, but she kept pushing her dad to give up his dreams and refused to see that the inn made him happy. Emily eventually came around though. I was happy to see everything work out for Parker and Emily though, and I think Ethan’s story will be a good one.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
This is the story of Parker and Emily. This story was great. To fall in love miles away from your home and eventually make it work out is a feat in itself. Parker finds a way. Emily doesn’t want a repeat of her past, which didn’t work out at all. There are a lot of secrets in this story, which are heartbreaking, to say the least. The author’s writing brings all things within the story together beautifully, and in the end all is well. I’m looking forward to the next Knight Brothers story.

The next book in the Knight Brothers series centers around middle brother, Parker. Set adrift in his life after losing his fiancée in a horrific car accident, as well as his passion for being the Olympic Skier that he was, begrudgingly Parker returns home to work for the family business. Older brother, Ethan, decides that Parker is the right brother to send to Colorado to scout a location for a work retreat.
Even though Parker hasn’t been on skis for a while now, he knows what he’s looking for. Not satisfied with the resort that Ethan’s interested in, Parker takes a drive to see what else he can find and his car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. The mechanic sends him over to the only place in town that may have rooms, mostly because it’s not really open for business.
Emily Stevens is hoping that her father will slow down, move to Florida to stay with her sister and forget all about running the B&B that was her mother’s dream before her death. The B&B need a lot of work (and money) to get it off the ground and they just don’t have it. Emily came home from Chicago a year ago when her mother became ill, not to mention running from her controlling husband, Rex, who wouldn’t let her think for herself.
When Parker shows up on her doorstop, all Emily can see is a charming city slicker that reminds her way too much of her ex. She wants nothing to do with him. But her father overrules her and Parker is allowed to stay while his rental is being worked on. Emily is one of the first women that Parker has felt anything for since he lost his fiancée. But Emily is keeping him at arm’s length, knowing his time in Colorado is short.
As you can imagine, that doesn’t last very long. This story has a lot to offer ~ steamy tension, humor, misunderstandings, a persistent not-so-charming ex, small town community, and good intentions that aren’t being taken at face value. Definitely NOT to be missed!
Parker Knight doesn’t know what he’s missing until he comes upon the little inn in the middle of Colorado. It doesn’t take him long to figure out that Emily Stevens has stolen his heart. But how will they make a long distance relationship work? His life is in New York. She is tied to the Inn and her family.
This is the third in a series and it is classic Carly Phillips. I always love reading her series, especially the family based stories like the Dare’s and now the Knights. Parker and Emily share a sweet story about overcoming demons of the past and moving on together.
Take Me Down is another fabulous book in the Knight Brothers series! Carly Phillips has given us yet another couple to love with Take Me Down, a short sweet read full of emotion!
Parker and Emily were a great couple. Their chemistry was amazing, the banter between the two was fun to read and I loved watching their relationship develop through the course of the book. It was truly an engaging story and I’m excited for the next book in the series!
Parker Knight has been barely living his life since his career ending knee injury that took him out of contention for the Olympics. Sure he works with his siblings, but his heart just isn’t into it. When Parker heads to Colorado to find a location for the company’s retreat, his car breaks down in the small town of Montlake, CO. When his car won’t be fixed for a few days Parker checks into a rundown little bed and breakfast run by Emily Stevens and her father, James. Something about Emily stirs emotions that Parker hasn’t felt in a long time and he has suddenly found a purpose for his life.
Emily sees Parker and knows his type….rich, city slicker and she wants nothing to do with him probably because he reminds her of her abusive ex-husband. As Emily and Parker spend more time together, it is very obvious that they are both attracted to each other. Emily decides to give in to her attraction because it will only be temporary. What she doesn’t realize is that Parker is feeling very protective of her and her father and wants to help finance the money they need to fix up of the B&B. Just when it looks like Emily and Parker are going to find their happy ending, family and an ex-husband try to shake things up. It will take a huge change in everyone’s life to get to their happiness but it ends up beautifully along with a perfectly designed ring!
I really loved Parker and Emily. Parker didn’t have any direction in his life anymore until he met Emily and then he could finally see what he had been missing. Emily was still reeling from a bitter divorce and was not looking for love but when that perfect person just happens to come into your life, you can’t help but jump. It was a perfect story, with a perfect ending!
Carly Phillips gave her readers all the yumminess with Parker “Switzerland” Knight’s book in Take Me Down! I’ve wanted to know and understand Parker more from the first time we met him. For the most part, he seems to just go with the flow with is chaotic family, yet I knew there had to be more to him. When he is sent to find a location for a business retreat in Colorado, he finally starts to wake from the stupor he has been living in since his wreck that ended his professional skiing career and the loss of the young love of his life. Thanks to rental car trouble, Parker ends up needing to stay and the small rundown B&B run by Emily Stevens and her father.
First of all I loved that Parker and Emily were each attracted to one another from the moment they met, even though they didn’t start off on the best footing. Emily, as we find out later, has major trust issues with “big city men”, and Parker had to prove to her he wasn’t like other big city men she knew in the past. I loved that Parker seemed to finally wake up once there and he finally was able to voice how much he didn’t enjoy being in the family business. I loved the pacing of Emily and Parker’s romance. I really did feel like they started off as new friends before finally taking that step to lovers. They chemistry was there from the beginning and I loved seeing them finally act on their attraction. There was both a heat and a sweetness to this romance.
Parker is a pretty take charge kind of guy once he makes him mind up about something. He also was super protective of Emily and wanted to give her everything she wanted. I loved Emily was such a strong woman that not only could she take care of herself, but she wanted to work for her dreams. I loved that Parker understood Emily and loved her so much he wanted to help her follow her dream rather than taking over her dream. I won’t lie, I have mad love for Parker after reading Take Me Down.
I loved getting time with the other Knight siblings in Take Me Down as well. I’ve adored each of the books in this series so far, and am on the edge of my seat waiting for Ethan’s story. Carly Phillips once again delivers with a beautiful story that will capture reader’s hearts.

A wonderful story about Parker and Emily. There is so much emotion in this quick read by Carly Phillips. Emily is afraid to let Parker in when she meets him while he is scouting for a retreat location and meets Emily and her father at their run down B&B. But Parker proves irresistible and their loves blossoms hot and fierce. Great second story in the Knight Brothers series.

3.5 Stars
Parker has all the money he could possibly want and Emily has a run down bed and breakfast that was her parents’ dream but most certainly isn’t hers.
What I loved about this story is that it’s about 2 people who are not quite sure they are where they want to be, but aren’t sure how to make the changes or if they want to. Watching them figure this out, while enjoying their connection made for a great read. It was light, and enjoyable…but also one that you could become involved in because you like both of the characters.
Part of me thought that the resolution of the was a little too easy, maybe a little too neat…but, it also worked overall. The connection between the characters was strong enough that I believed the end result, even if I thought it was a little easier than it would have been in real life.
Overall, I enjoyed this title and I recommend it.

Take Me Down is book 3 in the Knight Brothers series by Carly Phillips. Such an awesome new series.. whatever Carly Phillips writes I will read!!!!!
Parker Knight, sexy alpha, former Olympic skier and works in the family business which doesn’t feel right but after being injured, suffered a devastating loss and knowing he can never compete again the family business is all he has left…until he is sent to look at a new place in Colorado for a company retreat…a run down B&B and all the potential to help him heal his heart…
Emily Stevens, feisty, culinary trained baker and emotionally abused by her ex, she moves back home to help her dad with the B&B and do the repairs to get it up to full potential and maybe get her dad to sell and move away to a place better suited to his health…according to her. When she meets Parker, he reminds her of a city slicker just like her ex and wants no parts of him…
Can Parker prove he’s the man for her, show her the B&B’s full potential, show her not all men are like her ex and find their HEA together or will Emily close her heart to what’s in front of her???
I have to start with I’m really loving this series of stand-alone’s centred around The Knight Brothers and book 2 is Parker Knight’s story.
Parker Knight is going through the motions since his career as a champion Skier was cut short by a bad knee injury, he is now part of the family business but his heart is not really in it so when he gets a chance to head out to Colorado to find a retreat for the company he jumps at it but his car breaks down in the small town of Montlake. The only place to stay while he waits on the repairs is a small run down B&B run by Emily Stephens and her father, Emily does not warm up to Parker and to be honest she would rather he wasn’t there but something about this woman gets his emotions going and that’s something Parker hasn’t felt for a while…..
Opposites not only attract, they combust!
Emily thinks she knows Parker’s type and she wants nothing to do with him and his rich, city slicker ways, maybe it’s because he is too much like the ex husband she is trying to get over. But can she refuse the help that she and her father so desperately need to keep her fathers dream alive…..
This is a quick read but it still packs a mighty punch, it still has characters you will adore and it’s a story that will captivate you. A story that has the perfect mix of love, passion and some humour all help make this a great read. Looking forward to more from the Knight Brothers.
This is another great read and addition to a great series. Parker and Emily are a great couple that help each other through their difficult pasts. I loved the way they met and how they interacted with each other. Carly Phillips never disappoints and this is another wonderful read. I am waiting (not patiently) the next addition to this series Dare Me Tonight.
There is a lot of emotional baggage that these two are carrying around. Parker is still looking for peace and is just living without any real purpose. Emily is trying to discover who she really is after having been mentally abused by her ex.
Their beginning was a bit rocky but with Parker’s persistence she slowly started to let her walls down. The story is beautifully paced and it has me in happy tears by the end of it.
The Knight family has grown on me and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

5 Finding Love When They’re Not Looking Stars!!!
Parker Knight has been somewhat of a mystery to me within the previous books in this series. We all knew something had happened that really made him into the very quiet, sometimes broody man he is and boy oh boy now we all know, and my heart just really hurt for him. When he’s sent to Colorado by Ethan to scope out locations for their corporate retreat, his entire life changes and all for the better!
Emily is a young woman that doesn’t have time for love right now since she’s trying to divest herself of her A-Hat of a husband and she’s focused on her dad and their B&B that really isn’t sustaining their way of living when Parker blows into her life and changes everything from top to bottom.
These two were combustible from their first meeting they just didn’t want to admit it so they dance around their feelings until they just can’t stand it anymore. And when Parker decides he wants her, nothing will stop him from giving her everything she’s ever dreamed of…except this woman is so NOT the type of woman that Parker has experienced in the past and I LOVED this about her.
She’s fiercely independent and this is what I feel made Parker gravitate to her because he’s not had women in the past that didn’t want a piece of him so he’s ready for the proverbial chase and their feelings and love blossom quickly. Add into this his willingness to help with her family’s B&B and her baking business that she’s always dreamed about and you’d think there’d be an immediate HEA…but Ms. Phillips gives us so much more.
There’s love and devotion but also some outside interferences that could change what they both know is the greatest love they’ve ever had. These added elements made this story so much more intriguing. I loved how Parker fell for Emily and in turn made her understood that it’s okay to love again! And we cannot forget the sizzling hot chemistry these two have because they’re on fire together!!!
I cannot wait for Ethan’s book because he so desperately needs to take a chill pill and find love again!!
This is the story of Parker Knight and Emily Stevens, the next in the Knight family series. Parker is an ex-Olympic skier whose dreams were sidelined due to multiple injuries, adding to that he feels totally responsible for an accident that killed the woman he loved.
After his dream of the Olympics is over, Parker takes his place in the family business, doing what is expected of him but never feeling completely fulfilled. He knows something is missing and while he loves being with his siblings, he can’t help but feel a restfulness that he can’t overcome. After being sent on a quest to locate the perfect ski resort for the company retreat, Parker finds himself stranded when his car breaks down in Colorado . The only place to stay, a run down B&B owned by Emily Stevens and her father.
Not fond of men these days, the beautiful Emily is leery of allowing the gorgeous man who appears at her door to stay at her home. Given the situation, she gives in and Parker finds himself falling not only for Emily but loving the town and wanting to help her make their dreams a reality. Parker is a man on a mission, he’s found his purpose, and is finally finding a peace in his heart with Emily. Once he determines in his mind Emily is the one he wants he doesn’t give up.
This is a wonderful journey of finding the place you belong in life and the one person who is your match. Parker and Emily’s story is emotional and heart warming but it is also off the charts sexy and has the element of hotness that the Knights are known for!! You won’t want to miss this book and catch up on the other siblings from the prior two books along with Ethan, whose story is next.
Take Me Down by Carly Phillips is the second book in The Knight Brothers Series and was a fun, quick read with great characters. We met the Knights in Take Me Again, the first book in the series and though you could read these as standalone, it is a better experience to read in order.
Parker Knight loves his family, but even so feels like something is missing. When his brother asks him to source out a resort for a company retreat, he goes. But he never expected to meet Emily Stevens. Emily has been hurt in the past an does not need a man in her life, especially one who reminds her of her past. There is chemistry between Parker and Emily, even as Emily tries and keep Parker at arm’s length. But Parker is one determined man.
I loved reading Take Me Down by Carly Phillips. It was a charming and engaging story. It was emotional, but also had some of the best feels. It was great seeing old friends and I am very excited to get Ethan’s story next.

Happy reading!
Parker goes on a mission, to find a place for a company retreat. The place he goes to doesn’t meet his expectations. On his way back home he has car trouble, so he stops in at Emily and her Father’s bed and breakfast. Emily is a baker who moved back home after her separation. Her Mother has passed away, and her Father runs their B & B, that needs some work done. Parker gives James, her Dad, money for the upkeep. Emily wants him to sell the B & B and move to Florida to be closer to other family, she worries that she will loose him like her Mom. She wants him to retire and enjoy it. He wants to run the Inn and make it wonderful for the memory of his wife.
Although the two are opposites attract, they belong together. I cannot wait for the stories about the rest of the family.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
This wonderful read quickly captivated me and had me rooting for Parker and Emily every step of the way. The well written storyline is rich with emotion and easily keeps you entertained and also fully engaged. I thought that Parker was a simply amazing character. An enticing combination of wounded hero and alpha male made him heart melting and swoon worthy. Emily had her own heavy baggage. She was independent, strong and had a big heart. Loads of sparks, witty barbs, a fierce attraction, tons of emotional turmoil, drama, sweet love and steamy passion all combine to create a delightful read.
