Parker Knight might just have the BIGGEST kindest heart! Parker might just be my favorite Knight – well until the next book. This series just keeps getting better and I can’t pick a favorite just yet. Emily and Parker couldn’t be more perfect for each other. Carly, you’re writing was spot on with this book. You had me loving these two from the very beginning and then throwing in the little suspense with the ex was so good.
P.S. I would love to see Emily’s BFF get a book about getting together with the mechanic.
4.5 Stars
I really enjoyed this book. I really love this series. The characters are so great. I loved where Emily lives. I want to go visit there myself. Emily and her town are exactly what Parker needs. He’s dealing some things they prey on his mind a lot, but with Emily is finally truly healing. Parker is good for Emily as well because he can help her take back her life. It’s a well rounded book with heat, heart, humor, and suspense. It’s a book you want to gobble right up, but one you hate to see end.
“Opposites not only attract, they combust!” >>> why yes, yes they do in this story! But do not be fooled, these two sparked, but this story also packed a punch to the heart! #TRUST
For me, what stood out the most in the story is Parker and Emily’s circumstance. Both were at a point in their lives where they weren’t *doing/being* who they *wanted/should* be, but neither had a clue how to get past it or even if they could. Kinda like stuck in a rut, I guess. Emily was running a B&B that wasn’t her dream and Parker was just going thru the motions, as the blurb says LOL SO yeah, neither were #winning at life but then they met … and it was heartwarming to read their discovery journey about themselves as well as their journey to HEA. All of it was intertwined in a package full of heart and I just loved it!
Honestly, Carly Phillips is not an author that disappoints. So if heartwarming with heat is your thing … one click away 🙂
A fast-paced tale of grabbing life’s second chances! He thought he had his chance years ago at love and living the dream … she thought she was marrying forever. Life happened. He was left without a dream to pursue anymore … she was left disillusioned and bitter. Meeting each other opens their eyes to what life still has to offer … they just need to reach out and grab it with both hands! Fun characters, a fulfilling story line and an ideal happily ever after.
Parker Knight lost his dream years ago, then dusted himself off and got to work with his siblings at the swanky family business. He has an okay life, but it’s mostly going through the motions of what’s expected of him … until circumstances bring feisty Emily into his life!
Emily Stevens came home to lick her wounds after an emotional abusive marriage to the wrong guy. She knows the Bed and Breakfast that her Dad has his heart set on keeping is just a money pit waiting to crumble, but she’s not sure how to make him see the truth. Until Parker sets out to help!
Short but oh so sweet read packed with lots of emotions. Parker and Emily were adorable and had something’s in common. They both suffered different types of loss and were coping in their own way. She fought her attraction to him but he showed her from the beginning that he was attracted to her. She finally let herself live and gave in. She realized that Parker was nothing like her ex-husband. Parker knew she was the woman for him and would do anything to see her happy. These two deserved their happy ending.
WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! Parker and Emily’s story in Take Me Down, book two in The Knight Brothers series by Carly Phillips is definitely a winner. Since a career ending injury forced him out of Olympic competition Parker Knight is barely living his life. He might work for with his siblings but he is restless and unhappy; his heart is just not into it. Parker agrees to go to Colorado to find a location for the company’s retreat. When his car breaks down outside a small town and won’t be fixed for a few days, Parker checks into a bed and breakfast. This B&B is a bit rundown and operated by baker Emily Stevens and her father James. Maybe it’s something in the air, or maybe it’s the fatigue Parker has been living with, but Emily makes Parker feel emotions he hasn’t felt in a long time. Helping out this father and daughter suddenly gives Parker a purpose to his life. Emily is recovering from an abusive and controlling ex-husband. She believes that Parker is made of the same cloth, despite being attracted to him. Emily gives in to her attraction for Parker because she believes it will be temporary. Life just doesn’t always work that way. Parker has finally figured out what he was missing in life and what he now wanted to do with his life. First, he becomes he helps her father by loaning the money to repair and fix up the B&B. Parker also agrees to help Emily and her best friend expand the coffee shop so they can offer Emily’s baked goods. As Parker and Emily begin to finally believe that all is right with their world, the stars are lined up in perfect order, reality strikes. First there’s the visit from Parker’s big brother Ethan questioning Parker’s intentions and these new directions in his life. After Parker leaves Emily’s ex-husband returns and tries to shake things up thinking that with nothing left for her in that small town, Emily would have to return to him. That is definitely not going to happen!! But it is going to take the magic of love and life changes before Parker and Emily do get that chance for happiness, together.
Ms. Phillips wrote a wonderfully emotional and moving story filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, some introspection and endearing characters that is definitely not to be missed. I highly recommend Take Me Down to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I Loved it! Great story line, well written, so easy to get attached to all the characters in the story. Emily is a little stubborn but only wants what’s best for her dad. Parker is determined to help Emily and her father hang onto his dream B&B and make it what he has always dreamed of. Loved the chemistry between Parker and Emily and the relationship they develop. Can’t wait to see what Carly Phillips has in store for us next.
3-3.5 stars.
This was a fun read.
This time we have Parker and Emily, they meet while he gets stranded passing through a small town and her father’s B&B is the only place where he can stay.
Emily is just coming out of a divorce (or at least trying to) and she finally wants to focus on herself and the little town she adores. Since losing her mom not long ago, she worries for her father, which is why she doesn’t want him to run the B&B anymore. However, he’s super stubborn and doesn’t make it easy on her.
On the other hand, Parker is kind of just moving with the flow in his life. He doesn’t know what he really wants, he needs direction. So he thinks it’s great when he meets Emily and her father and sees how he can help them with the B&B.
Anyway, this is a bit of a problem for them, but that’s the little drama that shows this story. I liked that they talk about things, instead of letting them fester. There is some ups and downs, but nothing over the top. It was fun watching them fall in love, and trying to figure out how they can be together considering they live in opposite sides of the country.
All in all, a fun read and looking forward to reading about Ethan.
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*
Parker Knight is sent by his overbearing brother Ethan to look at some lodges for a corporate treat for their company and since Parker knows ski lodges, Ethan sends him to check them out.
Parker gets stranded in a small Colorado town when his car breaks down and the one and only place to stay is at Emily’s dads bed and breakfast.
Emily doesn’t want anything to do with Parker, he reminds her of her slimy ex-husband. Even he is drop dead gorgeous she doesn’t want anything to do with him. And she surely doesn’t want to be attracted to him.
Parker takes a liking to the spitfire and her dad and his ideas for the Ruby Rose Inn, a bed and breakfast dream he and his late wife had. Emily wants him to sell it and move to Florida. Emily is overprotective of her dad since she lost her mom.
Can she loosen the strings and let Parker help her dad fulfill his dream of getting the Inn up and running or will she stay close minded to what her dad wants? Can Parker convince her hes a good guy and only wants to help her and her dad succeed?
“He hadn’t intended to tie himself to the town but that was exactly what he’d done. But the strongest of the roots he’d be leaving here was his heart.”
Parker Knight is a businessman. In his suit and tie, he strolls through the streets of Manhattan, where his family’s business is. But this is not the life that makes him happy. An accident in the past has changed the course of his career and brought him a difficult guilt to overcome. Now, a task given by his older brother and a broken car in the middle of Colorado will lead him to a meeting that may, once again, change his life.
Emily Stevens has a degree in gastronomy and has lived in Chicago. She met a handsome prince and lived a fairy tale. Until she saw the true colors of her husband and her castle of cards crumbles. Her mother’s illness, the discovery of her husband’s real intentions and an accident make her return to her hometown and rethink her life.
Both have a past to handle and things to overcome. More and more, Parker delights himself with the city and with the charming and strong-minded girl, full of talent in the kitchen and who does everything to keep him away. After two painful losses and getting rid of a controlling husband, all Emily does not want is to fall for another big city cocky guy. But resisting Parker’s charm is getting harder and harder.
Yes, it is a cliché with a predictable end. Full of tenderness, which shows the importance of family, forgiveness, second chances. Especially giving a second chance to ourselves. A reading to warm the soul and the heart.

This book was sweet, swoony and so easy to get lost in! Emily is living in her hometown, loving what she’s doing and trying to move on from her ex of a past. She’s had some hard things thrown at her and because of that, she holds on to her dad a little too tightly. She wants the best for him and doesn’t want him to get hurt. In doing so, she also smothers him. She’s a mother hen. At one time, she moved away but now that she’s back, she hasn’t allowed herself to let her wings out and soar. Parker’s arrival was unexpected for both of them but the more he got to know her, the more he liked her. Whereas Emily was not happy with his arrival. Both Parker and Emily are on a path of growth and looking to do something they love. Their unexpected meeting was just a bonus! I enjoyed the chemistry between this couple. I liked Parker’s directness and his willingness to stay the course, if you will. This was a sweet read and I can’t recommend it enough! Grab your copy!
Take me Down by Carly Phillips is another great read about the Knight Brothers. Parker is still lost over losing his career and his fiancé and he is trying to find himself but he never expects to find himself while he is going on a trip to search for a place to have the company retreat. Emily has moved back home after a disastrous marriage and trying to find her way after that and losing her mom. Will Parker and Emily find what they need in each other or will they both push each other away? Carly writes amazing stories and this one is no different. She will pull at your heart and make you want to keep reading. I recommend reading this book and book one neither one will disappoint.
Ethan had a valid point but Parker had a mission to find himself and his purpose. Although, he had his doubts of checking out the resort because of his demons, a long drive and a messed up rental led his to his answers.
I enjoyed Emily and Parker. They had me at “hello”. Both having crazy past and hearts of gold, they just fit. Letting the attraction lead the way they found friendship, solace, understanding, and a true partnership. Protection and space was key in Parker pursuit and boy did he deliver.
Take Me Down is book 2 in The Knight Brothers Series and I am dying to get my hands on book 1 now that I have read book 2.
I absolutely love Parker and Emily as well as many of the other characters I was introduced to throughout the story. From the moment I started reading I was hooked and could not put this book down. I loved how Parker was so willing to help out Emily and her father even though he really had no reason to feel as connected as he did. I also loved how strong and independent Emily was. She was really set on providing for herself and not depending on anyone to make her dreams come true.
This book really did have it all, amazing characters, a fabulous story line, some serious chemistry and a little bit of drama and suspense. I can not wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. A must read for sure. By Alisa
I love the Knight family and I am still hurting for Ian. He plays a role in this story, but the light shines on his little brother Parker. I feel for the hero of this story. I can feel how he is lost and just trying to fit in a world that he does not belong to. He needs the outdoors. He needs a new dream. With demons crawling from the past, he does not seem like he will ever find happiness again. I hurt for Parker.
Emily is our strong heroine. She has a lot going on, but I can relate to her as a constant worrier. She has so much love that you can feel through each page you are reading. The chemistry with the characters goes unnoticed.
I loved Emily and Parker’s story so much. Sweet, sexy, with all the feels. TAKE ME DOWN is the perfect summer read!

This is the second book in the Knight brothers series. I would highly recommend reading the first book and also the novella, Take the Bride, which is their sister Sierra Knight. That being said our author will give you enough bits and bobs so you understand the goings on without reading the other books but reading them it makes this book so much more “alive” I would say. Okay on with my thoughts on Take Me Down.
This is Parker Knight and Emily Stevens story to be told and what a story it is. Parker is the Knightly brother that is somewhat hidden from view after his Olympic career ended not once but twice due to injuries. I wished we knew more about the second injury. Horrible as it appears to be…what little the author told us left me wanting to know more. There are places I as a reader wanted and needed to know more and that is the only reason i could not give this book 5 stars. I needed more from the ex boyfriend angle as well. I know , I know I am not the writer but as a reader that was simply something that I needed to close out the book in a neat little bow.
Parker and Emily are great as a couple and do work and this book has all the feel goods that a good book needs. This Knight brother walks into the night and steals Emily’s heart without her even knowing it LOL… no car it was with the mechanic her date later that week.
I am so looking forward to Ethan’s book. Let’s hope our author takes him on the ride of his life. He deserves it after Mandy.
Don’t miss the second full length book in the Knight Brothers… Parker is so HOT!
Sexy, fun, witty and emotionally thrilling romantic adventure filled with interesting charters, drama and undeniable passion…. a exciting read that had me devouring it in a few highly entertaining hours. This is a excellent read from beginning to end, love this series!
This is book 2 in the Knight Brothers series and it features Parker and Emily. Parker has had a rough time at life. He’s been through so much, repeatedly. It may have been intrusive of Ethan but I’m glad he brought in the private investigator. This is a story about learning to live again after so much tragedy. Both Parker and Emily have been through a lot. It was perfect between them until life got in the way. I didn’t see any way it could work out.
This is a scorching HOT romance with a fantastic story line and awesome characters. I can’t wait for the next book!
