Saying “I Do” has never been such a mess. Marlee Medford just got dumped. Yes, things have become ho-hum in her longtime relationship, but she was two days away from walking down the aisle with the man she thought was her forever when he called it off. Convincing herself that they’d be able to reignite their spark once the wedding craziness settled? That was easy. Suddenly finding herself without … finding herself without a fiancé? Not so much. Marlee needs to regain control of her life, and a weekend away with her friends is a solid first step.
One of Denver’s best up-and-coming chefs, perpetual bachelor Eli Howard, isn’t into serious relationships—especially the kind that ends in marriage. As if to prove his point that they aren’t worth the trouble, the wedding he was supposed to be catering just fell apart. Feeling oddly protective of the jilted bride—his little sister’s best friend—his weekend plans now involve a trip to Sin City with her group of friends. But it looks like he had a bit too much fun in Vegas when he wakes up married…wedding night included.
Marlee’s attempts at getting her life back together are failing miserably. Her ex-fiancé is taking the house, her chihuahua is intent on a love affair with Eli’s sneakers, and she’s now accidentally hitched to the guy who can’t even say the word marriage. With their quickie annulment denied, Eli and Marlee just have to hang tight until the divorce goes through. It’s just a little divorce amongst friends, what’s the worst that could happen?
Take It Off the Menu is book three of the Mile High Matched series, but stands alone and can be read in any order. If you love a hunky caterer and an accidental marriage then this book is for you! Buy now for a fun, friends-to-lovers romance!

Interesting take on an accidental marriage! Marlee has been planning her wedding for over a year, and two days before her hard work comes to fruition, her fiancé decides to break it off all while thinking it can be done amicably. Leaning on the support of her friends, she packs up her belongings and decides to take a long weekend in Vegas to get her mind off of it. While there, her best friend’s brother, Eli, tags along in order to keep the girls in line as they have a history of getting rowdy. Joke is on him, because after a drunken night and a dare, Marlee and Eli end up married! Due to Marlee’s wealth, upon arrival home, the entire city knows and her parents have effectively cut her off, and when confronting them, finds her ex-fiancé there and her parents taking his side. Turning to the only person she has, her husband Eli, he takes her in, and while waiting for the divorce to go through, end up learning more about each other both personally and professionally, and while there was no attraction before, there is now. As they start a relationship, they seem to fall hard and fast, but the question is if their budding relationship will end up stronger than the potential divorce. This was definitely a romantic comedy of a read and was enjoyable with the different antics between the characters. I really enjoyed how Marlee found herself after being determined to survive without her money, and the growth in her was pretty awesome!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
*I received an arc from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*. This is the first book I’ve read by Christina Hovland & I absolutely loved it!! It was funny, emotional & well written. I loved Eli & Marlee and the rest of the characters. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series along with the rest of her books. The only thing the book needed was an epilogue at the end. She did have a bonus epilogue to download on Book Funnel but it should of just been part of the book. I highly recommend this book & author!!
This hilarious, well-written contemporary romantic comedy is a real page turner. The characters are likable and the romance is heart-warming. I highly recommend that you access the bonus scene from the link provided at the end of the book. It is wonderful! I am looking forward to reading the other entries in Ms. Hovland’s “Mile High Matched” series.
A great accidental marriage romantic comedy. Eli and Marlee’s story was sweet and sexy. Loved how they built on their past to find their future together. Babushka and her gang made me laugh out loud. Lothario was the perfect sidekick.
Christina Hovland writes characters that I wish I could be friends with. Can’t wait for the next book in the Mile High Matched series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
I loved this book! This is the third installment in the Mile High Matched series, and I am loving this series more with each book. The book starts with Marlee Medford getting dumped by her long term boyfriend Scott two days before their huge wedding. Not only is she getting dumped, but Scott wants to keep their house, and still wants to work for her dad (he actually told her father before he told Marlee about calling off the wedding). Marlee is upset (more about cancelling the wedding than ending it with Scott), so she and her bridesmaids and their brother Eli all go to Vegas to let loose. Eli has always taken care of his sisters and Marlee. He really doesn’t want to do relationships. Of course, after a drunken night, the get married and will have to wait 90 days before they can divorce. Once she gets back to town, her parents cut her off and she has to move in with the new hubby. This has a lot of laughs, an amorous chihuahua named Lothario and a couple of Babushka sightings. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I received a ARC of this book from the author for my honest review.
A delicious treat that will have you asking for seconds! Sweet, sexy, and so full of fun. Take It Off the Menu is filled with humor, surprises and fantastic characters. Lothario and Babushka are definitely scene-stealers that will make you laugh-out-loud. A perfect read if you’re looking for a feel-good friends-to-lovers rom-com to smile and swoon over. Eli and Marlee’s story is a great addition to the Mile High Matched series whether you’ve read them all or not, but you’ll surely want to – once you read one, you’ll want to dive back in for more fun!
Marlee Medford has been planning a wedding for two years when her fiancé calls it off two days beforehand. She’s shocked despite knowing that there hasn’t been a spark between them for awhile. To get her mind off things, she and her friends decide to go to Las Vegas for the weekend. Her best friend’s brother, Eli, goes along to keep the girls out of trouble. Eli Howard is an up and coming chef and perpetual bachelor. Following up on a dare, Eli and Marlee get married and find out they can’t get an annulment so they start divorce proceedings when they return home. Meanwhile, Marlee’s parents cut her off when she won’t marry her fiancé so she moves in with Eli and finds work. Can the two of them hold on until the divorce is finalized or is there more to their marriage and relationship than they think?
I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book and read it in one sitting. The story draws you in from the beginning and keeps your interest throughout. You’ll find yourself laughing out loud in places and facing other emotions as well. The book was well-written with well-rounded characters. Many of the characters are those you’ve already met throughout the series who fit in the storyline perfectly. I was cheering for Eli and Marlee and love the way they worked together to find out what they needed. I highly recommend this book and the series which I suggest you read in order.

I received and ARC of this book from the author. I really enjoyed the third book in the series. This is Eli’s story and his HEA ends up being with Marlee one of his sister’s best friends. He is all about avoiding commitment and demands on him and she just got dumped 2 days before her wedding by the guy she has been with for 10 years. Marlee, her friends and Eli go to Vegas to help her get over her ex and a Liberace themed wedding ensued. Of course, they were denied their quickie annulment and had to go the slow route for a divorce. Marlee’s parents cut off her trust fund until the divorce is over to try and force her to get back with her Ex, Scott. She refuses and goes to live with Eli and gets a job.
Marlee’s ex was a jerk as were all of her friends in town (her 3 best friends all live out of town and were only in town for the wedding, so they weren’t around to help after the wedding debacle). I liked seeing Eli and Marlee’s relationship develop and seeing Marlee grow up and not just be the rich girl with no responsibilities. This was a funny and romantic read. It was great to see the familiar characters, especially Babushka.
Waited so long for this book.
