Take is the fifth book in the Deliver Series from Pam Godwin. If you have not started this series then you need to begin at the beginning and read Deliver, Vanquish, DIsclaim and Devastate. The books make more sense when read in order as some characters overlap into other books but none of them are cliffhangers. This too is my favorite dark series. I think it is about the first one I read that contained more than one book and I have been addicted every since. I could not wait to get my hands on this book and it did not disappoint. This book is everything you expect in this series and from Pam Godwin. You know your reading something amazing when a author can make you fall in love with the bad guy. The man hidden beneath the darkness. I bet he was a decent man before everything that happened to him. Tiago is the ultimate anti-hero. Kate is the woman that makes him feel something for the first time in many years. If you have read the other books then you know Kate’s backstory. Its not a pretty one. However she was doing alright in life until Tiago decided to take her and she finds herself kidnapped for the second time in her life. You just need to grab this book and read it. I would give it a million stars if I could. I hung on every world and loved each and every one of them. If you love dark romances then you do not want to miss this one or this entire series for that matter. I can not wait to get my hands on the next book. I would be a happy woman if this series went on forever and ever. I can never get enough of these characters or of Pam Godwin.
Yes! This is a fantastic addition to the world of Deliver. Fast paced, often vicious, hard hitting, with tough, hardened characters and Kate! Beautiful, brave, honest and strong willed captive! Her strength, even when so afraid, resonates throughout this incredible, well written book. It is thrilling, toe curling, terrifying, yet also a convincing, heart-hammering, love story.
Pam Godwin has the incredible knack of writing seemingly irredeemable characters, and drawing us in to root for them, willing them on to reveal those other sides to themselves. Tiago, alongside other people in this series, retains that inner core of forceful, even violent, inclinations, but with the reflectiveness that expands their attitudes and inclinations, becoming more human and humane.
With the addition of the long-suffering, loyal Boones, Take has succeeded in telling me a story which is richly described and totally engrossing.
“In a desperate last-ditch attempt, she let a whisper tumble out. ‘Please, don’t take this from me. It’s all I have left.'”
Taken.
Kate woke to an entirely different world than the one she fell asleep in…wearing nothing but a thin cloth for a dress and room barren of everything except a mattress on the floor.
For weeks upon weeks, her cries fell on deaf ears…or did they?
Until one day the door opened and her world completely flipped upside down. The man on the other side was not only alive, but aside from slouched posture and fresh scars, he was more dangerous than ever.
Twisted. Depraved. Evil.
Tiago Badell represented every dark and twisted thought Kate ever had…and he was hell-bent on making her pay for what was taken from him.
Let me just say…holy moly! This book is the fifth book in Godwin’s Deliver series, and honestly, it’s my favorite.
It’s raw, it’s dark, it’s completely twisted and filthy…it’s amazing, beautiful, and absolutely captivating. I couldn’t tear my eyes away and with every turn of the page, I both anticipated and dreaded the ending.
It was EVERYTHING.
Never one to disappoint, no matter the content, Godwin delivers a love story like no other. She’ll make you blush, she’ll make you cringe, and ultimately, fall for the bad guy.
I did. I do, every single time. And just like every story before, I am left speechless and sighing. The collaboration of characters, the crossover storylines…makes me love every story before this one even more.
I cannot wait for what Godwin has in store for us next. I can only imagine…actually, no I can’t, because there is no mind like Pam’s and honestly, it’s terrifying to think how dark she’ll get.
Her stories are my favorite (not so guilty) pleasure.
**5 Pay With Everything, Stars**
What to say about Tiago, after reading Devastate (Deliver #4) I hated him worse then Van. I didn’t think he could redeem himself. He was ruthless, sadistic, and a murderer up until he kidnapped Kate, his heart melted a little hearing Kate’s plea “Please, don’t take this from me. it’s all I have left”. Now knowing his back story on why he did what he did for 12 years I understand a little more. Absolutely love the HEA for Tiago and Kate.
Devastate is still my favorite in the series, but I can wait for the next book to be available. This is an amazing dark series that I couldn’t put down!
Warning: this book is NOT for the faint at heart. It is a dark romance and contains many triggers!
“She was a human being with an expiration date, just like everyone else.”
How far is too far? Pam Godwin continues to push the limits as the Deliver series continues with book #5, Take. Although it is recommended to read the series in order, Take could stand on its own. But then you will miss out on the brilliance that is Pam Godwin!
Devastate left us with a sense of looming because Kate had disappeared. Taken by the unredeemable Tiago Badel. Fierce, domineering, despised, powerful and possessive. Tiago is the ultimate alpha male, the ultimate anti-hero! He is complex and compelling.
“Destiny is a power far bigger than my mortal reach.”
Kate is fierce and strong willed! She is isolated, desperate and, at times, reckless. She sacrifices herself for her friends. Kate has experienced so much tragedy and devastation in her life. She never realized that she was just existing. But there is something about Tiago that calls to her, awakens her spirit.
“She needed to hate him, but she couldn’t.”
Once again Pam Godwin brings us an emotional, devastating, dark story. Filled with questions and more questions. Actions, reactions and lots of white knuckling! You can feel the chemistry between Tiago and Kate as it leaps off of the pages! There are many complications and twists throughout their story.
Pam creates beautiful, strong female characters. The men are naturally strong and dominant but there is always a twist! Fans of Pam Godwin will not be disappointed! Hold on tight because Martin and Ricky’s story is next as the Deliver series continues with Manipulate!
“Their relationship was unconventional, dark in nature, almost unworldly.”

DARK. INTENSE. CAPTIVATING. This book is simply fierce! Definitely NOT for the faint of heart or those that have trigger concerns. This is the fifth book in this series and they should be read in order. Kate and Tiago’s story left me stunned and breathless. These characters are complex and complicated to say the very least. Kate is so strong and has survived so much. Tiago is severe and very much an antihero, with his disturbing proclivities. They will take your emotions on such a wild ride that you will feel like you are on an out of control roller coaster at midnight in a blackout. Gripping, raw, disturbed, harsh and brutal, this is a book that will leave a long lasting mark on your mind. If you are a dark romance fan you do not want to miss this.
Going into this I wasnt sure how I was going to feel about Tiago but damn this man makes you want to nasty unthinkable things. His past but Boones I love that old man. So many twist and turns & secrets so pay attention for next book
Tiago his past made him turn into a monster. He loved sick things but NOT evil. Now what he took as his payment is also his torture. No way can a loud mouth little thing breaking the monster.
Kate She care more about everyone else than herself. You have to love this fighter she just dosen’t give up no matter how many times she been taken. She is a rebel.
“Feel that high sense of value and superiority? That’s pride, little girl. One of my fav. sins.”
“Your friends might be outraged by your death, but they don’t love you. Not the way a man loves his soulmate. You are no one’s other half. No one’s number one.”
“Destiny is a power far bigger than my mortal reach. I’m simply providing obstacle for them to overcome, to make them stronger.”
“Sometimes, I shave my Asshole. This isn’t any different”
“I’m going to hell and taking you with me.”
“You hate me for it now,but someday, if I earn your trust, that razored edge will set you free.”
“You’re wearing my spit, sweat ,come, and blood. Give me your definition for that. The first word that come to mind.”
“There’s nothing more vibrant, more beautiful,or more treasured than the flower that blooms in hell”
Let’s all hail the queen with her latest masterpiece, Pam this book really made me question my sanity and fall in love with your work all over again. Kate is a quick thinker and an all around survivor. Never in my life did I think you could make me like yet fall in love with a character who did so much wrong, Tiago was such a character. I loved everything about this book and I can’t waitto read the rest of this series.
I told Pam that I absolutely refused to accept this…this!….this horrible wretched character as a romantic lead. I mean…I laid down the law!!! I wasn’t crossing that line. I would not read THIS book if HE was the romantic lead.
But I love Pam and I read TAKE. I read it because I’ve read every word this woman has written…and what happened at the end of TAKE???
Good question…
This was NOT a redeemable character, or so I thought. I hated this man. I mean, loathed in my core, hated him…and yet….and yet…there was something which stirred within me. Redemption of the most brutal kind.
I’m not giving you spoilers. You deserve better.
This series will rip out your heart. Hand it to you on a bloody platter. And it will ask you to imbibe on the sweetest agony…Yes! This is something you must ingest, experience, and feel in the depths of your soul…you will understand once you come out of the cleansing fires.
And you will. You will because Pam’s words are addictive, erotic, sensual, and undeniable. You will gasp and clutch at your belly as the most horrific villain bears his heart and his soul.
You will understand redemption and the power of love.
If that doesn’t’ convince you, then I don’t know what will.
Take is the next installment of Pam Godwin’s DELIVER SERIES and you have no idea what kind of a ride you’re in for.
Trust in me. You will suffer. You will bleed. You will scream. But you will also rejoice in the power of love, redemption, and true love.
Ellie Masters….writer of romance.
I love the book Take. I waited so long for Kate and Tiago story and it didn’t let me down. Pam is such a good author because when you read her books you have the imagines in your head. She has so much detail about things and her characters come to life.
Kate is a strong woman. I mean OMG to thru what she has went thru and then to get kidnapped again by Tiago. He is such a worth human being in the beginning. I don’t want to spoil the book. Kate just makes you think you can survive anything. You feel everything she goes for and you want to be there to help her. I know I was waiting to go there and rescue her for him and yelling no to the book. My family was looking at me like a crazy person screaming at the book.
Tiago is a monster there is no strange way of thinking he is not. There is a softer side of him and Kate found it. He just wants someone to love him and he has been thru so much. Plus I think Boone help me like him more. I really liked how Pam put him in the story to kind help people see that Tiago wasn’t that bad. I think I hated him at the beginning for what he did to Tate and Lucia oh and Van but he will grow on you in this book. Again I don’t want to give anything away but you must read book #5 Take Kate story. I received this book free for my honest review. Read the book you won’t regret it.
After reading Devastate, I didn’t think Tiago Badell had any chance at redemption. Pam Godwin, once again, demonstrates why she is so good at what she does. She took a character, Tiago, and made you root for him. Even in the beginning of Take, when he is so awful to Kate, Ms. Godwin makes you rethink how you feel about him. She writes a powerful story with characters that are believable. Kate is a great match for Tiago. She gives as good as she gets and never surrenders to the pain he loves to inflict. She fights him all the way and he respects her all the more for it. I loved the back story with Cole from the Tangled Lies series, and can’t wait to read more about him in the upcoming books. This book has jump to the top for me in this series. Definitely my favorite, although I anxiously await the rest of the series.
Tiago and Kate were tragic, haunting, pained, and complacent. But they were also honest, determined, persistent, and well matched. There story had me going ahh, and ohh, and uh-oh, and uh-huh, and a whole bunch of ick, but in a good way. And just when I thought I had it all figured out, another shocking fact is thrown my way, and another, and I realized I had no idea what was going on, but I sure was enjoying the ride!
Tiago is the best anti-hero I’ve read in a long time, a close second to Van, who is also in this series. As the story unfolds, you get to know him, his reasons, his motives, and they are all as dark and twisted as you could imagine. He doesn’t apologize for it, or who he is. What he does is uncover a new him, a different him, when he is around Kate. For her, and unbeknownst to her, he stays the same man, but with different motivations
Kate has been a victim her whole life, and that was only solidified when Van took her captive. But she is done cowering, but with Tiago, she finds her backbone, only to wither at times. She doesn’t give up though, she continues to find and hold onto her inner strength. But then she sees, that being strong, doesn’t mean being oblivious. Giving in, doesn’t mean giving up, and being happy doesn’t mean there isn’t pain. She is determined to live on her terms, and stops at nothing to do so
This was a dark, forbidden, and twisted journey, with Tiago and Kate as the sole source of light, for each other. It took my breath away in so many ways, and I was right there with our characters in the story
OMG. I am officially obsessed with Pam Godwin’s Deliver series and am willing to hang from every rafter to scream my adoration of it. This story was phenomenal!! Good Lord, Godwin did the damn thing and then some. I didn’t think she could outdo Devastate but she did. Take is seriously the best book she has written. Hands down. It was pure dark romance #goals. I am obsessed with Tiago Badell and love him more than any of her heroes (sorry Van!). But Tiago and Kate together? A brutal and painful masterpiece. The connection between these two created an emotional love story and a palpable heat that could be felt right off the pages. I never wanted this story to end!
Without giving away any spoilers, just know that Take is NOT a standalone. It follows the storyline of the other 4 books and runs parallel to Devastate (Deliver # 4) at times. This book provides SO MANY much-needed answers about Tiago and who he is and what shaped him to be the person that he was. What I loved more than anything was how we got to know Kate more in this book and saw her strength, inner fire and how she stood up to the Monster and ultimately met her match in his beast. Their chemistry, passion, banter and connection gave me LIFE!! Bravo!!! 5 stars! ~Ratula
After reading about him in DEVASTATE, I loathed the evil, sadistic, cruel Tiago. He was the last character I‘d ever imagine having any compassion for. However, because Pam Godwin is so incredibly talented, I not only felt compassion for him, but I ended up falling in love with him in TAKE!!! I don’t know how Godwin comes up with these incredibly innovative yet believable storylines, but I’m so glad she does (even if it does result in my only having 3 hours of sleep because I couldn’t put the book down)!!! Addicting, sexy, captivating, awe-inspiring and literally keeping me on the edge of my seat, TAKE is an absolutely incredible book!!!!
ARC received from author in exchange for my honest review.
No one does dark romance like Pam Godwin does.
Dark Feels.
I’m bursting at the seams. Ahhhhhh! I love my anti-heroes, Pam Godwin is insanely talented in redeeming even the most ruthless, brutal, sadistic characters. Tiago. I’m so in love, er Stockholm Syndrome. I don’t even care. With so many captor romances out lately, Godwin really sets the bar, and just when I think I can’t possibly read another story about kidnapping, she grabs a hold of my throat and chokes me into submission, leaving me boneless. You do not want to miss this one. Edgy and sexy! Raw Ruthlessness seeps from the pages.
“When he wasn’t scaring the piss out of her, he was sucking her in with his glowing charisma. Lucifer had charisma. It was easy to be both repulsed by evil and drawn to its power. She would do well to remember that.”
I’m going to TRY to keep this review rather short, but with my twenty five highlights, I keep reliving this book over and over and over. I’m on level too high to not babble about how absolutely amazing this story was. We met the devil aka Tiago in Devastate, the last book released in The Deliver Series, you must read all these books, dark talent exudes from each book, page, word. I wanted Tiago’s book, he was captivating, mysterious, a luscious lunatic. I’m sick in the head, we’ve already established that. And Kate was another victim waiting to shine with a fierceness that can get the darkest heart pumping. I absolutely loved the push and pull, the character growth, the fine line, the tight rope between the two. The start was like a slap to the face with Tiago, you really have to love dark romance to get excited like I was. Disturbing and delicious.
“You’re a heartless kidnapper,” she spat.
“Can’t argue with the evidence.”
“You’re a murderer.”
“Yes.” He put his face in hers and smiled a humorless smile.
“I’m the reason people lock their doors at night.”
Sadistically sweet, that Tiago. Sigh. Even the darkest hearts need love. Kate fell down the rabbit hole screaming and fighting, and ultimately caging her captor. This story is going to push your boundaries. This story is going make you question your morals. This story will make you love the villain. It’s dark, deep, and unrelenting. The writing drills a hole in your heart and forever changes your perspective. I can’t possibly praise this enough. 10 Stars isn’t enough.
His eyes snapped open, sharpened, drilling into hers. “Need to tell you something.”
“What?”
“I love you.” Her heart skipped. “You’re insane.”
“Love is insanity.”
Desperate to keep him alert and talking, she leaned in and asked, “What do you love about me?”
“First off…” He lifted his unshackled hand to her face.
“Everything.”
5 Take(me) Stars
One of the menacing characters I met in Deliver Series — Tiago Bedell. The character I love to hate last year in Devastate is back. He’s still dark, raw, intense and apparently likes bloodplay.
Kate lost her freedom once again in the hands of Tiago. But she’s not just about to accept her captivity without a fight. She’s feisty and speaks her mind. Learning what happened in Tiago’s past gave her a glimpse of why he became the person he is today. Is it possible to fall for someone like Tiago?
Never underestimate the power of a good author that knows how to make you fall for her (anti) hero. Pam Godwin did an amazing job of writing this story.
I dare you to read this series for it’s getting better and better as each Freedom Fighters gets their own story. I’m looking forward to the next one. Highly recommendable series.
A bad guy can turn good.
Wow this author is just amazing every book she writes I luv. This series is dark, screwed up, twisted and totally crazy. This book is all that plus more. So much has happened throughout this series that I didn’t think I could be shocked any more. But he I was Tiago Befell is a crazy evil man. The things he has done aren’t good and he knows it he doesn’t hide it he actually wears it with pride. He’s killed and hurt people it’s his job to make sure people fear him and they do. He is one of the best cartels there is and none well ever take him down. That’s until Kate a girl he has kidnapped gets under his skin. It wasn’t meant to be that way she was payment. He didn’t do woman well not in a long time he was focus on what was meant to be done. But Kate was different she made him want to be the man he once was. But that guy didn’t exist anymore well he didn’t think he did.
Kate God where do I start with this girl. She has been through a lot and I mean a lot. If she wasn’t taken and locked up by Van’s she had now been taken by Tiago. Life just sucked big time. Her life has never been easy but she alway dug deep and found a way to deal with each situation. Being taken by Tiago wasn’t goin to be any different. Yes she feared him he was crazy she knew what he has done to a few of her friends so she knew how evil he was. By looking at him you wouldn’t think it. He’s gorgeous looking strong sexy but in his eyes you could see the darkness. Even when he was injured he still had the upper hand. Things weren’t goin to be easy for her with him she just didn’t expect to see softer side it wasn’t soft and cuddly he would alway have that hard evil side. She hated it and it killed her to even let her guard down but there was something that she couldn’t get enough of even.
This book is crazy and just brilliant. I never thought I could ever like That I and I mean ever. The things he has done kills me. But finding out his story and knowing why he is the men he is is sad. They have both been through a lot they were never going to be the perfect couple. To much has happened and they both know that. But seeing them together you could see both of them getting closer and slowly letting there guard. It was hard for Kate and my heart went out to her and it did for Tiago as well which still shocks me now. She just had so much bad luck it has to end eventually she couldn’t carry on like she was she was to young she needed to experience what her friends had found she just didn’t think she would find it with her captor.
I would highly recommend this book. The books are standalone but I would definitely read them in order. You would get to know the story and characters better. You won’t be disappointed either this series is amazing it is dark and it may have a few triggers. But if your into the dark romance check this out. Ive alway be a lil scared of dark romance but I have to say this series has made me luv it and I read so many more after it. I really can’t recommend it enough.
After meeting Tiago Badell in Devastate he was like a shadowy figure in the fog.
In Take slowly Ms. Godwin starts lifting that fog and the vision of him becomes more clearer and more defined.
Tiago is a man that absolutely deserves to be hated.
But as his layers are peeled back that hate slowly turns to more of a lighter shade of hate and disgust.
He’s complicated. His life is complicated. His journey is complicated.
His story is neither black nor white. The lines are blurred.
I loved how Ms. Godwin wrote his character.
She didn’t hold back.
She didn’t sugarcoat his wants and needs.
She brought out and showcased a man who’s desires match his complex personality.
I would never have imagined how strong Kate really is.
Yes she endured a lot.
But her friends shielded and protected her to the point of hovering.
So I was bowled over by her inner strength.
That girl is amazing!
Together her and Tiago make for one of the most explosive, dynamic couples I’ve ever come across.
They are a live wire of electricity together.
The writing, the actions, the deeds fit the characters to perfection.
Anything less or watered down just wouldn’t have worked for these two.
I love that this author isn’t afraid to deliver a story and plot and details that are outside the box and outside my comfort zone.
Ms. Godwin’s writing and style not only makes her characters come to life and makes them more believable. But she also gives the reader a thrilling intense story to devour.
For me Take was spectacular!
More than I could have hoped for or anticipated.
Omg, I think this one is my favorite so far in this series! I also think Tiago is my favorite anti-hero in this series as well! Pam Godwin sure knows how to write them. I can’t believe the stuff he did to Kate and man was it a scorcher. Kate turned out to be perfect for him. Ohhhh I can’t wait for the next one.
Rated 4.5 Stars
Pam Godwin has done it again, made me fall for a despicable and much hated character. I didn’t like Tiago when he first stepped onto the page in Devastate and I didn’t like him for quite a bit of Take either but then his layers were peeled off and I saw the human underneath and the way he was with the heroine, Kate and couldn’t help but change my mind about him. I loved their story even as messed up as it was I still loved it and highly recommend it to dark romance lovers. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
