“Dark Feels. I’m bursting at the seams. Ahhhhhh! I love my anti-heroes, and Pam Godwin is insanely talented in redeeming even the most ruthless, brutal, sadistic characters. Tiago. I’m so in love.” ~ Di Covey, Goodreads ReviewerHe’s a notorious crime lord, a kidnapper, and an artist. Scarification is his outlet, and he just captured a new canvas. Kate refuses to surrender beneath his blade or the … to surrender beneath his blade or the cruelty in his beautiful eyes.
But she’s drawn to the man inside the monster. A man who makes her ache with his touch. Who owns her with his kiss.
A man who worships her as deeply as he hurts her.
She can run, but there’s no escape from a bond carved in scars.

This series has quickly become my number one most anticipated series out right now. And Kate and Tiago’s story didn’t let me down. I think as readers we build these characters up before we even get to their story and then we finally get to hear what the author has to say. Tiago is not really anything like I thought he was going to be. But yet he was so much more, in different ways. This book brings to light, for me, the extent people go to to protect themselves and to protect those they love. Two people with two completely different mind frames. One out for himself and one protective of everyone she holds dear. Together these two make a pretty amazing couple. Sometimes we need that other side to help make us a better person. Have someone on the outside show us what they see, how they think and what they feel. These characters have become so much more than I thought they would and I can not wait to continue this series!!
Wow! i finished reading Take a couple of days ago and I had to get my thoughts together before attempting to write a review. First, this is the 5th book in the Deliver series. You need to start at the beginning of this twisted tale. Second, this is a very dark series. If you are the type of reader that needs trigger warnings then this is not the book for you. Everything is triggered throughout this series. Lastly, Pam Godwin is an amazing writer. She gives the reader the story of Kate, a girl that was kidnapped by sex trafficers and was held captive for 4 years. She’s finally free and wants that freedom even though she knows it’s not wise. She is now taken captive of one of their known enemies, Tiago Badell. This is their story. The story of a dark and damaged man and a young woman that will never stop fighting for her freedom. I cannot tell you any more without destroying the story. It’s more than you can imagine and everything that you hope for. It’s told from dual POV and I say to read it at your own risk but you’ll be glad that you did!
Pam Godwin don’t you dare make me fall in love with a “possessive, duplicitous, unreasonable nutjob”……ooops too late! Tiago Badell you swoon worthy, sexy as hell complicated man. Kate you are the absolute perfect heroine and match for Tiago.
Pam Godwin is again showcasing her dark, sexy, brilliant writing talent with Take, book 5 in her Deliver series. She had me enthralled in this book from page one to the very last word. Some scenes were so explosive that I was practically drooling with anticipation as to what would happen next. The chemistry between Tiago and Kate is off the charts and Deliver is off the charts in terms of a star rating.
I can’t wait to see where Pam Godwin takes me next with Manipulate, book 6.
Wow. This book is so dark and disturbing and also so damn good.
Kate and Tiago’s story is crazy in the best possible way. Definitely not your usual kidnapper and victim Stockholm syndrome story.
When I finished reading Devastate, I had a couple of thoughts.
1. WHY didn’t Lucia finish Tiago off!?!?
2. HOW is Pam going to redeem this seemingly irredeemable guy?!
When I started Take, it had been quite a few months since Devastate, so I kind of thought, you know… maybe having forgotten a lot of Tiago’s crimes will make it easier to like him, right?
Wrong.
Because here’s the thing about this series – it goes to those dark, twisted places. And what’s more, if there’s a chance the horrors might have been forgotten in the intervening time between books? Here’s a quick recap!! There’s NO WAY to go into this book unaware of the kind of man Tiago is.
Okay, so that was a long intro that I felt necessary, because…. I loved him.
Behind this cruel, dark, effed up psychopath is a vulnerable, damaged man who ultimately just needs love. We get to go way below the surface – I mean, I thought Van was bad enough. Even Matias had his questionable traits. But Tiago really took the cake as ultimate villain. While I read Devastate, I couldn’t imagine a world where he got a HEA, and now that I’ve read Take, I can’t imagine a world where he doesn’t.
Here you have two extremely large, imposing characters – Tiago being the ruthless gang leader, and Kate as the woman whose strength comes from all that she’s endured. Together, they make each other better.
Sure, it’s dark. Bits of it are icky. But it’s so raw and real. This is a man who could never give hearts and flowers. He only knows how to deal in pain. And Kate is the woman who accepts him in all of his twisted desires, even while she fights him tooth and nail. None of these books are for the faint of heart, but if you can suspend your own judgement and look past ‘normal’, there’s a special kind of love to be found here. It’s unconventional, yes. But it’s no less real.
4.5 stars
It’s been four years since Kate’s life changed drastically. But moving on proved harder than she thought when choices were taken away from her for the second time.
Tiago Badell built his empire as large as the wall around his heart. As leader of a criminal organization, he took what he wanted but he never anticipated his latest acquisition would be a challenge he was not ready to face.
Tiago was one irresistible anti-hero dripping with potent sexuality. I loved how he didn’t hold back in getting what he wanted. Also, his certain proclivity was a major extra point for me.
Kate was actually my least favorite member of Freedom Fighter because she seemed weak in past books. Thankfully, she proved her worth in this one while still retaining her vulnerabilities.
I really enjoyed the overall story of this one. I loved learning about Tiago’s past and his path of destruction and how it connected with a present character. The explosive sexual chemistry made the sex scenes scorchingly intense.
Take is a story of taking control and moving on. It would appeal to readers who enjoy sexy dark romance.
This was an amazing book. I love this series and characters.
Okay, this book was purely decadent. Kate and Tiago are my new favorite book couple. Continuing in the deliver series of dark criminals, sex traffickers, etc. Kate is kidnapped and kept in isolation by the notorious and terrifying drug lord Tiago Badell. This man is pure sin and psycho; I love him. Kate fights to escape the horrific man but learns about the horrors of him and his past. As she accepts him slowly and falls for cruel ruthless Tiago, I melted. I always favored the anti-heros and Tiago is in my top ten. I floved their story so much even as it is very disturbing and completes another one of Pam’s best work so far! I know I’ll read this book over and over again, sigh. I’m so ready for the next book, Manipulate!
I love the Deliver series so much I can’t even describe my joy when I read this one which is my favourite so far. Like the previous books it’s dark and twisted but I devoured every word of Kate and Tiago’s story. Kate has been taken this time by the very sadistic and brutal Tiago. There is nothing soft and fluffy about him, let’s be honest he scares the bejeezus out of me. We’ve met Kate before but her strength of character jumps out from every page. It’s a twisted love story just don’t expect redemption from Tiago, he may worship her but don’t mistake devotion for weakness. Another addictive read in my favourite dark series.
reviewed by Sweet Spot Sisterhood
As the series has progressed, Josh and Liv from the series starter have remained my favorites—and the still are! However, Tiago and Kate may have just tied them for that top spot. Yes, Tiago is a bad man and he makes no apologies for who he is. However, the more the person behind the reputation came to the forefront, the more you see past the man we only got glimpses of in the earlier books. And Kate? She was such a revelation here—a young woman whose experiences have made her stronger but still empathetic. Yet again, Pam Godwin has written an extraordinary story, an antihero worth loving, and a worthy heroine with such daring. I’m giving Take five-plus stars.
Take is a deliciously dark, gripping, and sexy addition to Pam Godwin’s Deliver series, and it left me reeling in the best possible way.
If you haven’t read any of the previous books in this series, you must read them before picking up Take. The story follows Kate and Tiago, two previously introduced characters, and the chemistry between these two is explosive. Kate has the unfortunate luck of being abducted again, but this time she’s held captive by Tiago, a villain who is the ultimate anti-hero. I don’t want to give the plot away, so I’m going to focus on what I loved.
Pam Godwin has an exceptional talent for redeeming characters you would otherwise find irredeemable, and she did that and then some with Tiago’s character. He’s all sorts of scarred, and the story unfolds in such a way that I connected with him and really fell for him as a character. Also, I found myself being okay with things within the context of the story that I normally wouldn’t be on board with—that’s how much I ended up loving him.
I also really enjoyed Kate as a female lead because she’s a survivor. She’s strong, strategic, vulnerable, and was the perfect match for Tiago. The passion and fire between them was INTENSE, and it really showed how much beauty could come from pain.
If you love your romance dark, dirty, and insanely addictive, PLEASE read this series. It’s one of my favorites, and Take is another strong, well-written addition to an already fantastic series. I cannot wait for the rest of the books.
The thing about this series is that you don’t really know who is good and who is bad. The good guys could turn into bad guys and guess what the baddest baddies sometimes turn out to be teddy bears.
Tiago Badell can never ever be described as a teddy bear. He is bad to the bone. Van Quiso did win my affection but Tiago did not. I didn’t like him when I met him and I still don’t like him but if I was in a gun fight I would like him to be by my side. Just don’t let him near me with his razor finger, I like my skin the way it is.
Kate is a beauty but she didn’t make me love her in the way that Liv or Lucia did. I did fall for the good doctor Boones. Loved him to pieces.
The series does continue to astound me, thrill me and make me feel scared in equal measures. I’m so eager to get in on the Martin and Ricky love.
Take is book 5 in the Deliver series by Pam Godwin.
If you thought Van was disturbed yet captivating then you haven’t met Tiago in book 5 yet. He’s this leader of a criminal enterprise who is your classic anti-hero. He is raw, dark, disturbing, potent. He’s the classic psychopath– He did whatever he wanted and woe be if you tried to stop him. He kidnapped a woman named Kate and is deciding what to do with her. Kate refuses to be a victim and uses her strengths to fight back against Tiago. Its electrifying to read the struggles that take place. The pain and grief, the rawness and sadness, the grit and grind; true rollercoaster ride of emotions that take place. I don’t want to give any spoilers away. Just read!!! You won’t regret!
My Rating: 4.5 stars ******
Kate is still trying to recover from her past but when she finds herself taken once again and her nightmares are about to begin again. If she has any chance of surviving this experience she knows that she will have to remain strong both mentally and physically as showing any weakness will be her downfall.
Tiago is not a good man. He is a wealthy crime lord who rules with force, power and no conscience and altering from this course could have deadly consequences. He recently abducted Kate and is enthralled by her. No matter what he does she manages to surprise him and that is not only keeping her alive but making him consider keeping her as well.
Their relationship is not conventional. Kate should hate him for what he has done and continues to do to her but there is something about him that she can’t stay away from and she believes there is a lot more to this complicated man than she ever imagined. There is no denying the chemistry between them, but things become complicated when she touches a part of him, he long thought was dead. Will they be able to heal each other or will they destroy each other in the process?
Wow what a dark and twisty journey this story takes you on. Kate is so much stronger than even she realizes while Tiago has so many layers that you wonder who the real man is. This was a great addition to the series that leaves us wanting the next installment.
Pam Godwin has done it again! Everything she writes is enthralling. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Take is a story that grabs you from the beginning and holds you fast until the end. I highly recommend everything this author writes.
This book continues to throw us into the crazy story Author Pam Godwin has created. So dark and intense. This is the fifth book in the series and should be read in order. Tiago and Kate took my emotions on a crazy wild journey that I don’t know if I will ever recover from. Kate is fierce and has endured so much. Her relationship with Tiago is so complicated. This book was brutally disturbing and such an AMAZING read!!!! Don’t wait. Read this series now.
Tiago is a notorious crime mob who does some unthinkable things to his captives. Kate is just one of his captives so they keeping telling themselves. Kate just wants to leave but Tiago has other plans for her. As time goes on Kate sees a different side to Tiago that he lets no one see. Is this a relationship in the making or is it something else?
I was drawn to this book from the very beginning. Tiago is definitely a different kind of man that is known to get what he wants. Kate isn’t your normal heroine either. I love that she fights him at every turn in the road. This book had a lot of different triggers and I think that is what made this book so compelling.
I did not think Tiago and Kate’s story was going to be “doable” after the previous books in the series!! Tiago is horrible!! Pam Godwin totally did it though! Wow, this might be my favorite of the series. Totally awesome and what I needed!! You definitely find yourself wanting more in this series after each book. 5 STARS!!
Wow is all I can say about the fifth installment of the deliver series. It definitely needs to be read in order and is absolutely amazing (like the rest of the Deliver series). This is definitely and unexpected pairing but my oh my how in love with these two I am. Godwin definitely had me from the first page, I could not put it down. I absolutely loved Kate and her interactions with Tiago. This dark series is definitely a must-read!
It has been a year since I read the prior books in the series. For me this book was quite a bit different than the prior books in the series. Not in a bad way but just that it could really standalone from the other ones as we jump right into Kate’s story. That is not to say that you can start here….don’t do that as you need to meet the characters as the series unfolds, just that we start in the isolated world of Kate and Tiago in this book. Again, the story is a bit hard to read as there are very difficult situations, but trust me that there are some very good characters in these dark tales.
I really don’t want to spoil anything but the way Ms. Godwin is able to create these dark characters that you are able to love is amazing. In the prior books Tiago was a brutal man who you hated, but once we learn his secrets from Kate’s time with him we begin to root for him. I am again amazed that I can go into a book knowing he is a monster and by the end he becomes a hero.
