I really adore Sadie and Tanner. He is her knight in shinning Armor. I must that in life when you’ve been beaten down by their is no way to go but up. I love how Tanner is able to see the true Sadie and not what he was told. Truly love how he always thought about Rylan and what she needs above his own. I just how Sadie also thinks about Rylan needs above her own. I also love the heal process that Sadie goes through. Above all I love the twists of this story it brings a sense of reality to they storyline.

Give me a chance to show you how things can be different…
Sadie, an attorney and part-time dance teacher, is busy trying to dig out of a financial hole and take care of her alcoholic mother. Tanner is a cop and single dad to Rylan, an adorable student in one of Sadie’s dance classes. They’re on a slow burn. But Sadie knows that there will never be a relationship with Tanner because of her past. This book is one hot number. Sure, it’s steamy. But there’s a deep friendship that develops along the way. And some heavy issues that are dealt with in a caring and compassionate manner. Sadie and Tanner both attend Al-Anon meetings to help deal with the people in their lives who have alcohol issues. Sadie is in so much pain because of the incident in her past, unable to let go of the guilt. I love that Tanner doesn’t take the local gossip as gospel, accepting her admission of mistakes in the past, and then moving on. Kristen (dance studio owner) is the first person from the local group to give her a chance, and offer to be her friend. The secret revealed by Sadie’s grandparents was heartbreaking, but they are wonderful and welcoming people. Grandpa gives Sadie some terrific advice. Tanner’s parents are so nice and normal, something missing in her life. This is my second read from this author, but the first in the series – this book makes me want to go back and read the other stories.

First book I’ve read by Lea Coll. This was well written with well developed characters. This emotional storyline deals with addiction and the people around them. I was entertained from the first page to the very last. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I am in love with this book.
Sadie Cole has a reputation of being a liar and manipulator. People in town blame her for what happened in high school. Right after high school, she left the small town to get away from the negative comments and nasty looks. She returns to town when her mother needs her. Small time hasn’t changed since she left. It seems that everyone hates her, except her boss and Tanner Green.
Tanner Green is new in town. As a single father, his only focus should be his daughter. However, he can’t get his daughter’s dance teacher out of his mind. However, it seems everyone hates her but he doesn’t understand why. She is smart, fun and sweet, not the manipulator and liar that everyone thinks she is.
The books is so sweet. It made me cry when Sadie told us the reason for her living town. It is definitely work every minute
Take a Chance on Me is the sixth book in the All I want series by Lea Coll. As this was my first book in the series, it can be read without reading the others.
Tanner is a new cop in town and doesn’t know the stories of Sadie’s past, so he’s taking a chance with his daughter’s dance teacher and going with his cop’s instinct. Sadie is used to the whispers around town but she has never had someone to have her back when people talk. Until Tanner, she not sure if she’s ready to take a chance on this man.
Tanner and Sadie’s story will take you on a roller-coaster of emotions. I loved how their story started slowly as a get to know you let’s be friends then turned into I want to be your knight and shining amour. The only down part that I had was the last quarter of the book drug a little too much. Overall I loved this story and I want to read more from this series and author.
The emotional undertow in this book is deep and it is strong. You may find that you want to keep the tissues handy – just in case. This book takes on some really big subjects. Some criminal, some in the court of public opinion, and some that are just plain personal. For the most part, I didn’t realize just how deep the subject matter had gotten until I had waded in way over my head. As the child of an alcoholic, there are parts of this book that hit really close to home, and I found this story to be both inspiring and heartbreaking at the same time. Through the whole book I just wanted to hug Sadie tight and fight all the demons for her. So, yeah, it was very easy for me to understand what drew Tanner in. I am in awe at the noble character of this man. No matter what was happening around him, he held true to his personal belief in what was right. This isn’t a light or a quick read but it’s worth every second of the time invested in it.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
This is only my second read from this author, but I am already in the #oneclicknomatterwhat zone with her. If you like your stories real, this is an author you want on your list. This small town romance story is filled with swoon-worthy, emotional #feels that will have you reading till all hours without stopping!
Sadie grabbed a hold of my heart and just never let go. She is vulnerable but strong. She has had a few bad hands dealt to her by life’s circumstances. She has grown and persevered but when life knocks you down, no matter how tough you *are*, it always leaves a mark. Tanner swooped right in with the help of his adorable daughter and helped heal those marks. Together they navigated a journey of hope, trust, forgiveness, and love that captivated me from page one until the end! Lea Coll is something special. Her storytelling gift is addictive and I just cannot get enough of her words!
Sadie -dance teacher, lawyer, the center of a decade old scandal she can’t out run.
Tanner – New to town, Single father, Sheriff Deputy.
Raylan-daughter to Tanner, Dance student of Sadie, sweet funny six year old.
I previously had not read anything by Lea Coll. I am really glad I read Take a Chance on Me. The characters are rich in personality and multifaceted. Overall I really felt a complete world with the story. Sadie’s struggle is so real for many. Her struggle of having no one that sticks in her life and learning to depend solely on herself is what so many experience when they have someone the love with an addition. The trauma of an alcoholic mother and her own assault along with that of her friends profoundly affected her. But even in her lonely existence she was able to finish college and law school. While her life choices haven’t always been the best; she has learned from her mistakes and is trying to keep her head above water.
The personal journey of Sadie through her Al-anon group is deeply emotional. It was very difficult to read but no less emotionally compelling. While the Romance between Sadie and Tanner is a slow burn moving through both their doubts, I think the more emotional journey is Sadie discovering she has value and people do stick and love her. I was worried their relation would come off as co-dependent as they both have people in their lives fighting an addition. But it doesn’t come off that way at all. It starts as a person recognizing a similar soul and showing them acceptance and support.
This was such a profound read for me. It was a very emotional story. This was a 4.5/5 star read for me. My issues were with some of the outlying relationships, but I am really being kind of not picky. I would highly recommend this book. It is a slow burn romance with a pretty rocky path to the HEA.
Book six in the All I Want series a well written story with a very good storyline. Dance Teacher Sadie Cole, single dad Tanner Green and his daughter Rylan’s story Bree his ex was something else. I want to read more in this series. I received a copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I didn’t read all of the author’s books, but of the ones I read, this is my favorite. It’s was full of romance, some funny situations, quite informative, angst and the slow burn between Sadie and Tanner was killing me.
The story between them was very organic and I could feel how they were building their relationship, from attraction, to friendship and then to love. Tanner was a cop who had a sweet and lovable 6 year old daughter Rylan, with Bree, an alcoholic. He does everything he can to protect Rylan, at the same time trying to give her everything she deserves at life, including a caring mother.
Sadie is an attorney at the public’s defender’s office and at night a kid’s dancer teacher. She doesn’t have an easy life, since she was a teenager, she had to deal with her alcoholic and manipulative mother and her boyfriends, dealt with a case of assault, then she got fired from a previous job out an action of desperation. She also think that the whole city judge and hate her.
What I liked the most about Tanner was how from the beginning he didn’t judge Sadie, and give a chance to her explain her things at her time, he was slowly cracking her armor, protecting and caring for her. Also loved how he included her in his family activities, giving her a family she never had.
I was so in awe with Sadie, and I felt so connected to her. She was so strong and it must had be difficult to never have someone on her side. She had a heart of gold, she didn’t trust her decisions and at some point was afraid for Tanner and Rylan security and protection, even if she was broken by the end. I also enjoyed how she reconnect with her grandparents, it was so sweet.
The book also gave some important lessons on how to deal with an alcoholic relative. At the end, both Sadie and Tanner had their happy ending. It was sweet and loving, and so deserving! I love how at some point Sadie found out that she had more people at her side then she thought.
I’ve read a lot of books where my heart has ached for characters before, but none have ever made my heart ache quite way it did for Sadie. I hurt for her from practically the moment I met her and continued to feel every bit of pain she endured as I became more and more attached to this incredibly strong and kind hearted woman. It seems like the entire world is blind to just how good of a person she really is until Tanner walks into her life and sees what everyone else is oblivious to.
Tanner’s ability to see Sadie beyond what everyone else thinks is what made me start to fall for him, but ultimately what really made me fall head over heels was his unconditional love. No flaw, no rumor, no bit of her past was every held over her head by him. He accepted her with no judgement through every hurdle life threw at them. I could not get enough of how devoted he was.
If you’re looking for a read that’s going to hit your right in the feels and leave you with your heart overflowing with love then grab this one!
This was another solid offering from this author! Sadie has a reputation around town that she can’t escape. Tanner is a single father and a sheriff deputy. They meet when Tanner’s daughter takes dance lessons from Sadie. He is instantly smitten with her but she is extremely closed off and worried about him finding out her secrets. Anyone who knows about small town life knows that nothing is a secret and no one forgets the past. It was painful to read about her life and how she has suffered. Tanner’s patience and kindness was the best. I really enjoyed reading their story!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
I received an ARC of this on behalf of the author and I volunteered to leave an unbiased review.
I enjoyed this small town romance. This was my first Lea Coll book and I want to read more from her.
You should consider this if you like;
Small Town romances
Swoony single dads
Heavy tough topics
A woman with a troubled past and a backbone.
I’m glad I took a chance not only on this book, but this author.
This is part of a series, but can be read a standalone which is what I did.
Awesome alpha hero in Tanner
Take A Chance On Me (All I Want Book 6) by Lea Coll is a well written romance, I absolutely enjoyed reading. Sadie and Tanner’s love story, although a somewhat heavy subject matter, is lighthearted, fun and progresses smoothly and positively for the most part. Sadie and Tanner both have baggage and so their self-talk can be a little negative as they continually question themselves. Despite their tentativeness and wariness, Tanner and Sadie find solace, support and safety with each other. Truly a super sweet and steamy love story.
The plot of this book is straightforward and loving, positive and supportive. The angst is prevalent through other characters, which Tanner and Sadie work through together.
Overall, a wonderfully well writing romance with fantastic characters who deserve the HEA they find with each other with an overall positive affect that ripples through their community, family and friends.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
Take a Chance On Me is yet another book to add to a long list of ones that I LOVE by the amazing Lea Coll. Tanner and Sadie story was incredibly sweet, entertaining, with sexy and sweet moments and I absolutely loved how these two fell head over heels in love with each other and Tanners little girl and did not put the book down until I finished it. TBR this book straight away and fall in love with this fantastic couple and little girl. Plus this series too. Totally recommend for all fans of contemporary romance, Take a Chance On Me is a 5 star + read for me. I can’t get enough of this series and neither will you. Happy reading everyone!!
Oh my heart! I felt so much for Sadie. This week seems to be the week for emotional stories as I don’t think I’ve cried more before from reading. She has had a hard road and the people she knows don’t make it any easier. But comes in Tanner and his love and devotion for his daughter sucked me in. I am a sucker for a single dad. He’s conflicted but their chemistry is amazing. I couldn’t put this down and I might have stayed up just to finish it.
Sadie Cole has been around. She’s a character from earlier in the series who did some things she’s of which she’s not proud. I’ve not read the earlier books in this series, but one of the BIG plusses for this book is its ability to stand alone. I really appreciated that not everyone from the previous books was super willing to all be Team Sadie. There was a reveal of the true nature of Sadie’s life and the motives for her actions. When you ask why a lawyer is working two jobs, we discover this as we come to know and like Sadie.
Tanner is new to town, and he’s a single dad. He doesn’t know of Sadie’s past, and he’s doing what I think a lot of us wish would happen. He sees Sadie with a clear vision of no preconceived notions. Everyone in town has their opinion of Sadie, and those opinions are based not on facts but speculation. Tanner decides to form his own opinion, and it is a life-changer for Sadie.
The book deals with being the family member or significant other of an addict, including a couple of visits to an Al-Anon group. This subject is tough to deal with, but I appreciate the author not painting all addicts with a broad brush of the bad guy, but more a person who needs to want to get better. The subject tied in strongly with both Tanner and Sadie’s stories.
I enjoyed Tanner and Sadie’s story, and I am sure it provides another HEA for fans of this series. Kudos to Lea Coll for addressing those who attend Al-Anon groups. We often forget these people who walk that difficult path of loving an addict and the hard choices.
I enjoyed this book. The characters where well rounded, the story was good, the book well written. This is a small town romance with a single dad raising his daughter dealing with an ex with an addiction problem.
Sadie has a bad reputation in the small town and is judged harshly but most everyone including Tanner. Although their chemistry is explosive and their relationships moves quickly.
There is a sweet HEA and a cute bonus epilogue as well.
**I was generously provided with an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review**
I loved this book so much. Tanner is a transplant to the small town and a police officer and single dad was so swoony. Sadie grew up in the town and there are rumors surrounding her. Between the rumors and how she was raised she tried to keep her head down and not let anyone in. All it took was seeing Sadie for the first time and Tanner was taken with her. This story takes you through the time it took to forge a friendship, start a relationship and for them to fall in love. Tanner’s glass half full perspective helps show Sadie she doesn’t need to keep her defenses so high. Sadie’s story is heartbreaking on how she got to where she is in life and Tanner doesn’t judge her at all and is just there for her when no one ever has been before. Then add in an adorable little girl who is smitten with her dance teacher who becomes her dad’s girlfriend and you can’t help but fall in love with Tanner and Rylan and hope Sadie sees what could be if she takes a leap. I was glued to this book to see what the rumors were about, how everyone would react and what would happen next. This was such a sweet book where Sadie got everything she deserved from growing up with an alcoholic mother and feeling like an outsider.
