When she saw him for the first time, it was like putting a face and a voice to a soul she already knew well. The new Kumari is under attack in Tainted by Prophecy, a Fantasy Reverse Harem from International Bestselling Author Hanleigh Bradley.Even at its very beginning, her reign felt tainted by the prophecies that surrounded it and the death that they foretold. They were dark, speaking of unknown … foretold.
They were dark, speaking of unknown evils and the potential destruction of the realm and even the eradication of magic. It was not a destiny that Bae, the Kumari, wanted but it was the one allotted her.
Bae wished that she could deny them, call them falsehoods but she couldn’t, not when the fate of the whole realm rested on her shoulders.
It might cost her her life, or the lives of those she loved most, but she would stop at nothing to save magic, save her ren and hopefully save herself.
Tainted by Prophecy is the second book in Kumari’s Kitsune, a seven book Fantasy/ PNR Reverse Harem Series.
Magic calls to magic. Heart calls to heart. Mind calls to mind.
“A magically addictive action packed fantasy Romance. I was totally enthralled.”

Bae, the Kumari, continues to travel the realms in search of her 7 mates. She has been haunted with believing that she may be living the life spelled out in the prophecy of evil and there’s nothing she can do about it. The mates she has claimed up until this point, are considerate, loving and help her through all her troubles. What she doesn’t know is that someone is working behind the scenes to make sure that Bae doesn’t live, along with her baby. She wants to rule the real. There are questions raised about loyalty and trust, and Bae remembers the words of her mother telling her not to trust anybody, not even friends and family, because they may turn on her. This continues to be a story that fascinates me with the lush description and the vivid characterization with which Ms. Bradley writes. Elizabeth LaRose is a terrific narrator with a dynamic voice that gives each character a unique personality. I’m anxious to read the next book to see where Bae’s journey takes her.
So this is the second book in the series so read book 1 first if you haven’t already. It picks up slowly but after a few chapters it catches you and doesn’t let you go. Bae needs to claim seven mates but is facing some hard things. Loved ones die, trying to make sure she takes who helps with the prophecy. This isn’t your weak damsel in distress book and is a nice breather since she fights for what she wants and protects who she cares for. The guys she did claim are really nice and caring to Bae. A must read in my opinion.
I am a lover of fantasy and this lived up to all of my expectations.
Tainted by Prophecy is the second in its series. Even though I didn’t, I suggest you read them in order.
Even though I didn’t read the first book, I was able to catch on within the first two chapters. If you are looking for story filled with magic and adventure, look no further. Bae is a victim of a prophecy that might change her world as she knows it. Between fulfilling her duties and trying to save the magic world, she has her hands full and little time to adjust to her new life. The author describes the different magical tribes with clear details. I look forward to the rest of the series.
I was totally hooked to my kindle from the very beginning as I turned each and every page of the well written and well planned plot and characters that were so well developed that I stayed totally invested until the very end!
I missed the first book in this series, and while i quickly caught caught up to what was going on and who was who, I would advise it best to read these in order, so to gt the full story ad the nuances that would be missed otherwise.
Probably because of this i found it in the beginning chapters a little slow and did not grab my attention, however the more i read, the more i wanted to know what was happening and i found that i was able to finish the remaining chapters in one sitting. The characters are certainly unique even if the reverse harem trope isn’t. Bae certainly has her work cut out for her, not only managing to try and protect her Ren, but claiming the men that should help with the prophecy. But trials and death follow on her heels as friends and loved ones die as her journey continues.
Her already claimed mates are great characters too, caring an concerned about her safety, whilst those still to be claimed are left waiting until their turn.
A good read throughout.
What an amazing book! This has been a wonderful set of books. I cannot wait to read the next one. This is her continuing stories that she tries to bring the seven of her suitors together. Even though she isn’t two of them she can’t clean them except for in a certain order. I am absolutely in love with this this has some elements of Japanese culture as the Kitsune is one of the bases in their lore the seven tailed fox. And I love how she games a different Insight with each one of her suitors. Although the first one is still got to be my favorite that she cleaned in the first book. But everything goes as she claims each one of her suitors one of her father’s must die. Seems so unfair is the life of the Kumari. I’m so ready for the next book I cannot wait to read it. And see what happens.
The more I read and get to know all the characters and their world, the more I want to know.
It wasn’t a dull moment in this book. Sometimes I had to go back and read a part again, so I wouldn’t miss anything and at the same time make the book last a little bit longer.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I wasn’t sure what to expect reading this as I hadn’t read the first book. But thankfully it is not necessary, but if you have the chance read book 1 first. It started a little slow for me but then it rolled fast and I was hooked. I loved the magic and how Bae finds her mates. The intrigue happening around her and her relationships with her family and friends. All the previous Queens mates and how they deal with the strife happening all around them. I can’t wait to find out about her remaining mates and what happens when they are all together.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
Loving Bae and Armel and her other choices.Intense beautiful emotional.Love this love story.Cant wait to see her next choice
was a fantastic read that sucked me in from the Begining and I must read the first book because wow this one just blew me away. Looking forward to see what’s next!
Book 2 Of The Kumari’s story is just as intriguing as Book1 finding more mates, keeping everyone safe until they can bring the 7 together loving this series.
The Kumari is on a quest to secure her ren to ensure the continuity of her magic and realm. Adelaide has become one of my favorite characters along with Bae. This is the second book in the series and doesn’t disappoint with all the twists and turns.
I received a free copy of this book and submit my opinion for your review.
I received for an honest review
This was part two of this series and it was just as good as the first I loved the characters and the story fantastically well written
Bae’s story that began in Cursed By the Crown continues in Tainted By Prophecy. She has found two of her mates but must claim her other five mates in order to save her magic and her realm. It will take all her skill and determination to overcome the forces that are battling against her.
This story takes you a twists suspense filled journey that leaves you wanting more of Bae and her mates.
This next part of Bae’s is no less trying. Each character is dynamic with a lot of history. This book is filled with a mixture of tear and laughter, sometimes even at the same time. I am excited to find out what happen next.
The narrator is easy to understand and coveys emotion well. Her voice was dynamic and it was easy to differentiate the characters in the back and forth dialogue.
It’s a rollercoaster of feelings and situations. It’s hard to deal with prophecies, new mates, deaths and dangers all at the same time, and record time as a matter of fact. Even harder if you feel so much pressure due to being Kumari. Hold on, the ride is great.
What a super amazing story that will suck you in and have you on a emotional roller coaster ride that will have you hooked tell the very end
This is the second book in the series, and while I’d strongly recommend reading them in order, I believe that this one could make sense on its own. Coming into this book, Bae has already claimed 2 of her 7 mates. In this book we get to see two more claimings. But the prophecies are unfolding and tragedy abounds. Bae must claim the rest of her mates before she can hope to save her realm. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
A wonderful read that will suck you into it’s world.
I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review
