We have a history. From USA Today bestselling author Terri Anne Browning, comes a new ROCKER series—Tainted Knights. His childhood was full of darkness and all I have ever wanted was to give him the light. Now he puts that darkness into his music, and protecting the girl who has always worshiped him. But time changes people. It has changed me. I’m no longer the little caterpillar he has always … longer the little caterpillar he has always called me. I know he needs me—I need him too.
Now I have to make a choice…
Stay and pretend like he hasn’t eviscerated my heart.
Or let go of him completely.

Tainted Butterfly
Tainted Butterfly is book two in the Tainted Knights series and focuses on Gray and Kassa
Gray and Kassa basically grow up together in the same house with Gray’s Aunt as their Guardian. As the years progress they are best friends and share every secret with each other, but even though they love each other – the age gap makes things harder until Gray notices how his “caterpillar” has evolved into an even more beautiful butterfly
I really enjoyed this friends to lovers romance by TerriI also love that she didn’t rehash events that occurred in book one but only slight glimpses so you know the timeline you’re followingA not to be missed addition to this series and I’m eager to see what this author has in store for us for the other Tainted Knights
Much more heartbreaking than I thought it would be!
It was a LONG journey for Kassa & Gray but I’m happy I stuck it out. It felt so good FINALLY seeing them come together even if it didn’t happen until the 83% mark. #ThatActuallyKilledMe
Gray… I think I romanticized him back in Tainted Kiss & I really wish I hadn’t done it. I LOVED the way he protected Kassa but it truly hurt my heart to hear what a manwh*** he was before getting together with her. Hundreds of girls, her hearing him in the early days have sex in the room next door, him admitting to himself the guilty feelings he had when he got off… #PlugsEars On the bright side, his year-long celibacy when Kassa moved in with him & Jace was hella sexy. #NowThatsWhatI’mTalkinBout
Kassa… I actually think I liked her character more than Gray’s. She put herself out there earlier on, she kept her friendship with Gray even though he rejected her romantically & she was so dang sweet. My one gripe about her was her wanting to hide their relationship for a bit. C’mon Kas, you should’ve shouted that sh*t from the rooftops! Claim yo’ man as soon as you can!! 🙂
Regardless of the crap that irked me, I was so very pleased with what happened in the epilogue. I wish we would’ve gotten more story after they got together but I’m pretty stoked with how he officially took Kassa off the market.
Looking forward to more books in the series! Those little tidbits about Sin & Cash were such a tease!!
Side Note: Not liking the fact that it was noted in the epilogue how Jace & Kin have been fighting lately… Sounds like HEA trouble to me & I ain’t got time for that sh**. #Eeek
I could tell from Tainted Kiss that Gray was a troubled character and there was a lot that he was hiding. I could also tell that Kassa was a beautiful, sweet soul. I knew there would most likely be a long road ahead for them if they were to find happiness.
The story of Gray and Kassa is both insta love and a slow burn. It begins with tragedy, and follows the story of not only Gray and Kassa, but also the Tainted Knights. It provides alot of back story about the band, how they got to where they are in the other books (Rocking Kin and Tainted Kiss). It’s a beautiful story about how an innocent love can change over time, and how if you aren’t paying attention it might pass you by.
I love how sweet, patient, and loyal Kassa is. Gray, on the other hand, is haunted by his past, and unable to believe he is worthy of Kassa. I love the way that he is so protective of Kassa and loving with her, even though he believes he can’t have her.
This story was less about outside drama, and more about the feelings and thoughts of the main characters. I feel like I understand their actions and motivations after spending so much time in their heads, maybe more invested in the progression of their relationship. There were times when I was brought to tears, both sad and happy, and times when I just wanted to tell Gray that he was being stupid!
Although this book would probably be great as a stand alone, I totally recommend reading the other books of this and the connected series first.
