He can keep his hands to himself, at work and at the swing dance class they both joined. Well, he has no chance to touch her at swing, she’s learning to lead, too.

This series has really grabbed my attention. Each book is entertaining and fun to read. In this one the story is well-written with great characters you’ll love getting to know. It’s a realistic look into a female working in the military and doing her best to be the best she can be. Definitely a must read.

“No problem with you being on top. You’re welcome to do all the hard work.” Oh wait… George is talking about the kitchen. Annie and George cook together on a Royal Navy ship. She’s super busy when they’re on shore, stretching herself to volunteer in a number of ways and places. George, not so big on the volunteering unless there’s a personal benefit for him. They join the swing dancing group for something to do. There are more than a few sparks flying between them, but they’re just friends without benefits. For now. Annie had a problem on another ship – a fraternization charge that was actually harassment – so she’s a little gun shy about moving forward. Can they handle a relationship? Can they keep is a secret? Can they deal with the aftermath if someone finds out? This is another terrific book in this swing-based series. Annie is a strong and independent woman, who was hurt, both personally and professionally, by the actions of her co-workers on the other ship. Annie and George are so meant to be together. It was nice to see some of the characters from previous books, and very nice to see Annie and George headed for their happy ending.

Cooking in tight quarters in the galley kitchen of the Royal Australian Navy patrol boat, Annie and Able Seaman George Brodie were arguing over whether the crew would eat the corn fritters as she was adding coriander which he claimed made them taste like dirt. As Annie turned to get the batter for the griddle, the boat rolled, she bumped into George, and the bowl of batter he carried went all over her and the floor. As she tried to move, she slipped on the mess and fell. When the Commanding Officer asked about the fritters and heard she used coriander, the wrinkled nose let her know George had been right.
The CO walked in to talk to Annie and George about their next goal—both hoping for the Leading Seaman promotion. The CO had been tasked with nominating a cook for the next deployment, and she felt a deployment would be helpful in getting the promotion. Since each was willing to deploy, she told them she would be watching the two of them to make her decision later. All Annie needs to do is stay out of trouble, not burn the food, and hope the incident from her last ship doesn’t come up. But after only 3 days, it was becoming harder and harder to keep her mind and heart off her handsome co-worker! No romance allowed!
When Nathan told them about the swing dance at the Railway Club on Wednesdays, they both decided to give it a try. George said Annie could help him talk to the girls. Was that what she wanted? Could they keep their hands to themselves? And who would the CO choose for deployment?
I had more trouble with the slang in this book; it felt like there was more being used this time, but I figured it out through context. I really like this series and found the book enjoyable. The characters are well developed and likable. The story line is well-paced from beginning to end and kept the reader fully involved. Grab your copy and see if they find what they really want.
Another fun and Swing filled story.
I thought I might learn the fate of a jealous ex from previous books, but not yet, so I must read on !
This story finds members of the Australian Royal Navy working their rounds of assignments and training- and discovering Swing dance, friendships and love along the way.
Military spouse Sarah shows up again. She seems a loyal friend and a good sounding board for the youngsters and newbies.
Sweet, funny, and angst filled.
Love the strong and complex women in this series as they work their ways through their lives- and dance!

I read all the previous books in this series and I still love it. George and Annie (the names were chosen for the puns with swing moves) work closely together for the Navy. They take a long time to be more than friends because of the no fraternization rule. It is a compelling story that is so much more than a love story. I really don’t want this series to end! Great read!
