Chase Calloway’s career ending football injury gave him the out he needed.Switching gears from being the star quarterback with a shot at the NFL to checking anal glands of furry senior patients wasn’t exactly the plan. However, it gave him the purrfect excuse to stop pursuing dreams that were never his. Winnie Grey got exiled from her posh existence to the boondocks as pet-sitter extraordinaire. … extraordinaire.
It wasn’t her fault she stopped a shoplifter by pulling the fire alarm and got fired from her job. She can’t help that dog acupuncture makes her faint, but lucky for the city girl in exile, the town’s hottest veterinarian catches her, literally.
Tailwind is book four in the Love By Design series of stand alone contemporary romantic comedies, but many readers prefer to read the series in order.

This was an absolutely hilarious romantic comedy.
Winnie Gray is a directionless, spoiled brat that flies by the seat of her pants. She was fired from two jobs back to back and her parents have cut off her trust fund. She has to go to upstate New York for the summer to pet sit her Aunt’s three dogs. She has to take one of the dogs to the vet for it’s acupuncture appointment.
Chase Calloway is the local veterinarian. His mother is constantly trying to match make for him and he has a very strained relationship with his father. His sister has no filter and is juggling dating two of his friends. After catching Winnie when she faints at the acupuncture appointment, Chase decides to pursue dating her. Their first date is his Mother’s July 4th barbeque.

What a great funny read this was. These two could not of been any different, she’s a big city girl and he’s a small town vet. Chase and Winnie had sparks from the minute she fainted in his arms. These two had me laughing out loud, and giddy like a school girl at the same time.
Winnie Grey is the life of the party! Winnie enjoys all that life and her parent’s money has to offer her… and boy does she enjoy it. With parents that are divorced and having their own war of the roses Winnie has been flying under the radar for a while living the high life. One day Winnie has pushed her boundaries too far and it has placed her center state in her mother’s eyesight. The only thing is Winnie has no idea what it is she wants to do with her life and this concerns her family. To help Winnie gain some perspective her mother sends her to the wilderness, a quaint little town, to help her aunt and find purpose for her life. With the pitter patter of little feet can her little guardian angels show her the way???
Chase Calloway had a lot of dreams and playing football was not one of them. With a father who is a sports fiend and a football coach Chase did did not have much of a choice when it came to his future. Tragically an accident put an end to his father’s football dreams gave Chase the out he needed to follow his passion. After a long day at work fate lends a hand and brings Chase and Winnie together in a way that has left long lasting effects on both of them to the point that neither of them will ever be the same. Will they take the leap to have one life for a lifetime???
I loved the vibe that Winnie has and the confidence of Chase. They made a solid couple who I could definitely hang out with. Two people searching one for stability and the other coming into her own they did not have all of the answers but they embraced their journey to their own happily ever after. Yet another gem by the author and a job well done!

I’d like to preface my review by stating that this is the first book I have read by this author and I have not read the previous books in this series. I had a bit of an issue with the heroine at first. Honestly, there was just something about her. I didn’t dislike her so much as have a hard time really connecting with her for the first few chapters. That being said, I greatly enjoyed reading Tailwind.
I absolutely loved the hero. The story is about a professional athlete who has been thrown a curveball in life and has to essentially plan B it for the rest of his life. He isn’t exactly ecstatic about it, but he works with the hand life has handed him. That makes for an admirable character. The heroine… meh. At least at first. She did grow on me though. The sparks didn’t jump off the page, but they were there so it was a fun read.
I’ll definitely be reading the previous books in the series.
Tailwind by M.C. Cerny is book 4 in the Love By Design Series. This is the story of Winnie Grey and Chase Calloway. I have read the previous book which did add to my enjoyment of this one but I did think it could be a standalone book if you wish to do so. Chase is the popular Veterinary who happens to be taking care of the dogs Winnie has been sent to babysit. Sparks fly between the two and their is some funny but hot scene. Enjoyed.
Tailwind is fun romantic com story with a unique meeting of the character that will just have you stopping for a moment to think. Chase is a vet and Winnie is pet sitter for her aunt. They meet when one of Winnie’s dogs has an acupuncture appointment, and she faints. This is a sweet story that will have you smiling, with a bit of drama but oh so great story.

Chase is a veterinarian and Winnie is staying at her aunts place this summer, watching the three dogs for her. Chase and Winnie cross paths when she has to take one of the dogs for an acupuncture treatment. That starts a storyline of a fun, sweet and steamy romance. Loved the banter and the situations they get into, like the kidney stone. What a way to meet your dad! Loved the ending and her fathers comment… never going to live it down, Chase. Very welld one.

Engaging, charmingly funny story. This was a witty, often funny, laugh-out-loud storyline about Winnie, the inept temporary dogsitter to no less than 3 of her aunt’s dogs and Chase, an ex-football player, now the small-town hunky vet. At times, I was in stitches. All the character’s in the book were very well developed and described. The story had a scene-appropriate intelligent dialogue with natural humour and general goodwill. The book is hot but not excessively so. The language, vocabulary, style and editing added to the book’s appeal. It was an easy-to-read, light-hearted page-turner that will appeal to all those who welcome a storyline that is within the realms of reality, rather than every male hero being an alpha billionaire. Would be happy to recommend this novel to all romance lovers.

This book is my intro to this author. As you can tell by the title it’s part of a series but apparently they’re all standalone novels. This book is focused on Chase and Winnie being introduced in an unexpected manner. Additionally, Chase has a favor to ask of Winnie shed have never expected. There’s laughter, friendship, drama and love.
I look forward to reading more by this author after this page turner introduction.

I thought this book was great! I loved the characters of Chase and Winnie a lot! I really liked their attitude and outlook on life and their back-and-forth snarky banter was wonderful! The romance was fast-paced and the heat level was high! I am looking forward to reading more of the books in this series. They all sound like they are going to be just as much fun to read!

Chase and Winnie are so different and I think that makes them good together. I liked that Chase is the town vet and that is how he meets Winnie when she brings her aunts dogs in. Winnie is a city girl sent to care for her aunt’s pets and I loved that it turned into something great for her.

I found this story sweet, romantic and funny. I liked Chase more than Winnie, she’s a bit immature and childish, the animals give the story a comic component that made me laugh. All in all it’s a nice read.

I really liked this rom-com story. It was entertaining and enjoyable with plenty of laughs and feels. The characters were interesting and likable. Winnie is a spoiled brat that lives her life aimlessly. After her parents cut her off, she is sent to her Aunt’s to pet-sit her three dogs for the summer. When she takes the dogs to the vet as one of them has an acupuncture appointment she meets Chase, the local veterinarian. Chase catches Winnie when she faints at the acupuncture appointment. Chase decides to date her. Chase and Winnie get a great happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

I read the first two books in this series and I adored them, so I figured I would give this book a chance. Unfortunately, this book didn’t give me the same laugh out loud moments and I didn’t feel the same chemistry for the H and h in this book.
I liked that the characters were familiar to me, and I was happy to hear Chase’s story for finding love. However, Winnie’s story was odd. She was banished to pet sitting for her aunt–which was really weird for an adult woman that already had a college degree. I am not sure why she ever agreed to that.
Additionally, there was no resolution as to where she was going after she left her aunt’s house.
And the relationship between Winnie and Chase progressed from a first date to boyfriend/girlfriend to talk about marriage way too quickly for me. I just didn’t find their romance that believable. There were definitely some heated, sexy times and some crazy family times, but other than those things, the book just didn’t really hold my interest.
I would still read from this author again, because Book 2 UNLOVELY THINGS was amazing!

Winnie and Chase’s story, Winnie has been sent to the back end of nowhere to pet sit for her aunt for the summer after things go awry back home. Here’s where she meets Chase the hunky vet.
They have a good connection, they make each other laugh and it’s all about them finding their way together even though they’re at different stages in their own lives, they still want to make it work!
A fun quirky read of opposites attract with an age-gap

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Winsome/Winnie and Chase. She’s a tiny woman sent to pet sit at her aunt’s house after getting into to trouble in NYC. Chase played football but it’s now the town vet. They meet when Winnie takes the dogs in for acupuncture and faints. They have a instant connection but since she’s only in town for the summer, it can’t happen. Chase will do what ever it takes to get Winnie to take him seriously. Great HEA.
