#1 New York Times bestselling author Sandra Brown returns with a potent fusion of tantalizing suspense and romance, in a thriller about a reckless pilot caught in a race against time. Rye Mallett, a fearless “freight dog” pilot charged with flying cargo to far-flung locations, is often rough-spoken, usually unshaven, and he never gets the regulation eight hours of shut-eye before a flight; but … hours of shut-eye before a flight; but he does have a rock-solid reputation: he will fly in the foulest weather, day or night, and deliver the goods safely to their destination. So, when Rye is asked to fly into a completely fogbound Northern Georgia town and deliver a mysterious black box to a Dr. Lambert, he doesn’t ask why–he just ups his price.
As Rye’s plane nears the isolated landing strip, more trouble than inclement weather awaits him. He is greeted first by a sabotage attempt that causes him to crash land, and then by Dr. Brynn O’Neal, who claims she was sent for the box in Dr. Lambert’s stead. Despite Rye’s “no-involvement” policy when it comes other people’s problems, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to the intrigue surrounding his cargo…and to the mysterious and attractive Brynn O’Neal.
Soon Rye and Brynn are in a treacherous 48-hour race to deliver the box before time runs out. With the hours slipping by and everyone from law enforcement officials to hired thugs hot on their heels, the two must protect their valuable cargo from those who would kill for it–that is, if they can trust each other.

I had the pleasure of listening to the latest audible book by Sandra Brown. Tailspin is her latest suspense thriller with a dash of romance. As always, Sandra provides us with a strong and intelligent woman as a main character, Dr. Brynn O’Niell. Of course we need a rough and tough pilot to ultimately be the guy to drive her crazy, Rye Mallett. He’s a “freight dog” kind of pilot who has no fear! Thrown together by emergent circumstances, the suspense begins to build. I think this was one of my favorites so far! It’s exciting and keeps you engaged and interested! I recommend the audible version, you’ll love the narration! Bravo Sandra, another awesome book!
I always enjoy reading Sandra Brown’s book. It was good, fast reading but I liked some of her others better. Lee
Sandra Brown keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out if the hero will win. Great book.
Very slow starting! Once it got rolling it became a page turner! I have enjoyed most of her other books more, but still a good read.
Warning: Adult Sexual Content and Subject Matter, which you can skip over and still fully enjoy the book
Rye Mallett is a pilot that flies cargo all over the world. He has a great reputation for meeting deadlines and always delivering the goods no matter the weather or time of day. The airports are socked in and there is a delivery of a black box to be made that Rye volunteers to take to the final destination despite the weather conditions. Taking the black box from the plane leads him to danger when he is sabotaged and his plane crashes. The person who arrives at the disabled plane is not the person Rye expected for the pick-up of the black box nor is it the person who brought down his plane. From here on out Rye must be careful as he tries to figure out the story of the black box and just who’s side this person who came to the plane is on and what she is really about. Dr. Brynn O’Neal is all about secrets and wants the black box. Both she and Rye are in for surprising details about the box. There are points in the book where the storyline dragged but overall the story was good with an occasional surprise.
Sandra Brown’s novels are always a mind escape with rich scenarios , action and romance ! Great beach read !
