Davenport takes a different path this time around and delivers a deliciously, fascinating sports fantasy. Gage and Alisa are a house of cards. What happens when the trust had is toppled by the secrets kept? Tackled in Seattle is a tale of heartstopping romance, captivating storytelling and unbelievable twists. Shock and awe takes center stage in the most unlikely of settings.
This is my first time reading a book by Jami Davenport. I enjoyed Alisa and Gage’s story. They had a lot of obstacles to overcome, which makes the story extremely realistic and interesting. I find myself enjoying more sports romances, and this is one to add to that list.
I enjoyed this second book in the Men of Tyee series. Alisa and Gage are really good characters because there is much more to them than what there seems to be. Up until now they’ve only ever had a purely physical relationship until he was injured and then walked away from her without a word the year prior. Despite what they each thought, it was not only physical, they’d definitely had an impact on each other. Now that they are both back at Tyee, will they pick up where they left off or maybe even discover they can have more? Or will Alisa’s new found princess status get in the way? Can Gage come back from his injury and find a place for himself in the NFL? If he does how will that impact him and Alisa?is there a way for them to each have what they want in life and each other? Ms Davenport gives us another likable couple in this series to cheer on for a HEA! I look forward to more from the Desperados.
This is book #2, in the Men Of Tyee series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding of the series, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading these in order.
Alisa has been in love with Gage since the day they met. The attraction was instant, and the heat between them literally melts all who witness. Her future may not include him, however, since she just found out she will be leaving the country.
Gage has had a hard time recently. He was on the fast track to be recruited, when an accident left him with nerves that are not working toward his goal. His one good thing in life was Alisa, and she seems so distant.
This story moves along at a rapid pace. There is so much going on. The heat between the two principles is very steamy and comes quickly off the page. I love that no matter what they are gravitating toward on another. I cannot wait to read the next installment in this new Men Of Tyee series.

What happens when your life is completely turned upside down you either accept it or you don’t. That’s what happens to Alisa & Gage.
Alisa is a young college student but when she finds out she truly is a Princess she accepts the challenge of living her life like royalty and moving away from the only life she knows, what she doesn’t expect is moving away from Gage would be harder than she thought.
Gage is a man that has always wanted to make it into the NFL and become the son that would be there to help his family have a easier life and to make them proud of the man he becomes. What he never expects is that Alisa wasn’t just a causal hook-up but someone he has grown to care for or even to love.
What happens is that they both need to either accept their fates or try and find a way to be together or just move on with their lives. You will watch this couple go through so many emotional ups and downs but what you hope is they can find a way to have a HEA that both truly deserve.
Ms. Davenport continues her story of the Men of Tyee with Gage and Lis, Riley and Tif’s best friends from Sacked in Seattle and the Game on Series…This shows us the journey of Gage and Lis from college students not sure of their place in the world due to changing circumstances. Both characters thought they had one view of the world and plan for their future and both had their worlds turned upside down and were not sure how to deal with it. The story brings them together as they separately try to follow their paths to their true futures and each other. I will admit that in the middle of this story I had some problems with the way Lis was handling her life decisions and how her journey unfolded. Both characters had a lot of growing up to do and I felt made poor choices at times. I actually wasn’t sure if I wanted them to find each other. In the end they get their HEA and we get to be introduced to more characters that I am sure we will all fall in love with in Ms. Davenports upcoming two new sub-series in the Game on Family.

Tackled In Seattle was the second book in the Men of Tyee series by Jamie Davenport.
Gage Harmon was a wounded quarterback. We met him in book one, Sacked in Seattle, where he was the star college quarterback with NFL promise, until he was injured. Tackled in Seattle picked up at the start of the next season with Gage struggling to get back his form.
Alisa Brown had changes of her own. We met her previously as Tiffany’s best friend and Gage’s routine hookup. Alisa and Gage were no longer hooking up and Alisa was struggling with some big news.
Davenport took us on a journey of two new adults paving their way in the world. It was a path of discovery, new beginnings and honesty. It was a quick and enjoyable read.
Davenport also set up a new spinoff, The Scoring series, which highlights Easton in the first book, Shutout. It has promise to be a heartbreaker and I can’t wait!
Another winner by Jami! This book is about Alisa and Gage…college “buddies” who both have secrets. When Gage had an injury he push everyone, including Alisa away which hurt her because she thought they were more. During the summer and her time away from school, she learns that the dad she knows is not really her dad but her biological dad is a Prince and she is a Princess! Over the summer she meets her new family and decides that she wants to take on her role in the royal family.
Gage’s persona is not who he really is…he lets everyone think what they want to think and never corrects them…he comes from a poor farm family in Virginia. He is proud of his parents but tries to keep his roots a secret because of a past girlfriend. He keeps this from Alisa just as she keeps the princess secret.
There are a few interesting twists and turns in their relationship that add both humor and sadness to the story. You will not go wrong with this read!
I was offered an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Alisa has a secret. She just found out that she is a true Princess. One who is being forced into a marriage. One problem she loves a football player who pushed her away after an injury.
Gage plays football professionally. He never let’s anyone close for fear the will discover the secret about his family. After an injury he pushed the love of uos life away and then became timid for his life away.
The push and pull dance between Alisa and Gage created a story I couldn’t put down. Thank you for another great story.
Delightful fairy tale with a gridiron twist.
This book was not what I originally expected but it was charming and delightful page turner until the very end. The storyline centers around Gage & Alisa who have some serious chemistry but continue to dance around each other for the better part of a year. When they finally decide to take their smoldering and sinfully sexy chemistry to a new level, they also try and navigate their feelings for each other but untold secrets surface for both of them, that jeopardizes everything that they could have together. Gage and Alisa have their own demands placed on themselves that they must fulfill and as they try finding their own paths, they always seem to lead back to each other and the reader is taken on that journey as these two characters find their balance between their hopes and dreams and the feelings they have for each other.
It is truly a sexy, sweet and entertaining story of being true to yourself, believing in yourself and where fairy tales do really come true.
Yet another great book in this series. Alisa and Gage have secrets and as we all know, keeping secrets can have big consequences as they both find out. Always great characters and an excellent storyline.
I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
This was a nice story about two college almost graduates and their life after college. Alisa and Gage hooked up the previous year but he had an injury and kinda told her to leave him alone. Why? Because everyone thinks he is a rich college kid when he is really a poor college kid.
Alisa meanwhile discovered she is British royalty and has come back to school to graduate and then plans to live in England as a princess. Both end up living together with a bunch of other guys in a house Coop and Izzy own.
Yep we see a little of Izzy, Cooper, Tanner, and Riley in this book which was fantastic.
I enjoyed this story and don’t want to get too much into the plot because a lot happens and the life they each think they will lead is not the one they end up with. Choices are made and futures are plotted and I highly enjoyed the surprises along the way.
This was a fun romance with some really great characters who have some hard decisions to make as they face the life after college. I loved how the author used characters from other books in this book to help out.
I love reading the modern day fairy tale come true, but this one has a little twist. The fairy tale comes true for the guy and the girl. Both Gage and Alissa are fighting for their future, one a little harder than the other but both fight for their dreams.
Alissa has a life changing summer that puts her in a league of her own. Gage has spent the summer recuperating and now fighting to make his dream and his families dreams come true. Losing themselves in one another proves that they share something more that just the physical, something that could last for more than a semester.
The characters in this book speak to the reality of assumptions, how people judge or place you in a boxed set of expectations, whether they are true or not.
An interesting ways of portraying the Cinderella story, but instead of a glass slipper we have a football cleat!
I got way more than what I was expecting from this story. Not that I really went into it with a whole lot of thought because any sports romance that Jamie Davenport writes, I just #oneclick, site unseen BUT, this had a unique twist to it that I had no idea was coming (because I didn’t even bother to read the synopsis LOL).
I loved the idea of Alisa turning out to be a princess and Gage being from a farming family!! You feel me, right? The whole class struggle and keeping everything secret and not being able to stay away from each other was just pure heart you guys! I would sum up the story of these two as sweet and romantic. They have lots working against them, but you’ll be rooting for them! GAH, this story made me so damn happy!!
I loved Gage and Alisa’s story! It has a very entertaining storyline and fantastic characters! There were twists that kept me reading! I couldn’t put it down! Tackled in Seattle was a captivating, heart stopping romance that everyone should read!
Tackled in Seattle is charmingly written and a delight to read, there are some of my favourite trope college sports romance meets the royals.
Alisa and Gage are college students, they have a lot of chemistry and they have hooked up for months until they drifted apart. During Summer break their lives have changed so much that when they meet again their relationship has become more complicated.
Will they be honest with each other in order to rekindle their relationship?Or will their uncertain future put their hopes for a longer commitment definitely to rest?
Even if this is the second book of this series it could be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend to read every book written by Jami Davenport becase they are all very good.
This was an interesting and unique football story but I thoroughly enjoyed it!!
Possible SPOILERS

°**° The Ball Player and The Princess °*°*
I love every one of Jamie Davenport’s books and have been reading them since I laid eyes on them years ago and to date, her name for me has been synonymous with sports romances. With Gage and Alisa’s story, she’s added royalty to the mix. We met them in Riley and Tiff’s story, Sacked In Seattle, and I couldn’t wait to read theirs. Hell’s teeth, they were both busy shagging their individual ways through college, but it was fun seeing them trying to sort out their friend’s relationship while keeping it casual for themselves.
When each of them experiences a watershed moment in their lives, both are stunned at the level of hurt they suffer in missing the other. The only trouble is, while Gage has realised he wants it all, Alisa’s change is circumstance is so extreme that she daren’t risk anything! Ms. Davenport’s descriptions of the tenacious and romantic Gage versus the new almost nun-like Alisa are fun yet thought provoking, and beg the question, what would you give up to become part of the royal family. An unlikely but fascinating scenario nonetheless.
The icing on the cake is the reappearance of past heroes and characters. I loved it. 4.5 Stars.
A fun sports story with a different twist.
Gage and Alisa are college students who come from different back grounds. A few years back they got to make out regularly but were not interested in getting into a
relationship but after meeting up again, Gage realizes he really does love Alisa and would like to try for a real relationship with her. But there is one small thing holding them both back, their identities. Gage is a farmers son, they didn’t have a lot growing up, and unfortunately he won’t be graduating, and Alisa has just found out she is a Princess, a true blood line and will have responsibilities.
Tackled in Seattle is a captivating tale with intriguing twists and a heartwarming love story. Gage and Alisa were a great couple, their chemistry was phenomenal.
A very entertaining story a great addition to the series. A definite must read!
