Gage and Alisa’s story was a good and steamy read. This was my first time reading one of Jami Davenport’s books but will not be my last. I will admit that I would have probably enjoyed it even more if I had read the previous book in this series even though it is a standalone, just because there were a few times I felt lost by not knowing these two’s past. Tackled in Seattle was a good book and definitely worth picking up.
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
Tackled In Seattle, the second book in the Rookies Men of Tyee series was definitely a good one. While this is part of a series, you can definitely read it as a standalone and not have any issues at all.
Gage was the starting quarterback until a broken leg sidelined him and now his backup has taken his job. He’s always been one that keeps things to himself, especially information about his personal life. No one asks, so he doesn’t offer. He’s always dreamed of making it to the NFL, but now that he’s not playing, he’s unsure if he’ll be able to make that dream a reality and to compound problems, he’s not going to graduate either, so he’s got to figure out where his life is heading.
Alisa has recently learned that she is a real life princess. It wasn’t until her stepfather passed away that her Mom shared with her who her biological father was. To learn that she is the daughter of one of England’s royal family members has been quite an adjustment and the real changes are forthcoming.
Gage and Alisa had been together the previous school year and it was mostly a physical relationship. After Gage broke his leg, he pushed her away so he didn’t have to reveal the truth about his upbringing and the fact he wasn’t as affluent as everyone thought he was. When they see one another again at school, the chemistry between them has not diminished at all, but they feel they can’t be together. Will they really be able to stay away from one another? And even when Alisa has to leave the country, is this really the end for them?
This couple sees many highs and lows, but in the end all of the things they go through help to make them stronger. I really enjoyed how all of it played out and evolved over the course of the book. It was entertaining and one that I would recommend.
I liked Alisa and Gage’s story. I enjoyed the complexity of these characters. What would normally be a straightforward and simple romance is complicated by big changes for each of these characters. I felt for these two. Neither one was really in an enviable position. I can’t even imagine how it would feel to have your whole life and what you knew about yourself be turned on its head in an instant and that is exactly what happens to Alisa. Gage is going through his own struggles and I could totally relate to his frustration, anger, anxiety and lost feeling from having a lack of control. I thought that this emotional read was very entertaning.
Oh what an adventure this book is! Go from college in Seattle to Buckingham Palace in England all within the covers! This story is awesome, I love Jami Davenport’s words. The swing of emotions are all there, from happy to be a hook-up, to realizing that you are in love, only too late, or is it?
I love Alisa and Gage, they are so fun!
