Molly is too young. Too innocent.
And she’s pretending to be my son’s girlfriend.
It’s a real shame how her sweet curves challenge this cowboy’s code.
When my son comes to visit the family ranch, he brings Molly along.
A pretty little temptation my son tries to pass off as his girlfriend.
But I know one thing’s for certain: My son doesn’t chase women.
Molly’s a tiny little thing… especially … thing… especially next to me.
She’s adorable. Big blue eyes. A sassy mouth.
And blonde hair I want to wrap around my fist.
I try to keep a tight rein on my untamed need.
But I want to have her. Taste her. Mark her as mine.
I have to be Molly’s first. And her last.
But can a gruff cowboy like me tame the queen of manicures and designer bags?
One things for certain…
When danger threatens Molly and our unborn baby…
I vow to prove the love in my rugged heart.
This is a standalone best friend’s dad, older man, cowboy romance and a part of my Rainbow Canyon Cowboys series. Each book can be read as a standalone. Transport yourself into the charming family ranch in Texas, as we follow five rugged cowboys in their quests to find lasting love.

I was lucky enough to get a copy of this book through BookSprout and I voluntarily chose to review it. I loved this book. I think this book was well written and it had some awesome characters. K.C. Crowne did a great job with this book. I do encourage everyone to get this book. I also look forward to reading the secondary characters stories, brother’s and sister to Silas.
Silas met Molly when his son Christopher brought her home as his fake girlfriend. There was instant attraction even with the age difference. There are secrets that will be revealed and lots of passion for these two. This story is full of wonderful characters in this well written story line. A great series!
Enjoyed reading
I was hooked from the beginning. The book read easily and the characters were fun… most of the time. Molly is introduced as Christopher’s gf but she’s acting as his beard while he keeps a secret that isn’t exactly a secret. There are cute and funny moments throughout, along with some sad ones. It was an enjoyable read and I look forward to the next in the series.
Great book that tackles sensitive issues between a father and son as well as between two best friends.
The book was well written and the characters were well crafted.
This is a fun, hot, sexy read with some drama to keep you hooked

Older cowboy falls for son’s best-friend.
Silas was in the Army for awhile. A very short relationship ends up with an unexpected baby. He is never made aware of his son until he’s a young boy and then the mother doesn’t want Christopher getting confused of the guy in her life.
Silas then comes into custody of Christopher after she dies unexpectedly. Christopher’s life is dramatically changed afterward. He grew up in NYC and Silas’s life is in Texas. Since he was moved to a new life their relationship suffers greatly. A son that hates where he was moved to and living with the man who is his father.
Silas tries to build a relationship with his son but doesn’t know what to do to get him to love Texas so that he can at some point take over the family ranch. Christopher loves NYC and has lived there with his best friend Molly. They are two peas in a pod. She knows everything about Christopher, especially what he is hiding from his family. Though he doesn’t know that they all are aware of his life style.
Molly tries to pass off as Christopher’s girlfriend when they make a trip to visit his family. Molly sees a picture of Silas and even though he is twenty years older than her, she is very attracted to him. Little does she know that when Silas meets her upon their arrival, he is very attracted to her. He is aware that she isn’t his son’s girlfriend even though they are trying to get the family to believe it.
Things start happening between Silas and Molly and it ends up with a surprise which she knows she has to make Silas aware of. With the surprise and what happened between Molly and Silas, she knows that the friendship with Christopher is at risk.
All the characters are great and the story is well written. Quite a bit of drama, the building of relationships and the unknown along with the heat between Silas and Molly.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the Rainbow Canyon Cowboy Series books.
Surly, silver-tongued Silas
Taboo Cowboy: A Secret Baby Ranch Western Romance (Rainbow Canyon Cowboys Book 2) by K.C. Crowne is a well written western cowboy romance. I adore these Walker Cowboys! Rough around the edges, gruff and growly, yet sweet and tender! Silas is the oldest of the Walker bunch and he is also the surliest of the bunch. He’s no match for Molly despite how they try to deny and avoid their magnetic pull to one another.
Overall, a fun read with an amazing setting, intriguing plot and wonderful characters for a fantastic HEA.
Molly and Christopher have been friends since they started college. So when he asks her to go back home to his Family’s ranch in Texas and pretend to be his girlfriend she agrees even though she knows he isn’t interested in her. Silas knows the minute he sees Molly that Christopher isn’t interested in her and has no idea why he is playing this game. When Silas learns that Molly hasn’t ridden a horse before he offers to teach her. Molly didn’t expect to be on the same horse as him. Sparks fly between them and soon they give into temptation. Molly feels awful because she knows Christopher won’t be happy about her being with his father. What will Christopher do when he finds out about them? Will Molly relocate to give Silas a chance as a family?
This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter and leave you wanting more with the last one. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

The First Walker brother finds love
All Silas wants is to get to know his 25 year old son Christopher, the son he didn’t know he had until he was ten years old. But it’s been tough for the cowboy, he’s not used to showing his emotions. He’s sure that Christopher is gay, so he’s surprised when Christopher shows up at their family ranch with a girlfriend. A gorgeous girlfriend.
All Molly wants to do is help out her best friend Christopher. He’s going home and is afraid to tell his family that he’s gay so she goes to act as his beard. She never expects to find his father so attractive. Now what’s she going to do?
Age is a state of mind!
After agreeing to help Christopher by pretending to be his girlfriend when he visits home, Molly finds herself in a quandary when she meets his father, Silas. Oops, the off the charts mutual attraction gets the better of them, and they succumb. Two months later she has a big surprise and realizes she can’t keep her predicament secret, especially from him. Ms. Crowne shows her writing prowess by realistically resolving the quandaries Molly and Silas are facing. Christopher is somewhat annoying, but his attitude toward his family is understandable.

i had read the prequel to this series and enjoyed it alot. i wasnt sure how this story would play out, but it was a surprise to read. the father and son relationship was tested at best but thrown into the wind when christopher’s best friend molly gets caught up in the cowboy way of way of life and has to make a few new life choices when it comes to her best friend and his father. silas is big and rough, but seems to easy into a softer side when it comes to molly. great read.

Amazing job Crowne, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
An enjoyable age gap romance read. I love cowboy reads and add a mature, hot, alpha character like Silas and an innocent woman who helps her best friend like Molly and we get sizzling chemistry that heats up as their story unfolds. A good storyline and a HEA made this an enjoyable addition to a delicious series. Cant wait for the next book!
I must admit that while I thought that this was an OK read, I just wasn’t feeling it. To start, I am a self-proclaimed forbidden romance junkie, so the title and blurb for this book captured my attention and interest. However, I found this book hard to get into and for the most part I found the characters unlikable. Of the characters I liked Silas the most. I found his desire to not parent like his father but his propensity to fall into the trap of what was familiar to him extremely realistic and relatable. At heart he seemed like a decent guy, who had made some mistakes and although he wanted to make things better he just didn’t know how. As for Molly, I thought that she was incredibly immature. Now I know your thinking the blurb says: “She’s too young” and yes, there is a good age-gap between her and Silas but in my estimation she should have been at least 26 or 27 and lived in NYC. I could by her sexual inexperience but she really shouldn’t have been so clueless. On top of that I don’t even want to talk about her careless, reckless and quite frankly in my opinion dumb actions toward the end of the book. That situation was the straw that broke the camel’s back as far as she was concerned. And last we have Christopher, Silas’ son. He played such a huge part in this story that I feel it is impossible not to include him. Again, for his age, that should be in the same range as Molly, he came across as childish, spoilt and exceedingly self-centered. So yeah, I found it very difficult to care about or root for these characters. I thought the story was alright and while there was an occasional flare of sparks they mostly just fizzled out. I am posting a candid, volitional review.
I liked the different spin on older man younger woman trope. I don’t read books with that trope. I took a chance on it because I had already ready the first book in the series and I wanted to find out Silas story. I really liked that the heroine wasn’t a barely legal adult. In my opinion the age difference between a 19, 20, or 21 year old girl and a grown man is creepy. Anyways, the plot was interesting and the character were too, I look forward to the next book in the series. Until next time y’all happy reading.

“Molly is too young. Too innocent. And she’s pretending to be my son’s girlfriend. It’s a real shame how her sweet curves challenge this cowboy’s code.” Loved this story.
