SYLER MCKNIGHT is a stand alone from NYT and USA Today Bestselling author Cora Brent.Small town quirkinessEnemies-to-Lovers angstA sarcastic flannel-shirt-wearing anti-heroTons of madcap holiday fun and all the happily ever afters!Maybe there’s one of us in every family. The guy who scorns all the rules. The guy who shuns expectations. The guy most commonly known as the ultimate villain in a … expectations.
The guy most commonly known as the ultimate villain in a cultish self help movement.
On the other hand, perhaps we’re not as common as I thought.
But so what if I’m never anyone’s hero?
At least I’m a good brother. That is the one thing I manage to get right. So when my big sister is abandoned by her lousy cheating husband, leaving her and her four kids alone a week before Christmas, I don’t hesitate to head home.
To my surprise, I’m not the only one who shows up.
Katrina has always been my sister’s best friend. She’s headstrong and hot. She’s neurotic and sexy. She belts out old power ballads with horrible, tuneless abandon and her hair always smells like vanilla cookie batter.
We have a long history of being at odds and she’s never appreciated my natural talent for getting under her skin.
And then there was the night we accidentally hooked up.
There might have been an unplanned midnight encounter.
Combined with antique furniture abuse.
Along with a creative application of lemon buttercream.
It’s kind of a forbidden topic.
Now, nearly a decade later, it’s possible I’m still obsessing over that memory.
Katrina never knew that back in the day she was the one girl who really got to me.
In the spirit of the holidays I’ve decided it’s time to settle the score.
She already thinks I’m not one of the good guys.
In fact she hates my guts.
But she realizes I’ve got something she wants for Christmas.
All she has to do is swallow her high maintenance pride and ask nicely.
I can guarantee she’ll get more than she ever bargained for…
Author note: Hope you’ll take a chance on this screwball romantic holiday tale featuring enemies-to-lovers hijinks, a high stakes cookie exchange, laugh out loud banter, and plenty of heat for those cold winter nights!

**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
They say you can’t go home again but in this sweet, sassy, sexy book you can go home again. Not only do you get to go home again but you get second chances at both love and family.
Thia is a feel good story for the holidays. Just when you think your world falls apart you have the help of family and unexpected love to set your world right. At least in the literary world. But who knows, miracles happen and everything comes back around. So, sit back with a cup of hot chocolate and be prepared to be left with a smile on your face and warmth in your heart. I don’t think the Grinch could be mean Annika and her family, especially Danielle. A great Christmas read.
I literally read this book twice before posting my review; it was that amazing. If you are looking for a fun, enemies to lovers/ friends romance then this should top your list for 2020. Once you start reading you definitely won’t be able to put this book down. Fantastic read and highly recommended.
“How much time had we wasted being at odds with each other? On the other hand, maybe that time wasn’t wasted after all. Maybe it was exactly what we needed to get us here. I should be grateful for the journey, grateful it wasn’t easy. That made it all the more worthwhile.”
I liked that the two main characters had some issues in their professional lives and that not everything was perfect. I also liked that there was little angst – just entertaining back & forth with two people that mis-understood each other!
I really enjoyed this super cute holiday romance!!! Syler and Katrina have a history and it isn’t a very good one. They shared one memorable night together but in the light of the next day, it wasn’t what it had seemed. They do their level best to stay away from each other until they are reunited years later when Syler’s sister needs them both. Sparks fly to say the least some hate filled some lust filled lol. Tension is definitely in the air but so is the chemistry…Katrina is doing her level best to fight it but she can’t deny there is something about Syler that calls to her. This was such a great story one that I would recommend to all who enjoys an enemies to lovers….one that I will definitely reread again. Well done!!!
Katrina is suspended from her sports presenting job after she mistakenly let’s a few truths become common knowledge about a much loved sportsman. She gets a call from her best friend Gemma who’s husband has just left her for the principal of the local small town high school.Knowing this is just the excuse she needs Katrina heads back to Maple springs and finds herself face to face with Gemma’s younger brother Syler. 10 years ago they hooked up and Katrina is still upset by the way Syler treated her the next morning.
Enemies and friends don’t mix, or do they?
A laugh out loud story with Brilliant characters and lots of entertainment along the way.
Syler McKnight is a sweet holiday romance with a side of enemies to lovers with a heaping of best friend’s younger brother. This is a slow burn that will keep you warm on a cold winters night. A story of buried feelings, misunderstandings and packed with so much holiday cheer. Syler is a man who gets himself into trouble when he lets his mouth run away before he thinks, however he has a heart of gold and when he loves he loves with his whole heart. Katrina and Syler are two people on a path of realizations and finally complete happiness. If you want a story that will warm your heart, steam up your kindle and have you wishing for a white Christmas, then look no further.

Syler takes the cake with his smart mouth great looking uncle self. you can’t help but fall into his corner to get his one true love to fall for him. I loved every word. Once I opened my kindle and set to page one I couldn’t put it down. Loved having Syler join me with my morning coffee.
Holy smokes Cora did it again with another Amazing book. I am such a huge fan of cora and love her books so much. This book did not disappoint me either as it was a fantastic enemies to lover books. Both Skylar and Katrina were going through some rough times but when his sister is left devastated they both came back to help her out but what happened in the past could it stay there? This book was such a great story and will have you hooked from page one until the end of it and damn if I dont want more from them. I absolutely love both characters and their snarkiness with each other as well as the pull of the connection to each other and wowsa let’s not forget the smoking hot sex scenes. Thank you Cora on another fantastic book.
A MUST read enemies-to-lovers romance…..
Bestfriends younger brother…..
Holiday romance PERFECTION…..
A 5-Star read filled with witty banter, explosive chemistry, steamy romance and two people who absolutely live to drive the other crazy. Syler and Katrina were EVERYTHING!!! I was so enamoured with their story I tried to savor page after page not wanting this book to end. These two have history together and not one they willingly acknowledge; however, after a situation brings them back together they have no choice than to finally acknowledge their feelings. This was one emotional journey for all characters involved and a book that I highly recommend!
This small town was so crazy, I didn’t want to leave!! I savored every second of Syler and Katrina’s story.
I love enemies to lovers because the fire and passion is always off the charts. I loved the banter between these two. It was like they couldn’t help but get their digs in, even when they weren’t fighting the attraction they felt for each other.
I loved all of the characters in this book, well save a couple. This book was the perfect blend of holiday magic and funny antics. I can’t wait to visit Mple Springs again.
Once again this author gives us Readers just what we need , a funny enemies to lovers story that is perfect for the holidays.
Syler and Katrina are the perfect couple to make you love the season of Forgiveness and fall in love.
Syler McKnight by Cora Brent is the story of Katrina and Syler.
Katrina is Syler’s sister best friend so they know each other and even had a hot encounter at a wedding but it ended up making them have more distance between them. Now years Syler is return to help his sister after she has been left stranded by her husband. Unknown to him Katrina has dropped everything too to come be with her to help console her. Of course sparing starts between the two along with the sparks flying hot. But this time they may not be able to walk away from their feelings like they did the first time.
Enjoyed their story.
Sitting by fire, in my cosy sock slippers and sipping on hot chocolate was the perfect way to experience Syler McKnight. This book is perfectly charming, snort out loud funny, hot in all the right places and just full of Christmas cheer. I am in love with Syler and Katrina.
Cora Brent has once again delivered the perfect amount of each ingredient needed to create this holiday masterpiece. A must read to enjoy over the holiday.
Highly recommended!
I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
This book was absolutely awesome. It is a stand alone and I am sorta sad about that because I fell hard for every character and I want to visit again.
This is a holiday romance in a small town in New York State. Its a snowy and White Christmas and mom of 4 Gemma has been abandoned by her husband of ten years for the ex school principal who he had an affair with.
She calls her favorite younger brother and bestie and they both come home to help her out in this bad time for her. The bestie is a Katerina and the brother is Sylar and they have a very adversial relationship.
But they also secretly had a one night stand on the night of Gemmas wedding and it did not end well and since them they fight and verbally spar to fight their lust for each other. So the fun begins when they both arrive at Gemmas and help her face her future while also facing each other and their past as well.
This was a sweet, HOT, and fun story about finding love and about being there for your friends and family, It is the perfect holiday story and one I know I will re-read again.
Oh Cora did an absolutely amazing job with this book!
I absolutely the chemistry between St and Kat-reeena!
Syler McKnight is a wonderfull Christmas romance. This enemies to lovers book will have you wanting more from this pair and all the side characters. Syler is her best friends little brother and a mistake 10 years prior has Katrina wanting more. After getting a call Katrina decides she going back home to help her best friend after her husband left her and guess who happens to have the same idea. This book is a light hearted with a whole lot of steam.
This a complete new standalone, unrelated to any previous works.
Ms. Brent delivered the exact book I needed this holiday season. It is filled with witty banter, a bit of angst, steamy scenes, a small town and plenty of heartfelt moments.
Syler and Katrina have this love/hate relationship and quite a complicated past. When we first meet these two, they both are running from their lives and situations. It is clear that neither of them has settled into life at this point. The push and pull between the characters was sometimes hilarious and oftentimes telling.
Ms. Brent has such a knack for writing all her characters three-dimensionally; even her side characters are so well written. I love the small complexities that Ms. Brent adds to her characters. You simply feel so engaged with the story right from the start. This book was a very quick and enjoyable read. I truly hope that Ms. Brent will revisit these characters as I am dying to see what happens next with most of the characters!
This is a book that I had complicated feelings about. I will be honest and say that when I started this book I found both Syler and Katrina to be kind of annoying and a bit unlikable. However, as the story unfolded and I really get to know these characters my feelings grew and changed. Syler went from juvenile, jaded, jokester to a good guy with a surprisingly vulnerable heart and Katrina went from standoffish and judgmental to incredibly relatable. In the end I was so in love with these characters. Their journey to a HEA was long, difficult and filled with some painful moments because of anger and misunderstandings. I highly recommend this book. Katrina and Syler’s romance is sure to touch your heart as these two finally get the HEA they certainly earned and richly deserve. This book has an excellent cast of secondary characters and I myself would love to see Syler’s sister and brother and Katrina’s brother get their own books.
