Great box set half way thru set of eight and great reading so far.
I am on the second book of the Sydney Rye series and find them to be intense and gripping. It is hard to put it down I want to know who the bad guys are and love the loyalty Blue shows to Sydney. She saved him and now he is repaying her over and over again. Hate seeing Blue get injured but that is what a really well trained loyal dog will do to protect their master when they are treated well. Someone asked me once what would my dog at the time, a very large Doberman, would do if he hit me. I said I don’t know no one has ever tried. Do you want to try? He said no I’m sure knowing that it probably would not turn out well for him. It’s just what a good dog does for the people they love. Growing up we had a small terrier who would try to bite me when my brothers would grab my hand and hit themselves with it. Thats what a good dog does protects its owners and loved ones from harm.
This was a great read, good character and plot development, fast paced and keeps the reader wanting more.
If you read one book you will want to read them all, probably won’t appeal to most men. Many about human trafficking and unjust to women suppressed by religious doctrine as interpreted by men. She has a huge dog named Blue who is with her throughout the series. She starts out as a women going nowhere, just trying to make a living has issues with bosses, she gets a dog walking gig and from then on the excitement begins. There is violence, human interest, a smudge on of romance, a little naughtiness, and lots of fascinating situations. I could hardly put thes books down. If have an open mind and like
I liked the entire series. After I finished one book I could hardly wait to read the next.
I enjoy the Sydney Rye series. There are many interesting an unusual characters. Such a strong female lead character.
I wanted more.
Looking forward to continuing series soon
Loved this series. Can’t wait to read the next 3
Loved the series, the main character, her relationships, the plots, the action, the writing style. Well-written, fun, action packed. Yes, some of it is predictable and hard to believe, but it all adds up to a fun and satisfying read.
I bought these in sets 1-3 and another set of the next in the series. Great idea, the stories flow and make a great batch of reads
I really enjoyed these books, I love when a book transfers me to another world. I couldn’t quit reading!
Fighter all the way.
I loved these so much I bought the entire series! Highly recommend.
I’ve only read the first book in the series but I think it’s going to be a good one
I Joy/Sydney and Blue. All the other characters are awesome. There’s plenty of action. Great reads
Good read!
I always enjoy a kick-butt female lead.
I was pleasantly surprised at the twists and uniqueness of the plots. The main characters were simply folks who had problems but handled them in some unpleasant but understandable ways. I truly could not put these down and read way more hours than I normally would. I hope to find more from this author with the same style and writing.
I originally LOVED the character – thought she was a unique character, ditzy until she wasn’t. I thought the story was intriguing. I LOVED BLUE…BEST PART OF THE ENTIRE SERIES…is Blue.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE –
The author extorts you to buy every book. NO BOOK ENDS – literally continues to the next book, no tie up of anything at all. I DO NOT LIKE FEELING FORCED TO BUY A BOOK. An author should have enough faith in their work to KNOW we will buy more. It feels like she wrote one HUGE BOOK and then chopped them into smaller books to make money. There are barely 200 pages to most books.
The continually repeating things from book to book WHY- you are forcing someone to read the next book so why have to repeat it all, that is not done because who comes into a series at say book 5 – not any readers I know.
Was good until it started to be VERY ridiculous. Her description of Blue is his head is at her waist SO HUGE DOG…looks like a wolf body, 1 blue (hence name) 1 brown eye, face of a collie. SO IF YOU ARE HIDING OUT OR TRYING TO NOT BE THERE – hmmmmmm why look for HER just look for the dog. Took the plausibility of the story totally away.
I like a good strong heroine in a book, BUT TO HAVE TO SLEEP WITH EVERYONE, too over the top for me. I can take the “f” bomb here and there but the gratuitous sex was just not needed in the story of a strong woman – it was too much like well if men can do it type thing. YOU CAN BE STRONG AND HAVE FRIENDS without having to screw them.
I bought the 8 book package deal – so I had them I will read them, very few authors do I stop when I have paid for them. BUT if my daughter had not surprised me with the next set, I would not have read any more and gone WHO CARES WHAT HAPPENS because this series makes me feel like it will be like a NEVER ENDING – just keep shelling out 5 bucks for another 200 pages of poorly edited material that LEAVES YOU HANGING EVERY TIME.
AND to have so many men in love with her, again, too much.
