I really love this series. Mirzy and her antics never fail to please. Whilst on a date (finally) with the local hunky sheriff at the local Renaissance Faire, she witnesses a very public murder in the jousting arena. In spite of the sheriff’s disapproval, she takes a job at the faire to try and work out , not only who, but how the murder was committed.
As the seventh book in this series, I can honestly say that each book just gets better and better. The series revolves around Mitzy, her grandmother, and Silas. Mitzy is definitely getting used to being rich and not worrying where her next meal will come from. As an orphan at age 11, she had a tough life going from foster home to foster home. Her grandmother is a total hoot, a ghost who refuses to leave life behind and cross over. Silas is both their lawyer and a powerful alchemist.
This story is about the local renaissance faire. The world building is great and you feel like you are part of the faire. However, the death of the Lord puts a damper on the fun. Can Mitzy solve who is behind the shenanigans or will she just smell like pickles. Enjoy the fun and frivolity of this story and this series, you will be glad you did.
Another great fun Mitzi Moon sorry. 4.5 stars for me. I feel these just keep getting better and better and I fall more in love with the town and characters (when can I go visit this place?).
From the first page, I was happily back in Pin Cherry Harbor – giggling at Mitzy’s mishaps as she goes on a date to the Renaissance Faire with Erick. Of course, as happens when Mitzy is around, there is a murder.
This time the victim is killed during a joust with hundreds of witnesses. Unfortunately, all they know is that the Lord Mayor was killed by the Black Knight. Who was the Black Knight? Why was the Lord Mayor targeted? Will Mitzy’s special skills lead to the killer in time?
All of my favorite characters have featured roles in this story. Of course, there is plenty of Silas, Grams, and Pyewacket. There is also much more of Twiggy and Erick, which is fantastic!
The Mitzy Moon series is by far my favorite cozy mystery series. Every book is fun, fast-paced, has great characters, and an intriguing mystery!
Mark down another fun book to read for this author. Mitzy and the hunky sheriff Erick go to a Renaissance Faire where a man is killed in front of many witnesses but who really was behind the murder?? A person from Mitzy’s past comes back. And, of course, Ghostma puts in her two-cents worth of advice. Mitzy is still her adorable, snarky self.
This is the seventh book in this series, but I feel like it can be read as a standalone. The author does an excellent job of providing enough backstory so you the reader isn’t lost, but not too much where you feel it is overkill.
The main character, Mitzy, is still up to her usual antics of getting herself into some problematic and dangerous situations, but she always manages to provide humor and insight. I am enjoying this series because Mitzy is continuously growing as a person and in her abilities. This book was also the first book where we see Mitzy and now boyfriend, Sheriff Harper, work as a team purposefully. I enjoyed that dynamic, and it brought some interesting banter along with it. I have a feeling their relationship will get stronger and deeper the more Mitzy trusts Eric and allows him to finally see what she is truly capable of, but that might be a while.
I am excited to see what is in store for Mitzy and her friends. I think these stories are fun and quick reads, which I enjoy. I love the humor and unique storylines throughout the series. If you are looking for something that grabs your attention from beginning to end, that progresses and continues to feel fresh in each book, and also provides comedic relief, then the Mizy Moon series is something you should check out.
Set in a s simple small town, this mystery murder keeps a smile and a smirk on your face while these characters weave their way through solving a crime. Communicating with supposed familiars, magical mood rings, uncanny ( and somewhat untimely) psychic visions, spectral relatives and alchemist barristers..throw them all together and you get a really entertaining tale that adds a bit of sunshine to a gloomy day. A great read that is easy to recommend. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
As things start to get serious for Mitzy and “sherriff too hot to handle”, a murder at a renaissance fair leaves a bitter taste in the sherriff’s mouth as the prime suspect is someone he knows all too well. Will Mitzy prove that this man is a murderer? Or is something more sinister afoot?
Trixie Silvertale is the best! If you haven’t heard of her I urge you to pick up this book today. You won’t regret it and you will find out for yourself why she her books are so popular with the reading public! When you finish this book you will want to go back and start this series from the beginning to read the previous books to find out what you have missed!
With a cast of characters including Mitzy Moon, Ghost Grams, Pyewacket, Sheriff Harper, Twiggy, Odell, Silas the list goes on and on. Books are an escape and boy do we need that now with the pandemic and now what is happening in America this past week which is excused by one political party and the media they represent. There is something very wrong when rioters, looters, arsonists are glorified by them and Hollywood as the “good” guys!
This series leaves you eagerly looking forward to the next one so you can return to Pin Cherry Harbor and see what Mitzy gets involved in next! These characters are my friends and it’s a joy to read this series that makes me (and you when you read this book) feel good while you’re reading it and when you’ve finished it!
Bravo Trixie for continuing to deliver such a wonderful series that makes the characters come alive!
This is the best book yet in this series. I love the progress between Eric and Mitzy. Mitzy is learning how to use her powers more to help Eric. I can’t wait to read the next book. They just keep getting better and better.
Grab your swords and join Mitzy at the Ren Faire! What could be more fun than donning your garb and attending a Renaissance Faire? Going with Mitzy Moon!
Sheriff Erick invites Mitzy to the Ren Faire. Unfortunately where Mitzy goes, murder often follows. When the Lord Mayor dies during a joust, is it just a terrible accident or something much worse?
Mitzy goes undercover for clues while the sheriff conducts a more traditional investigation. Now that the two are officially dating it is even easier to collaborate. Can they find the culprit before anyone else falls?
Mitzy doesn’t know what to think about the Renaissance fair. However, Sheriff Harper’s excitement about the jousting tournament has Mitzy intrigued. When the event turns deadly Mitzy jumps into the investigation and completely submerges herself in the Renaissance fair life to find the killer.
This is my favorite in the series so far. The story is so much fun. The setting of the Ren Fair made for a terrific reading experience. The characters are entertaining, full of snark and personality. The mystery kept me guessing with its twists and turns.
I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing out Mitzy’s personality. She was a pleasant voice that is enjoyable to listen too.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way have I been influenced by anyone.
Swords and Fallen Lords is the seventh book in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries series by Trixie Silvertale —an addictive paranormal cozy mystery. I started in the middle of the series, but quickly went back to the beginning to get in on even more fun! Mitzie is young, engaging and smart; the rest of the characters blend with each other perfectly–a nod to Ms. Silvertale’s writing skill.
This setting is a Renaissance Faire with swords, jousting, knights, an executioner, and a murder. Mitzie must be on her game as she follows the twisty turns of this mystery. I also love the fast pace and the dash of romance, you will enjoy this wonderful audiobook! I listened in one day—I could not put it down.
Thank you to Sittin’ on a Goldmine Productions for granting me an ALC of this book. All my opinions are my own. I review books that I enjoy so that friends and followers can enjoy them, too.
I absolutely love listening to this series! A cozy mystery with a snarky, quick witted female lead with a twist of paranormal assistance! A ghost, a talented cat, an intelligent mentor and a hot sheriff are just the tip of the ice berg of cast members that surround our lovable Mitzy Moon! Add in excellent plotting with multiple suspects to investigate and you’ll be guessing until the end who the guilty party is. Lots of laughter is always an added bonus and this book is definitely full of that! If you haven’t started the series yet, you really should as you are missing out on loads of fun! The narrator does an outstanding job of bringing our favorite characters to life as well so I definitely would put this series on your must listen list soon!
It Fun going to the Renaissance Faire with Mitzy Moon , though she wasn’t expecting to sleuth during the festival, a murder occurred with a very historical sword. Mitzy is still learning her skills and at times spews some fun facts much to her friend’s surprise. Always fun journey with these characters’!
This review is for the audio book.
The pen is mighter than the sword, well it is when it’s a good book and that is exactly what this Mitzy Moon mystery is. I loved it.
This is book seven in what is quickly turning into a must read or listen to series. Don’t worry if you have only just joined the series because the author gives you enough background information on the characters, that it is easy to pick what is going on and enjoy the fun. The mystery was interesting and I liked the unusual setting for the murder to take place, it was easy to imagine as the author weaves a clever and colourful plot. But it was the characters that I really like in this series. Mitzy is such a great main character and is willing to do anything to catch a killer. The addition of Ghost-ma and the cat add a fun humours side to the story, as Mitzy tries to keep her abilities a secret from her boyfriend. I can’t wait for the next book.
Mitzy never thought attending a renaissance faire could be so entertaining but she is soon swept up in her boyfriends enthusiasm. That is until a jousting match turns deadly and one of the knights is killed. While her boyfriend is busy questioning the squires and hoping to make an arrest, Mitzy is granted an audience with the queen and is hired on as staff. With her undercover job can Mitzy find some vital evidence that will point them at the killer? She soon learns that the sword is no ordinary sword and with it’s checkered past, could it be worth killing over?
I really like the narrator. She uses her voice well to make the story exciting and entertaining.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Mitzy doesn’t always get her fashion advice from ghostma, sometimes she has to go off script & wear a formal gown & glitzy mask…while she works in a pickle booth. Sheriff easy-on-the-eyes & Mitzi are at a renaissance faire when suddenly a prop is more that just a prop. The investigation starts with He black knight to a blacksmith then the Lorde. Someone is responsible for a death & with the help of he mood ring she’s going to solve it.
This is the 7th book in the Mitzy Moon Mystery series, and you don’t have to read all the books in order, but I’ve enjoyed them and definitely recommend them if you love cozy mysteries. This time Mitzy and Sheriff Erick are finally on a date, and they are attempting to enjoy themselves at the Ren Faire. While watching the jousting though, the unthinkable happens and someone is killed. That someone is the Lord Mayor and part owner of the Ren Faire. Sheriff Erick goes into work mode and Mitzy goes into mystery solving mode. Going undercover at the Faire will be a snap for Mitzy once she gets permission from the Queen. Once she secures a position there, she starts investigating some of the suspects and lets her senses lead her to the killer.
I’ve truly been enjoying this series and have been reading a couple of the books per day on top of working. I can’t stop reading them. They’re like Lay’s Potato Chips, you can’t stop with one, and each one is better than the last. I really don’t want this series to end!!

Mitzy Moon is at the Renaissance Faire with Erick Harper when a joust turns deadly. But there’s more to this murder than meets the eye. Mitzy decides to go undercover to help her handsome sheriff find clues.
I’ve been binge reading this series in order to catch up since I received ARCs of books nine and eleven and I love it. Each book keeps my interest going and the author keeps the books fresh so each one is fun to read. I was drawn in from the beginning and kept hooked until the end. Well-written with wonderful characters, the book’s a quick, fun read which has twists and turns throughout. I’m looking forward to the next book and highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order for the most enjoyment and benefit.
Wow, what a great story. I LOVE all the things Mitzy gets into. She certainly has a way of figuring it out. All the characters in this book make me feel like I’m right there with them.
