This adventure finds Mitzy and the gang navigating the renaissance faire in search of a killer. There are so many interesting characters that we get to meet, and the author really captures the feel of the faire. Also, Erick on a horse for jousting! Yes!!!
An old foe is once again plaguing the town and Mitzy and the sheriff have their hands full trying to stop them. I of course am always overjoyed when Mitzy and Erick make progress in their relationship. He is just the sweetest! If you’re not reading this series, you should be.
Another fabulous installment in the life and times of Mitzy Moon! Silvertale has done it again with Book Seven. The inhabitants of Pin Cherry are by now old friends that it is a joy to reconnect with. Silvertale is outstanding at weaving tales that surprise and delight while still mystifying; this one was over far too soon. There is never a dull moment in Mitzy’s new life in Pin Cherry Harbor, I can’t put it down, wow I didn’t see that coming, page turner that will keep you up late reading and laughing out loud! I love these books and cannot wait for the next one to come out. Each one builds on the previous ones but can be read as standalone book.
Pan camera to sky and slowly lower to the heroine, zoom in the sound slowly coming up as the camera focuses in on Mitzy Moon her white hair almost glowing making her stand out from the crowd in the fayre.
This is how Mitzy sees the world, everything is a movie everything is looked at as the scene it could be. But she is proof that life is greater than fiction (yes I know it is not an autobiography give me a bit of credit!)
Now dating Sheriff to Hot to Handle and he has totally broken character! No longer keeping her at arms length the renaissance Fayre has brought out the little boy in him, and she is content to sit back and watch him watch the show, that is until, as is so often the case around Mitzy there is a murder (though this time she has a great alibi for Deputy Sheriff Paulson seeing as she was sitting watching the jousting happen with Eric. when the main suspect seems to be an old school friend of Eric’s with nothing to gain, Mitzy is determined to find out who’s at the bottom of the Lord Mayors murder, with the help of her alchemical master/ lawyer Silas, Ghost-Ma the caracal cat Pye Mitzy is going to get costume deep in pickles and help solve the case. Why was the Lord Mayor murdered, and just who is behind the villainous plot!
I truly cannot tell how Trixie Silvertale does it, but she truly outdone herself again, I know i know I say that every book review but only because it is true! I truly look forward to each book, and read it as slowly as I can and savour every drop. I have even started looking at life like a movie a little myself, (certainly feels like one at the moment!)
Do not deny yourself Mitzy Moon, everyone needs a little Mitzy in their life!
I’m so in love with this series! And ohhhh Lord Erick, Lady Mizithra, and Queen Twiggy Elizabeth!!! Such fun but every time I hear Rory Bombay you know trouble can’t be far behind! I love the Renaissance Faires so this was a very special read for me! Thank you Trixie Silvertale for creating them and keeping them going!!
I really loved this book and series. Mitzy and Sheriff too hot to handle are going to the Ren faire on a date. She had no idea he was so into it. Being her first time his little boy enthusiasm made her want to enjoy it and learn more. During the jousting tournament the Lord Mayor is murdered in front of a huge crowd! Mitzy, of course, goes undercover selling pickles to find out about everyone in this tight lipped community! The problem is the case makes no sense! Next thing we know there is a surprise ending.
I love the residents of Pin Cherry Harbor. I love how Mitzy is changing and growing now that she’s getting closer to her ghostma! I real enjoy her and Erich as a couple. I did miss her dad not being in this book. I love the complicated mysteries that you can’t solve in the first five minutes! I love the humor and the close relationships of the characters! I was excited to “see” Silas’ house. It was just as I expected it to be! I highly recommend this book! Now I have to anxiously wait for the next book to come out!
This seventh book in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries Series by Trixie Silvertale was a fun, and entertaining trip through the world of renaissance faire as Mitzy, Pyewacket, and Ghost-ma attempt to use the paranormal world to help Sheriff Erick, now boyfriend, once again solve a murder mystery. The reader is once again left with the question of whether they can solve the mystery before the author reveals it to them which makes all of the books in this series so enjoyable to read. The light-hearted tone of writing as well as the fun often made at the expense of Mitzy makes this a fast read from start to finish. I am eagerly anticipating book eight in the series. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Hidden Gems Books.
Mitzy and Sheriff Erick have a date to Ren Faire. Too bad the Lord Mayor is killed. Mitzy takes a job to snoop at the Ren Faire. Certain faire articles seem to have a little magic attached. Will the mystery be solved by the end of the week?
Mitzy is developing and trusting her powers. Erick is learning to trust her. And the books keep getting better.
Like the rest of this series, I loved reading this book. Mitzy and Erick working together is great. I feel like his character is more accepting of Mitzy and love how they are getting along. There wasn’t that as much interaction with ghostma this time but we did get to see another side of Silas. I loved him being so involved with this story but missed ghostma and Pyewacket a bit. Hopefully they’ll be more of them next time. I can’t wait for book 8.
We’re going to a Renaissance Faire! Oh my goodness how excited I was to read this book. I love Mitzy, Ghost-ma, Sheriff Eric, Twiggy, Silas, Odell and Pyewacket. I don’t know how the author does it but each book has something interesting about one or more of these characters that just keeps everything fresh. In this one we see Twiggy play a very fun role. We also see a bit more of the relationship between Mitzy and Eric.
I adore the Renaissance Faires. If you haven’t been to one, you may find yourself wanting to attend one after this. This year, with the Covid-19 Pandemic, the festival closest to me voted to close. It was another sad and frustrating occurrence in a year that seems to be overflowing with them. The author, with a wonderful expertise, brought the Faire to my home! I could picture everything easily. I haven’t worked at a festival but, for a short time in my younger years, I worked the carnival circuit. I think being a carny is much the same as working Renaissance Faires, except at RenFest you wear way cooler clothes and speak funny.
The mystery was entertaining as well as puzzling. I enjoyed learning about sugar glass. I love movies but did not know anything about sugar glass. I looked up a few videos. It is fascinating. I don’t want to go into the mystery or the role sugar glass plays.
I am giving this book five stars because it entertained me, educated me and kept me guessing. A winner all the way! I hope you choose to read it. I would recommend you read the series in the order written. For the mystery you could read it by itself but you would miss a lot in relationships and in Mitzy’s personal growth.
I received an advanced reader’s copy for review consideration. I voluntarily reviewed this book. My review is based entirely on my experience with this book.
