In this charming, sexy, and “laugh-out-loud” (USA Today) funny romantic comedy, an online dating ghostwriter’’s life gets hilariously complicated when she recognizes one of her clients’’ matches–her ex!–and finds herself forced to flirt with him again, on someone else’’s behalf… We switch. I bait. Let me help you snag a date. All through college, Blanche Carter was known as the love doctor … Blanche Carter was known as the love doctor in her sorority. Now she’’s parlayed her talent into a unique consulting business: she runs the online dating profiles of Washington D.C.’’s most eligible women.
Armed with a battalion of rules, Blanche expertly helps her clients optimize their profiles and ace that first date. But although she’‘ll happily message handsome strangers (and fend off dick pics) for other ladies, Blanche’’s most important rule is the one she has for herself: no relationships. She’’s seen too much heartbreak to believe in real love anymore.
When a former fling pops up among the matches for one of her favorite clients, Blanche gamely messages him on her behalf. Blanche is definitely over him, and this is how she’‘ll prove it. But if she doesn’‘t watch out, Blanche might end up not only screwing over a client–and possibly tanking her entire business–but breaking her rule about love as well . . .
Ricki Schultz’’s trademark irreverent humor and wry insight into the absurdities of modern dating are both outrageously funny and genuinely moving in her unforgettable new novel.

SWITCH and Bait Ricki Schultz is the story of Blanche Carter and her matching making site. Blanche has a way with finding other people mates even back in College she was known as the Love DR. Now she is running her business helping clients find there possibly happy ending. But the one things she does do her self is relationships so when a name pops up of someone she knows she goes forward with setting him up while trying to keep her feelings in the background.
Different type of story then what I usually read, but overall a good story.
This was my first time reading a book by this author. After reading the first chapter of this book I was hooked. The title, book cover and saying “We switch. I bait. Let me help you snag a date.” Intrigued me.
I really enjoyed reading this story from beginning to end. I loved the characters. Blanche, Henry, Gordon, Ansley, Isla and Graham. My least favorite character is Cliff.
The romantic/comedic banter between characters was fun and the family type friendships were a little emotional at times, and overall the story was a wonderful fun summer read.
Blanche Carter has always had a knack for helping others make a love connection, she enjoyed doing it so much that she decided to try her hand at making a living off of it, and so far it has been quite profitable. It brings her so much joy to pair people up and watch the fireworks happen, but with all her experience she has yet to create her own fireworks with someone, which really isn’t that concerning to her since she swore off relationships a while ago. She goes above and beyond for her clients, even if it means it means being a little traumatized by the occasional photo of someone sans their unmentionables, the way she looks at it, it’s all part of the job. But when she is sifting through male dates options for a new client and runs across a unforgettable man from her own list of past suitors, she has a hard time convincing herself that she is over him. And then before she realizes the gravity of her actions she begins to flirt with him via messaging… full well knowing this situation isn’t going to end well for all involved!
Switch and Bait is a comical little page-turner that is sure to have readers giggling throughout… Blanche is a hoot! This first time read left me dazzled, a mere two pages in and I found myself pulled right into Blanche’s world and completely at her mercy, the feisty matchmaker puts on one heck of a show!! She was brutally honest, determined, sarcastic, and I had a delightful time watching her surrender to her own rules and finally make a love connection of her own. If you are looking for a light and heartfelt read to settle down with this summer I highly suggest you pick this one up, Ms. Schultz’s well crafted story line and endearing characters are sure to treat you to a good time!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
