ARC review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Brighton and Remy skeenbauer and family are celebrating their daughters birthday, when a bad storm comes .after the storm they go checking on their neighbors and find Norah poisoned now their on the case to find out who did it .Awesome story
Well this is a nice addition that takes readers back to normal mystery hunting and sleuthing. The prophecy is back up in the air for the second series to tackle, though, since the main danger presented in this series is over. Also, this book takes place when Kinsley is one, so just forget the last bit of book ten because it hasn’t happened yet. But anyway, it is amazing how relatable the family issues are in this book. Norah reminds me of my mom, and many things Emma says hits close to home.
I do think this book isn’t necessary, however. It feels tacked on for whatever reason.
Issues:
1. Oh boy… Let’s take this a step at a time…
First off, this book states many times spring is early. Really early. There are even flowers, the windows get rolled down.
Well… lol… sorry, but the timeframes are massively off in this book. In the entire series.
Wedding is December 21st in book 9
*Six months later
Pregnancy revelation is around June 21st in book 9
*Seven months later
Kinsley is born around January 21st in book 9 (based on seven months as she comes early, and apparantly Brighton isn’t six months pregnant. Also, Amelda is clearly wrong about having a granchild sooner than expected because she waits thirteen months. Meri makes it known early on that a child will be born not long after the wedding, but Amelda seems to believe even sooner).
Kinsley’s birthday I guess could be in February. Maybe Brighton is one month along when she figures it out and Kinsley is born at eight months.
March is out of the question since that marks nine months.
Either way…
A thunderstorm in winter? Plus a flood? Maybe a blizzard and then a snow in, but not a super early spring. Although I have seen winter storms hit, melt away, and then a strange warmth spread across the state for a week.
2. Now we have an Amelda Skeenbauer and an Amelia Stackhouse. Can you say confusing.
3. Meri has two scenes. The birthday cake scene where he has one line and the cemetery scene where he protects workers from ghosts. That isn’t the full problem, though. Meri shows up at the cemetery unannounced. There is literally no point where he asks to go anywhere or he is invited anywhere or is even acknowledged. He appears out of nowhere.
4. Places where there should be a scene break, no scene break, or chapter split.
5. Typos, typos, and more typos. Seriously, get an editor… or at least use Word Read Aloud as you edit so you can hear what you are seeing. It is like you wrote this entire series without going over any of it even once.

This is another great cozy mystery in the Wicked Witches of Coventry series. With great quirky characters, magic in the air and a great mystery to solve. The storyline is filled with interesting suspects, great clues, surprises, unexpected twists, danger and suspense. I really enjoyed this book and the entire series.
I was devastated at the end of Baby Broom when I thought that I would never read read another book about the Witches of Coventry. Life was restored to me with this book. From the very beginning, the reader is taken on an adventure until the very end. I do feel as if this book was written to help us readers cope with the end of the series. For that I say Thank You. This book is a quick read and it does not disappoint.
