Love is the sweetest venom.
Lawrence
I told her I wanted her body and not her love.
I lied.
Ronan
I fell in love with a lie…
She was beauty and destruction.
Kissing her was a tender song.
Owning her body, a wild poem.
Loving her, my downfall.
But she was mine.
Or so I thought.
Blaire
One man offer me his love.
The other, the world.
I’m falling, falling, falling …
And there’s no end in … world.
I’m falling, falling, falling …
And there’s no end in sight.

I loved this soo much I can cry right now!!!
Mia Asher managed to have me hooked from the 1st page of the 1st book to the very last page of this 2nd book -totally not exaggerating- with 3 pages to go I was still unsure about the ending.
*pulling my hair wondering how this is going to end*
Crazy, Magnificent, Hot and So so good! The writing is beautiful. WOW! Did I just go on a very delicious and nerve wrecking ride? YES!
Swooning!! I won’t say his name because I don’t want to spoil for future readers BUT I’m beyond happy with the one !
Omg!!!! I have no words. Major book hang over. Blaire is such a complex character and the rollercoaster ride we go on with her while she learns about herself and what she wants out of life is amazing. By the end of SV she is a totally different person than she was is EV and most of this book. My heart ached for all three characters. I went from wanting her with Ronan, to Lawrence and then quite frankly by herself. Whether on purpose or not she destroyed both men. So much so that at times I didn’t recognize them. SV is told from all three characters POV’s and I could not see it being done any other way. If it was once again told just from Blaire’s POV it wouldn’t have had as much of an impact as it did. Once my tears started to flow they wouldn’t stop. SV might not have had an ending I was expecting but it was PERFECT for Blaire.
After reading Easy Virtue and with how it ended, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Sweet Venom and find out how Blaire’s story will end. Now I’m sitting here with a grin on my face and feeling damn great cause I just finished Sweet Venom. What can I say? Mia Asher nailed it. So freaking amazing. I read it in one day and when I was doing something besides reading my thoughts kept going back to Blaire and her two men.
Sweet Venom picks up right where Easy Virtue ended and the tension was intense. I couldn’t wait to get back with Blaire. She was still wrestling with her choice and her view of herself. Tried to shut her heart and emotions off and only deal with what her mind told her to do. Still her biggest struggle was fear and her past(childhood) but Blaire tried to do right by the people she came to care for. She tried to change herself and grow. By overcoming her fears. I loved that aspect of the story, which was Blaire’s journey to forgiveness and acceptance. Of herself, the people that hurt her and that she hurt. But to get there she had to share her heart with two amazing and totally opposite men.
Lawrence and Ronan were simply spectacular in their in own way. I adored them both because they were so opposite and yet the only thing they had in common was their all consuming love for Blaire. I enjoyed both of them when they were with Blaire and I could easily understand Blaire’s dilemma when it came to them. Mia Asher wrote them to perfection that I could envision Blaire with either of them, even though I had favorite of mine. When Blaire was together with Ronan or Lawrence there was so much heat, lust and love. Damn, Mia Asher can write some very sexy and erotic scenes. Besides that my emotions were all over the place. I was gasping, crying and cheering and loved every moment of it.
Sweet Venom was the perfect conclusion to Blaire’s journey. Asher’s writing was yet again spellbinding. The sensuality of the book worked exquisitely. All the twists and turns she threw in were messing with my mind. I had no idea how it would end and that was an exciting feeling. The characters, Blaire, Lawrence and Ronan were phenomenal. So flawed but redeemable. I loved all three POV’s. So damn good and mesmerizing. Sweet Venom has to be experienced. Simply flawless.
“I’m falling, falling, falling …And there’s no end in sight.” –Blair.
That was part of the synopsis for SWEETEST VENOM and I don’t think it could have been said any better. The entire time my heart felt like it was falling. Whether that was falling in love or falling in pain, I felt it ALL! I LOVED this story with my whole heart, even though Mia shattered it with her venomous words and actions at times between the characters, but I know that each and every word was needed for these characters to develop and heal. Reading the journey for Blair, Ronan, and Lawrence was INTENSE, to say the least. You know that saying, “People come into your life for a reason”? Well I believe Mia was showing us how, even though these characters tore each other apart at times, they were meant to come together and rebuild each other in a sense. Unfortunately, in doing so, there had to be some tears and verbal “blood shed” along the way on all accounts. And because of those extremely heart-rending lows in this book, it made for a turbulently powerful story and it made the happier moments that much more breath-taking.
Jealously…
Anger…
Betrayal…
Lies…
Deceit…
Revenge…
Love…
All those elements were in this book. Blair, Ronan and Lawrence’s story needs to be breathed in and experienced on your own, so I am not going to go into detail about the storyline in fear of giving away too much and spoiling it for future readers. Just know that their story is not an easy one and revolves around all those factors I listed above. Mia Asher makes you fall in love with each of these complicated and complex characters one page at a time and leaves you speechless and craving more in the end.
This book was about reconciling and most importantly forgiving because in order for these characters to finally move on and open themselves up to love from others and themselves, they had to conquer their own tribulations. Will anyone find happiness in the end? Read to find out!
The conclusion to this duet was well worth the sleepless nights and exhausting emotions it evoked. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants be left feeling…feeling raw from all the emotions it produces in you from page 1 to the final page.
“There’s no room for logic when the heart is involved. To love is to lose all sense of reason.” –Lawrence.
5 stars!
“You’re in the air I breathe, in the water I drink, and in every dream I dream.”
I was left some interesting impressions and thoughts after reading this work by Mia Asher. This was a well written, sexy and hot melodrama. The story does not rely so much on action and plot, but rather the internal musings and self discoveries of three central characters…Blaire, the emotionally damaged beauty filled with a mixture of self loathing and remorse struggling with her passionate nature and a lingering love for Ronan, the man from whom she ran. Ronan is burning with a lingering desire and need for Blaire, but he is also determined to extract revenge on her and the world she chose over him.
Then there is Lawrence, the suave and gorgeous billionaire who initially asks only for a transactional relationship with Blaire. She is given extravagant gifts and treated like a princess to the manor born. She is however, basically his glorified whore. He does not want to feel anything for her beyond the passion of sex.
With these basic character sketches, the story unfolds as each character progresses beyond their initial feelings and status. While I will save the progression of the story for your reading pleasure, I will comment on the fact that this author went beyond the usual formulaic romantic trope with nuances that were insightful and made this read worthwhile.
The resolution to the character’s finding their true and forever love was not a straight shot. If you find yourself as a reader judging a character for their failings, on closer inspection, you may find that these failings may be some of your very own. True and real love involves finding a peace and love of yourself before you can really love another. True and real love involves a level of sacrifice, even a humbling of oneself…All the while being secure in the knowledge of who you are and actually liking who you are.
These are the thoughts and reinforcement of personal discoveries this melodramatic romance held for me. Even the secondary romantic encounters of really the two main lovers, Blaire and Ronan left the others involved with something tangible and real…gifts of the spirit. They certainly were not cheating nor were these interludes written to be meaningless. Life rarely affords a clear and straight path to that person who is “the one” for us. How many of us settle for the good provider, the acceptable one to our friends and family, the path of least resistance?
I so admired Blaire as she was written, if only, simply for the fact that she never settled.
