This was a really good interesting second chance romance. I liked both Layla and Erik they were good together and has super chemistry and I liked that he kinda relaxed a little bit around her. The storyline was good and I enjoyed reading this book.
Eric and Layla were okay, but not my favorite character mix. I felt like it was missing real passion and chemistry.

Erik is a lawyer who has no personal life. The chemistry between Layla and Erik is hot-there is so much passion. Secret can be a relationship’s undoing. What will Layla do with hers??? Recommended read!!

This is one of the sweetest love stories I have ever read. The author is a wonderful storyteller and this is such a beautiful, heartwarming romance. It had me under its spell from beginning to end.
I just loved it! It reminds me that love can conquer things if given the chance.
This book had me laughing and crying and I could not be happier with their HEA and how everything played out.

Sweetening Her Up is from the Love on the Menu series that is a quick read that leaves you wanting more. The storyline was engaging and kept my interest as well as the drama, twists, mistakes and emotional turmoil created tension for the couple. Erik and Layla are both strong characters and that made for a well balanced couple. The attraction between the couple simmered along nice as they engaged in a chemistry that was steamy and hot. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Eric and Laya.
The description was a little vague for what the story really is.
A new family late in life and I don’t mean in the baby variety.
An old flame that neither ever got over. Complications when reunited.
Complications when introduced to a sister she knows nothing about.
But a heated reunion may be just what this extended stay needs.

This is a new Author to me, a well written book that kept me turning pages. A second chance story of to people who reconnect after losing contact after college. This is Erik Fielding and Layla Krause’s story that starts off with a kiss. I enjoyed reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Erik is ready for marriage and kids but it’s just not happening for him. He goes to meet his friend’s renter and surprise is someone from his past that loves to push his buttons, someone who he could fall for. Layla wants to connect with the half-sister she never knew about and having Erik makes it easier, is just that it couldn’t be more between them or could it?
The story had a nice flow to it and a good presentation of the characters.

This was an interesting book. It was well written, but it really was not my cup of tea. The food was good, though. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
Layla and Erik
by Myrna C.
They were lovers in college. After 18 years they met again, not knowing they were set up by family and friend. They still have the same feelings towards each other but because of Layla’s resolve not to let Erik suffer if she gets the family disease tried to push him away. But in the end, they still got to stay together. A happy ending everyone.
This was so good and entertaining. It starts with a bang, or rather a…kiss, once Layla and Erik reconnect. Their chemistry was out of this world and you can sense it coming off the screen. It was nice seeing the connection between them and Layla’s connection to Lindie. The whole story itself flowed nicely and I found myself not being able to put it down until I finished it.

Erik is a lawyer who is successful in his profession but not so much in his personal life but when he runs into a old flame Layla and the hot attraction is still there. As they spend some time together while Layla is visiting a relative he knows he may be losing his heart to her but the secret she keeps may just to be too much for him to handle. Great story line and loved these characters.

Erik Fielding wants to be married with a family. But at forty the online dating hasn’t been working out. He’s a conscientious son and lawyer.
When he steps in to meet his friends renter, it’s instant hotness and they have a blowout.
Layla and Erik were a couple eighteen years ago. She loves pushing his buttons (he’s kind of uptight).
But she there to meet her half sister Lindie and is afraid of a relationship with Erik as a disease runs in her family. But she’s pregnant…
Will they sort it all out?
