ARIA
Ryker North blew into my life like a wall of hot, tattooed muscle.
And did I mention he’s a drummer?
And a businessman?
And thirty-five years old?
And my father is going to kill me when he finds out I’m dating his new client?
It’s… complicated.
But take my word on this. He’s worth every risk I’m taking.
SWEET THING is a full-length standalone older-man-very-young-woman sexy romance filled with forbidden lust, too many ‘first times’ to count, inappropriate touching in public, and an angsty, but perfect, HEA.

Well hello holy hotness….. these books may be quicker, sweeter reads but they still have everything that will grab your attention and pull you in to a world you won’t want to leave! This book was freaking AH-MAZE-ING I couldn’t put it down, in fact, I finished it within hours I was so intrigued with this Taboo storyline. Aria is the sweet teenage young woman that grabs the attention of one Ryker North…. older man with a desire for younger women. What happens when you crave the one person you shouldn’t, the one person you should never touch? You touch and take because there is no other that makes you want, feel and crave that way! This book was sexy, sweet, hot as hell and absolutely PERFECT!
Do you like taboo older man/younger woman romances? Yes, well then this one is for you!! Ryker North…drummer…Real-estate developer…oh and Aria Amherst’s father’s new client. He’s 35 & she is about to graduate high school, but age is just a number right. Aria has to fill in for her sister at the Co-op’s board meeting and there she meets the sexy, much older Ryker looking to rent space. When these two become neighbors at the co-op all bets are off! These two are STEAMY together with all the naughty firsts you can imagine! This book was amazing!! Told in dual POV
Sweet Thing is a quirky May-December romance….really early May and late, late December. Innocence, seduction, recriminations, first time experiences, flaunting societal conventions, and lusty taboos are all explored in this entertaining read.
Ryker North has a penchant for sweet young things. Aria Amherst is definitely sweet and barely legal. When Aria turns the tables on Ryker by blowing him off, she sets him back on his heels and has him scrambling. Thus begins a relationship that will most likely blow up in their faces but these two don’t shy away from what might happen. Instead they embrace their feelings. It does end well but not without some rocky bumps along the way.
A page turner for sure that is an excellent read by JA Huss. A forbidden romance Ryker and Aria. A business proposition that shouldn’t that could not be turned around. Once a kiss took place it kept moving forward.
I wish I had met someone like Ryker at 18! That is the type of man that every woman wants to have as her first everything! Great job J A!
Another 5 Star read by JA that I absolutely love. Aria & Ryker were sweet and sexy and every time they were together I didn’t want to stop reading. Ryker will definitely become your next book boyfriend and will definitely make you swoon. Another amazing story with amazing characters that everyone must read.
Hot damn. I love a good older man/barely legal girl book and This Is It. Aria is all sweet and innocent with a side of naughty and Ryker is all business during the day and sweaty tattooed bad boy at night. This fun dirty read has a tender side too. What more could you ask for!!
I love a good “old”/young trope, and this one was a good one.
The chemistry between both of them, the family aspect, that I wasn’t expecting, all were so beautiful integrated, that it made this story even better than I expected.
The only reason I’m not giving this a 5 stars review is because at times Ryker sounded like a younger version of him, he didn’t sound his age and that throw me off a little when reading the scenes.
But seriously great story, loved those two.
J.A. Huss brings the heat with a very sexy, hot older man, sweet young girl forbidden romance that is sure to leave readers hot and bothered.
Ryker North is a 35 year old former drummer/real estate developer with a penchant for younger women. Aria Amherst is a high school senior who is getting to play grownup for a month and house-sit for her older sister. When these two meet for the first time, the attraction is instant and smoldering and forbidden and too hard to resist.
These two together come across as a very sweet couple. I kept forgetting that he is almost twice her age. Ryker has always been attracted to younger women, but Aria is by far the youngest he’s encountered. Yet she is the one out of anyone he’s been with that calls to his heart and soul. So it complicates things when he finds out that she happens to be the daughter of the man his business partner is brokering a deal with.
Julie is a master at writing about a topic that is usually taboo but she writes the story in such a way that has you rooting for the couple all the way through. I wanted to see these two break through the stigma people tend to have when a couple has an age gap like these two do. But Ryker handles the situation like a champ, even though he’s the last person on earth who was looking to settle down with one person.
The “firsts” these two experience together are sweet and hot and endearing and had me wishing I could relive all my firsts with someone who was as patient and gentle as Ryker. Julie seamlessly navigates both Ryker and Aria down a path of self-discovery and learning experiences together that I felt made their bond even stronger. Throw in a few twists and turns along the way and we get one steamy, sexy read that is also heartwarming.
I’d love to see a couple of the side characters get stories of their own. I’m excited to see what Julie has in store for us next!
This is one scorching hot taboo treat from JA Huss. It’s fast, fun and erotic…and thoroughly satisfying! Ryker is the kind of book boyfriend I dream about. Unapologetic about his proclivity for younger women, he sees sweet Aria and makes claiming her his focus. Nothing prepares him for Aria’s sassiness and sexuality. She might be inexperienced, but she’s tasting freedom for the first time, and she’s going after what she wants…Ryker.
I loved their banter. JA Huss gave them smart sexy dialogue that highlighted their age-gap. For me, that made the story seem genuine. Aria’s reactions and comments were appropriate for her age, though she showed the kind of maturity a privileged and intelligent young woman might show. This pair was so well written. The story, the characters, the heat…it’s so, so tempting. One-click and enjoy!
Ja Huss didn’t disappoint with this Older man/younger woman taboo treat. So steamy and I loved how complete this book was. I can’t wait for Wild Thing now!
Turned my “not favorite subgenre” into an Amazing Story!!
I’m not into “older men/younger women” stories …normally. This story puts you into the head of each character. We feel what they feel. They understand their relationship will not be accepted by society (and family) but feel compelled to be with each other anyway. Resolution seems impossible.
This is hot and sensual, yet the characters come alive, and we can relate and cheer for them as this delightful story unfolds. Just wow!!
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
Sweet Thing by J.A. Huss is an extra-spicy, sweet romantic novella. The story features Aria, a just-turned eighteen year old on spring break, and Ryker, a thirty-five year old real estate developer.
The story set up is fun and the plot is well-paced. As readers can expect with a J.A. Huss novel, the writing quality is excellent. Ms. Huss’ talent allows her to seamlessly transition between genres as evidenced by her recent sweet romance stories. Even though this is a sweet romance, there is quite a bit of heat! The sexual escapades were more advanced than I thought most naive 18 year old girls would go for. However, just when I started to feel Ryker’s attraction was a little creepy, his ethics and inner angst kick in. His internal dialogue/debate changed my opinion about the storyline. I love the compassion and caring he showed Aria, and I melted at his monologue about family and his respect for her parents. While I personally can’t imagine a romantic relationship with someone seventeen years older, love is love, and Aria and Ryker proved their relationship was much more than a sexual attraction.
Ms. Huss has peppered her story with meaningful messages about love, family and friendship that will stick with readers long after finishing the book. Heavy on the sex and no real angst, Sweet Thing by J.A. Huss is a deliciously sweet treat!
Sweet thing blew my socks off! It was definitely sweet, but it was also scorching hot, and a little taboo 😉 I loved the characters, and I loved how they were falling in love without really knowing all that much about each other.
What I loved the most, though, was a quote about how, in X years, they’d have been together for longer than they had not been together, that just made my heart melt.
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It was probably one of the best books by this author I’ve read yet.
Despite the taboo nature of the romance, I really enjoyed the story and the romance.
This book is the second in the Naughty Things series by J.A. Huss.
Sweet thing is a fast-paced story about 18 year old, Arya and much older Rycker (34). I saw in the blurb this was an age gap story, and I had to read it. I didn’t care that it hinted to also being a virgin trope, and I don’t regret it.
I liked Arya, and I saw some of my younger self in her. She was a good girl who did everything her parents told her to.
When she meets Rycker, Arya wants him, and while she does fight it at first their attraction, deep down, she knows she wants to be naughty for once.
I liked Rycker’s reasoning for wanting a younger woman. It made sense. At first, he was in it for the sex, but he realizes very fast it was more than that. He was a man who owned up to his mistakes and showed he was a real man who loved his woman. Someone who would make sacrifices for his girl to be happy.
There were plenty of pretty hot sex scenes. Rycker said a couple of things about Arya being a virgin that made me roll my eyes, but he also was sweet for her and took his time. It also wasn’t something that got dragged out.
I would have liked to hear a bit about them together, some more bonding. Sometimes it felt like it got skipped over quickly, they went from getting to know each other to a relationship in two seconds.
Emma Wilder and Christian Fox narrated the audiobook. Emma Wilder has a sweet, soft voice that suited the young Arya.
This was my first time listening to a narration of Christian Fox, and I loved his rich, deep voice.
Both narrators were able to pull me into the story and keep me wanting more.
While an age gap romance more than often is a little heavy and darker, this wasn’t. There was some drama and angst, but there are reasons that made me know everything would be fine.
Overall I enjoyed this audiobook, it was quick, sweet, and a little dirty.
Sweet Thing (Naughty Things #2) is wonderfully sexy and exciting. Ryker is the hot older man who likes his women young. Aria is a sweet and innocent, eager to learn dirty girl in the making in this lighthearted and fun read. I absolutely recommend it!
Okay, get your shock let out now, when I tell you that this is a story about a eighteen-year-old, and and a thirty-five-year old man. It seems so miss matched, but in a lot of ways it’s not. But, Aria could not have found a better supposed, one and done, birthday present if she tried. You see, two days before, she turns eighteen, she meets Mr. North. The man trying to gain access, into the artist co-op, where she needs to vote as proxy, for her twenty-five-year-old sister. The sister, she is house sitting for, during the next month. Because he says, a one and done, but when he sees how naive yet, determined, Aria, is. He rather, take care of her, than allow someone to take from her, not only her first time, but her innocence, sweetness, and beliefs. He didn’t want to be, just that guy, to her.
You see, her sister is considered the wild child, as far as her parents are concerned. She is always pushing the envelope. She would be the artsy-fartsy one, like her mom. Aria on the other hand, is like her father. More reserved, business awareness, a homebody to the point, where they live in the suburbs, but they all work, and go to school in the city. You see, Aria’s family is extremely wealthy. Point being, her parents didn’t give her a car for her sixteenth, like her sister, or her seventeenth, you see her dad still drives her to and from school. Meaning after school, instead of hanging out with friends, she goes to daddy’s office, until the end of his work day.
So, Aria is now, looking at this spring break as a way to, really be able to spread her wing. Then, after the co-op meeting when, Ryker comes over to thank her for voting in his favor, and ask her out for a drink. She says, coffee but not in her own neighborhood. Then, she decides to invite him to, her sister’s for, coffee. But, when she gets there, her panic sets in, as to the error of her ways. When she finally confesses to, Ryker, he kisses her, then leaves after she tells him she turns eighteen, in two days. Her dad takes his roll of boundaries a little too far. So, when things finally blow between dad and daughter they really blow big time. Did Ryker go to far with pushing the limits absolutely and he mans up. I give him props. Mom is getting total props too.
Don’t get me wrong Ryker is scandalous at first, the way he is jonesing. But, this Kitty called, Aria, learns quickly how to use all her womanly charm to, wind him nice, and tight. At the same time, she could flip, and turn on the spoiled rich girl, which surprises her sometimes, too. Not her normal. When you smother something eventually, it will want to break free.
I have this book would come across in a normal read but I’m in my trial free audible and this was a good pick narration perfect. Love author’s chat at the end.
Sweet Thing was so damn hot. This may be my favorite take on the older man/younger girl romance. It was the perfect mix of sweet and dirty.
I loved Aria’s innocence. It was endearing and made every new thing she experienced with Ryker sweet. She is a shy girl, but through that shyness and hesitation, she still displayed a confidence around him. She faced new things head on and I loved that. It was great seeing how it sometimes took Ryker by surprise and made him even more enamored by her.
I’m not gonna lie I was on the fence about Ryker at first because he was determined to make Aria a one night stand and be done with her. That appears to be his m.o. But he was not prepared for sweet, innocent Aria and one taste of her and he couldn’t stop thinking about her. He tried to stay away from her because she is too young, but he just couldn’t help himself. When he decided he wanted something serious with her, I liked that he approached the situation in a mature way. He took things slow with her, didn’t let their relationship overshadow her future and the important experiences in her life, he took things slow when it came to sex, and the fact that he wanted her parents to approve of their relationship. He turned out to be this amazing guy and loved their relationship.
I fucking loved Sweet Thing. It is very taboo, but not a in a dark way. This book is a feel good, sweet romance between an older man and an eighteen year old girl. Aria is not an immature brat who makes the relationship hard because she’s a child. Instead Aria is very mature and puts her trust in Ryker to treat her right and she really grows up a lot. She handled the relationship like a mature adult and I really loved that. Ryker was so patient and caring towards Aria. It really melted my heart. Not to mention this book is hot as hell. I highly recommend this book.
Very hot! Wildly inappropriate. Romantic? Not really. He’s fascinated by and drawn to her sweetness, her innocence. It seems as though that is more of a fetish for him, which turned me off. But she actually humanized him and he feel hard for this young girl who had a wonderful family. He saw that family and wished for what he had never had as a youth. He almost destroyed it all. Patience and responsibility brought him the forever love he saw in her and even in her family.
