ARIA
Ryker North blew into my life like a wall of hot, tattooed muscle.
And did I mention he’s a drummer?
And a businessman?
And thirty-five years old?
And my father is going to kill me when he finds out I’m dating his new client?
It’s… complicated.
But take my word on this. He’s worth every risk I’m taking.
SWEET THING is a full-length standalone older-man-very-young-woman sexy romance filled with forbidden lust, too many ‘first times’ to count, inappropriate touching in public, and an angsty, but perfect, HEA.

Sweet Thing was a quick, fun, taboo, age gap romance. The chemistry between the two is pretty instantaneous. The scenes are passionate yet sweet and tender.
If you are looking for a fast paced sexy read then grab this one.
Holy smokes!! Ryker is a real man and Aria is so lucky to have found him so early in her life. Yes, it’s a taboo relationship: he’s a 35 year old man and she’s only 18 yo but they attract each other like magnets. I just loved the public and naughty display of lust and the way their “one night stand” developed. An entertaining and steamy read that deserves 5 smoky stars!!
I’m convinced JA Huss can write anything. I loved this story…the storyline, the characters, the lessons. It makes me believe that older/younger might, maybe, could work out? I haven’t been a fan of older/younger romantic relationships since every personal one I know has failed. And maybe this piece of fictional work is just that…but it left me hopeful in case it happens to someone else I know. Will read this one again.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Holy hotness! This book was off the charts smoldering hot and deliciously sexy in every way. What possibly could a 35-year-old man have in common with a 17-year-old, just days away from being 18? When Ryker meets Aria, she tells him a little fib as to her age, but he’s had a taste and now he wants more, even though she’s 17 years younger than him. Aria is sweet, gorgeous, smart and desirable and she doesn’t even realize it and when Ryker makes up his mind, there’s no changing it. Their relationship is the epitome of taboo and I loved it. Ozzy, Ryker’s partner, is not so keen on him dating a “younger” girl, and when he finds out who she is, it could possibly be game over for them and their business. Ryker needs to do right by Aria and takes matters into his own hands and tries to win over her parents, and with all the obstacles, age difference and the fact that they love each other is not going to make this union easy. I was sucked in from the start and gobbled this book up in a day! I loved it and can’t wait to see if we maybe get Ozzy’s story somewhere down the road. Absolutely recommend this book, you won’t be sorry ladies!!
This is a sweet romance between an older man and a very young woman. You would think that it is all about the physical attraction but once they start getting to know each other, their feelings for each other grows even as they realize that a relationship might be impossible due to their age differences. Also, Aria’s family would definitely oppose their relationship.
Aria and Ryker have an instant attraction when they first met even though Ryker knew that Aria is very young but Ryker has this weird attraction to each other. When Ryker finds out that Aria is very inexperience, it just made her more attractive to him. Aria reciprocates Ryker’s attraction and wants to pursue a physical encounter. But one encounter leads to another and they just can’t stop seeing each other. When Aria’s parents find out, they didn’t take the news well and Aria’s father’s business relationship with Ryker is put in jeopardy. Aria also takes a stand about what she wants with her parents and it is up to Ryker to try to help mend their relationships and to show Aria’s parents that he does care for their daughter and would do anything for her.
It’s a sweet romance with some very hot scenes between Aria and Ryker. These 2 individuals are determine to make their relationship work.
Well hello J.A. Huss!! I thought after Pretty Thing (which made me cry), that Sweet Thing would be…..well sweet. It WAS sweet….but in a totally different way than I expected. If you think you are getting a sweet romance, you have another think coming. Totally Taboo, totally hot, totally steamy and totally my kind of read. Ryker has a few years on Aria, but he likes the young ones…this situation has the ability to go completely sideways and it really does but as always, JA has the ability to draw you into whatever story she writes and these fun, wonderfully dirty stories are doing it for me in a HUGE way.
Sweet Thing is a fast paced, age gap romance that I really enjoyed. 18 year old Aria is staying at her sisters apartment for the summer while she works at her fathers business. Meeting a hot drummer who’s twice her age has Aria feeling all kinds of things and the feelings definitely mutual for Ryker. The sparks are flying everywhere with these two but there’s going to be some bumps along the way. Not only is there an age difference but it turns out Ryker is Arias fathers client and they both know their relationship isn’t going to go over well with her dad.
If you like a hot older man, a sweet, naive young woman and plenty of chemistry between your characters, this is definitely one for you to try.
Sweet thing was such a good story!! I personally love and older man story! I am loving these shorter stories. They are fast reads with a great story!!
I REALLY enjoyed Pretty Thing, so when I picked up Sweet thing I was looking forward to the read and don’t get me wrong.. I flew through it, page after page.
So let me start by saying it’s not a bad read. Yes it’s full of sex, yes it’s taboo, and I totally fell for both Ryker and Aria.
At first, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the huge age gap, but I found that Ryker felt like a young soul to me, and it just worked between him and Aria. I really liked their story.
But with that being said, I felt the story was rushed and could have used more plotting- it was a whole lot of sex followed by a little bit of story and some sex. I really liked the “the followed by” half of the book, I liked seeing the story develop but by that time in the book.. it was already over and I just wanted more development with it all. I felt like the resolution was just kind of thrown there in the end.
I do realize JA Huss is changing up her style a bit and is building to the KU audience and I respect that and still love her writing, I just wish there was a little more to push this story over for me.
It took me several chapters before I warmed up to Ryker as our Hero. He was very attracted to a very young Aria while she was staying in her sister’s apartment in the city. Because this story is told from a dual point of view, we here the conflicting voices in Aria’s head on whether she should act on her attraction to Ryker or to back off because he’s too old for her. Likewise, we “hear” the similar tug of war in Ryker’s brain on whether he should back off of his penchant for younger ladies since Aria is quite a bit younger than his normal taste in women. The push and pull between these two as they struggle to get on the same page at the same time adds a humorous touch. In the end, the author provides crucial background information about Ryker which masterfully brings these two to a plausible HEA.
“You’re a sweet little thing, Aria. A very sweet thing.”
Coming off of JA Huss’s book, Pretty Thing, I suppose I was expecting a more angsty, deep story. I am not saying that Sweet Thing doesn’t have its angsty moments, but this book is, instead, incredibly, incredibly sexy.
Synopsis:
Ryker and Aria are very, very different. Aria begins the story as a 17 year old graduating high school student, who turns 18 several days into the story. Ryker is a developer, a thirty-something businessman/drummer. They meet when Aria acts as a house-sitter for her older sister. From the outset, Ryker is drawn to Aria as he has a predilection for younger women: “I want to corrupt her. That’s my sick reason for liking them young. I want to corrupt them.” Unfortunately, he has never dated someone as young as Aria, so he battles with his attraction to her. However, his attraction wins out. On Aria’s birthday, he decides to act upon it.
Aria is drawn to Ryker. On the one hand, she recognizes his age, and she struggles with her attraction to this older man. On the other hand, Ryker ignites an excitement and passion in her. She becomes his “dirty girl,” and the two, who believe it will be a passing fancy, recognize a deeper connection. Sadly, extreme May-December relationships cause problems with Aria’s family, namely her father, who is a potential business associate of Ryker’s. Herein lies the angst and struggle of this story.
I’ll be honest. This book is one sexy fire of a story. Yes, we learn about Ryker’s background, a background that informs his decisions in the story. It’s sad, and your heart breaks a little for him. But Aria and Ryker together is straight up fire. Anything goes in this relationship, and Ryker teaches Aria every dirty thing you can imagine in the bedroom. Even more, Aria becomes an accomplished student at his hand.
One would think that this extreme age difference between the H and h would make for some uncomfortable moments. And it does. However, it isn’t at the level the reader would imagine.
I really did enjoy this book. Ryker and Aria made me laugh and tear up through their struggles. In the end, though, Sweet Thing is a sexy, story of forbidden love gone right.
“She is everything I’ve ever wanted. Young and pretty, sure. Sweet and dirty, yes. But most of all she’s just…mine.”
