I really liked this new series. Buckskin Ranch sounded like a fun place to visit. It’s full of sexy, charming, hardworking cowboys, beautiful horses, and Henrietta Fox, also known as Henri, who owns the ranch. There are other wonderful characters too.
I enjoyed this story of Lucy Patterson who had just called off her wedding because she found her fiance with her roommate just before the wedding. She had decided to spend her “honeymoon” at the Buckskin Ranch anyways. Lucy had spent time at the ranch since she was four, although she had missed a number of recent years. She was in love with Matt Ramsey when she was in her late teens and she had not seen him since she told him she wanted to be with him.
I enjoyed the chemistry between the two although they both tried to ignore it because she lived and worked in LA and Matt worked on the ranch. I was surprised by the ending and I am so glad that this was only the first book in the series because it means I have more books to look forward to. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
First book in what will be another wonderful series from Vicki Lewis Thompson. Second chance at love. Characters who will capture your attention with all their “angsty” issues. True love prevails, just like a good cowboy romance should.
Vicki Lewis Thompson writes outstanding cowboy heroes and this book is chock full of them. There is a wonderful cast of characters to cheer on the first of the Buckskin Brotherhood to find love and I’m sure we’ll see several of them as this great new series continues.
I read an advanced copy of this book
Yeah, A Brand New Series!
Lucy returns to Buckskin Ranch for what should have been her honeymoon sans bridegroom. Meeting Matt again it quickly becomes apparent to Lucy that maybe her and Kurt’s connection wasn’t what it should have been but a long term relationship with Matt is no more possible now than it was 6 years previous, or is it?
If you loved the McGavins of Eagles Nest then you must give this new series a try. It has all the VLT hallmarks – small town coziness, ranch life, endearing characters, cowboy manners/loyalty and the potential to fall in love with a family (by choice, rather than blood). Can’t wait to read the next in the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Vicki Lewis Thompson (VLT) has started another romantic, sexy, fun, cowboy series, The Buckhorn Brotherhood.
In this first of The Buckhorn Brotherhood series, Sweet-Talking Cowboy, Matt, heads to the airport to pick up his teenage crush, and her new husband. Instead, he finds that she’s a runaway bride and he must fight off those old feelings. But the bride isn’t in mourning and likes her teen crush even better as a full-grown man.
Having read all VLT’s series, I pay attention to each person, personality, and job, that she has gathered in the town of Apple Grove, Montana.
There are numerous members of The Buckhorn Brotherhood. I am waiting, with much anticipation, for the book on each Brother, and the women who will win their hearts.
Need more excitement and more moving ending
Very disappointed. Dialog was not well developed. Saying “Yes ma’am” after sex? Silly
The story line was excellent but the explicit descriptions of sexual activity wasn’t necessary, in my opinion.
Good characters and plot. Moved along at a good pace and kept my attention.
Sweet romance with compelling characters, but the writing was a bit clunky for me.
Great book
