Oh, Cade and Casey’s story was just perfect! You have your dirty and sexy moments that you expect from Ashley Hastings characters but with this one you also have added emotions like grieving. I wish I had an Uncle Bob. It was great seeing Cade and Casey’s relationship develop and watch them fall in love. Their first meeting was explosive and I could sense their chemistry right from the start. And boy did the ending just have me crying and laughing at Uncle Bob’s scheming. I hope there are more stories coming from Peacock.

The book is a predictable sort but it was good. Cade and Casey’s relationship is a fast but hot one. You could tell that he was Austins brother the second he started talking about it. Same with something big coming when Cade left his phone. Part of me is bothered by how easy Casey just ignores all the issues that come up throughout. The letters from Uncle Bob really are what got my heart. My dad did something similar so it really touched my heart because I know what that means. My dad even somewhat picked my husband for me before I even knew that they knew each other. The letters had me crying, which is great when a book that moved somewhat that much. Ms Hasting’s really does have a talent for writing and I will more than likely will read her other books very soon.

This is the fourth book by Ms. Hastings that is set in the town of Peacock. It stars a young, grieving, energetic baker named Casey; a new to town, sexy, lawyer named Cade; and an intriguing stack of letters left by Casey’s recently deceased and much beloved Uncle Bob. The first meeting between Casey and Cade was so funny thanks to Tulip the pig and her trapping Casey on a dumpster for Cade to rescue. Cade then gives Casey a letter that was left at the law firm he has taken over from her Uncle Bob. The letter informs Casey that this is the first letters of several that her uncle wrote while he was dying. They are his bucket list and he wants Casey to fulfill all his items while taking his ashes along so that he can participate, also and with the help of the attorney. So begins the adventure and courtship of Casey and Cade. Between her bakery taking off and becoming a huge success way before she planned and fulfilling all of her Uncle Bob’s wishes, Casey will learn to finish grieving, learn how to have fun, learn to run a successful business and learn to open her heart to love. Cade will learn to stop being a one night stand kind of guy and realize that it might not be so bad to give your heart to one special person. I really did not want this book to end and I hope that there will be many more books involving the people of Peacock.

I thought this book was very sweet, fun, cute and delightfully enjoyable. Casey and Cade’s story will have you quickly swept up into it and actively rooting for this couple. I liked Casey so much. She was such a spunky character. I also liked Cade but I found his “No Relationship” attitude and advise to be really annoying and frustrating at times. The whole premise behind this book was clever and moving. With lots of humor, great chemistry, heat, heart and drama, you will find yourself scrounging every spare minute you can find to keep reading.
Sweet Talk by Ashley Hastings is the story of Cade and Casey.
Casey was left on her Uncle’s doorstep when she was young and they became very close. Now he is gone and she is trying to use the shop he left her to make it into a bakery. Cade is a lawyer who just moved to town and he happens upon Casey in a funny situation but is immediately attracted to her. Casey’s uncle left a will with scheduled letters of things he wants her to do for him which Cade is apart of helping to get them done. This brings them both closer together while but thinking it can’t be anything long term…but nothing goes to plan.
Enjoyed their story and this author’s writing.
Nice easy read for a Sunday with your feet up. There’s nothing dark or mysterious about this book, just a sweet story of two people falling in love, basically through letters “sent from the grave”. Ashley throws a couple of curve balls into the proceedings which stir things up a little but not enough for you to really feel this love story was going to go off track. Reading the blurb I did have a box of tissues close by but only needed them right at the last knockings when the final letter was read.
This is the fourth book by Ashley Hastings and I am addicted already. I love that each of the four books could be read in isolation but also that they are connected with their fabulous and realistic characters and location. Casey has grown up loving her Great Uncle Bob who took her in when she was a tiny tot devoted his life to her. He had a fish and tackle shop which, as she grew, she helped him with. But he sadly died and now she is setting the shop up as Sweet Treats as she loves to cook and is trying to make this her employment. One early, and I mean very early, morning she accidentally gets locked out and in need of clothes whilst being ‘attacked’ by a rather large pig! What a way to start the day! To her rescue comes a very attractive man with a ‘slapper’crawling up his arm which doesn’t impress Casey. But the man, seems determined to help besides the fact that he can’t keep his eyes off of her delicious curves. Then she is rescued really by the local cop who is well acquainted with the pig. Later that day, having dumped the ‘slapper’the hunk returns but this time in the guise of her great Uncle Bob’s solicitor/lawyer. He has several letters to give her and each one is for Casey to do one of her Uncle’s bucket list wishes with the solicitor! She’s not going to mind and neither does he. But her lets her know that he only does one night stands and is NOT into relationships [he has given ‘advice’ to his ‘brother’ to even dump his girlfriend because she won’t give up her v-card to the brother!!!! Expect to get irritated by anyone stopping you from reading this book as it is compulsive reading with a terrific storyline, plenty of over the top passion, plenty of OMG romance as well as some angst and feelings of betrayal as well as hope and a HEA. I look forward to Ashley’s next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!!
Sweet Talk is an intoxication worth biting into. Hastings finds humor in the unpleasant, yet she never misses the chance to impart a smidge of wisdom here or a pinch of heart there. From teardrops to belly laughs, Cade and Casey are meant to be savored like a fine wine. Little by little their hearts become our looking glass. Stand too far back and you’ll miss the show. Look too closely and you’ll bruise your heart. Sugar and spice work well together, if you know how to use the right blend.
Casey has just lost her uncle the only living relative that cared about her and to top it off, her boyfriend broke up with her as well. When she is attacked by Tulip the pig, Cade comes to her rescue. She learns that he will be the new lawyer taking over her uncle’s affairs which involve her doing his bucket list that he left unfinished an wanting her to complete. Honored to do it, Cade is a welcome figure on her journey of fulfilling his bucket list but in fulfilling his bucket list will it bring a new love into the life of Casey’s?

Peacock has become one of my favorite towns with some of my favorite people. If you’ve read any of Ashley’s previous books, you’ve met the town baker Casey. I’ve been waiting for her story and this one did not disappoint and left me with a book hangover and craving sweets.
Casey runs the bakery, which also used to be her Uncle Bob’s Bait and Tackle Shop. Cade is a new young lawyer in town and has been tasked with the job of bring Casey letters from her Uncle Bob. Casey is just recently out of a relationship and really doesn’t have much experience with relationships in general. Cade doesn’t do relationships, he doesn’t do love, he is more of a one night stand type of guy. Will he be able to change his ways for Casey? Will Casey be able to let anyone into her heart again?
The true hero of this book is Uncle Bob. His letters and his love for Casey are EVERYTHING! He plays such a major roll in this story and really if it weren’t for Uncle Bob it would have been completely different. I loved every time Casey got to read one of his letters, I may have teared up at every single one of them as well.
This story is sweet (in more than one way), it was steamy and of course has a little bit of drama. I was completely hooked from Casey and Cade’s very first run in and didn’t want the story to end. Grab a brownie, a glass of milk, some tissues and take a trip to Peacock.
Captivating Rollercoaster Ride!
Captivating read that pulled at my heartstrings throughout the storyline but really made me fight back tears at the end. A few unexpected twists that had me doing a retake making sure I was reading the words that put an amazing spin on this story that hit with an impact. A perfect way of shaking things up and getting me turning the pages a whole lot faster. I especially like the twist with the deceased uncle that really set the course for the entirety of the amazing read. Hot chemistry, cute, exciting engrossing twists, a myriad of emotions and a sweet ending. A read well worth reading that I enjoyed very much.
