Sleeping with the competition? Maybe not Rose’s best move.Rose Parker wanted to open an ice-cream parlor in Baytown, but life kept handing her one setback after another. As for her annoyingly handsome neighbor Jason? He always seemed to get everything he wanted.Jason Boswell didn’t mean to start off on the wrong foot with the beautiful Rose, but something about her always throws him off kilter.… throws him off kilter.
When Rose finally manages to get the space for her Sweet Rose Ice Cream Shop and upstairs apartment… right across the street from Jason’s shops… she makes a discovery: letters from a former resident and a skeleton in the cellar.
Thrown into a mystery from years ago, Rose has to call on her neighbor for help. While Jason’s determined to keep Rose safe and uncover the truth, it appears that someone in town wants to keep secrets buried…
Baytown Boys…
Military duty called them away to war zones, but after tours overseas, the group of friends found their way back home as men, seeking the peaceful little seaside town. Now, the band of brothers, together once more, work to provide a place for less fortunate veterans to call home.
Language and scenes similar to what you would find in an R-rated movie.

Oh my the feels this book has. Anything and everything has blocked Rose from the life she wants. Jason just is your typical guy and doesn’t try to find out what happened. But then Rose finally gets what she wants and their paths cross again and finally Rose is get that life and Jason finally wises up. Once these two are finally together there is no stopping them and then our beloved Author throws a few more curve balls at them but the love thses two have for each other helps to overcome every single obstacle.
Well written with both the mystery and romance. Strong characters that are likeable but complex, plenty of romance, and a number of sneaky little twists and turns. I very much enjoy when an author lets you play along with solving the mystery by feeding you little bits and pieces. I always enjoy visiting with our friends from the other books in the series.
This is book 10 in the Baytown Boys series and it features Rose and Jason. They were together once and she had to leave for a family emergency. Two years later, she’s back and neither has stopped thinking about the other their entire time apart. These two have amazing chemistry. It doesn’t feel like the “rip your clothes off” type but more of a deep pull to be with each other, like they are just meant to be. Rose has lots of ups and downs and has a lot of drama in her life. This story is sweet and sexy with a lot of amazing family and friends.
I think the situation with Charlotte was way too easy. Even the climax felt too simple and quick but the rest of the romance was beautiful. I love watching the single guys find their better halves and join the ranks of the happily-in-a-relationship characters. Definitely looking forward to the next one.
Her frustration and anger lead to a night of awesome sex. The early morning ca!l had her leaving before Jason woke. Three years later she was back. Do they acknowledge what happened before or pretend it never happened. So far they have been avoiding each other.
I loved the story and visiting my friends in Baytown again.
I really enjoy this series and I loved this book. I thought Rose and Jason were adorable together. They have their sweet moments and they also have steamy chemistry. One of my favorite things in this book is Rose opening an ice cream shop. I loved that so hard even though it’s bittersweet for Rose. There were a few moments in this book that had me tear up a bit. There is also a little mystery about what Rose finds in her cellar of her shop. A twist I didn’t see coming. That kept me devouring the pages along with Rose and Jason’s story. This is a book you shouldn’t pass up because a story that will capture your heart.
Each of these stories is a great read and addition to the series.
I loved this second chance romance story as well.
This is a sweet story of love and family and two people finding each other again after an absence.
I received an author’s copy and have left an honest review
Jason and Rose were made for each other and they had instant chemistry. Both were shy about expressing their feelings. Rose was so sweet but problems seem to follow her around. Her father’s sudden illness, then death, her mom’s stroke. Throw in finding a skeleton in the basement of her business, getting hit by a car, having someone try to murder her and surprise pregnancy with twins. This book is part of the Baytown series. Neither were original natives but they soon were welcomed into the loving family and quickly became part of the community. No shortage of drama and plenty of emotions in this sweet romance. The characters were well-developed, strong and likable. The story was engaging and I found it hard to put down once I began reading. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review. A sweet happily ever after.
Yes, “sweet books” can be satisfying even if you normally like things more spicy or even hot and racy. I love the Baytown Boys and eagerily await each and every new story about the men who grew up in Baytown or men like Jason who are Baytown plants after their military stint. This story is different in that you see an instant connection between Jason and Rose and then you are forced to “wait” to see how their story ends when the story unexpectedly shoves a three year separation after that spark is lit. Rose just wants to get her lifelong dream of having her own Ice Cream Shop like the one she grew up in that her Mother and Father started and ran most of their married life. Life throws her one obstacle after another until she begins to think she will never get to where her business life and romantic life are in sinc. Just wait, life throws her one more curve and it is true writing mastery to see how everything unfolds.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totall voluntary review.
I have really enjoyed meeting all the residents of Baytown which sounds like the perfect place to live. Rose is the newest arrival who wants to open an ice cream parlour. She meets Jason who runs a garage and tattoo shop and is instantly attracted to him.
How their story develops is written with great care making an intriguing, entertaining and enjoyable book which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Rose wanted the building Jason won the bid on, it was perfect for her ice cream shop and had the bonus of an apartment above it. It was also the only one in the area she could afford without struggling to be a success.
Jason, bought the entire building for his Garage and Tattoo Studio. Having the two businesses next door to each other and the apartment above was perfect for him. He had no idea Rose wanted the shop and while he felt bad, he had won the bid. On a practical note fumes from the garage would definitely be a downside to ice cream preparation and enjoyment.
Rose is angry and frustrated when she confronts Jason in the space and that quickly leads to a totally different kind of heat. A night neither of them will forget, that ends with Rose leaving before Jason wakes, with only a note in her wake.
Now three years later, Rose is returning to Baytown with the same goal of opening an ice cream shop. This time she is a bit more prepared thanks to the events that occurred during the previous years. She is a bit nervous about seeing Jason again, after all she did disappear. The perfect property is directly across from Jason’s garage, she’d have to see him sooner or later.
It was Jason who initiated that first meeting after totally misunderstanding a situation.
While the chemistry is definitely there, they don’t jump in quite as fast. Well they do but there is a lot more conversation first.
A startling discovery almost messes up Rose’s plans, but since it only involves the cellar and an event from years ago, she’s allowed to continue with the renovations and opening plans.
I love the way these two begin the romance that will be more than a one-night thing. The interactions with her mother bring sniffles and all the Baytown Boys and their wives and girlfriends lend helping hands.
Plenty of suspense, many surprises, a lot of love and some sizzling heat. I laughed, sniffled, held my breath and sighed as this book unfolds.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
This was the first book I read written by Maryann Jordan. Even though it was several books into the series it was a great stand alone read. I enjoyed story as it drew me right into Baytown with Rose and Jason. A little sparks followed by love. Then add in the mystery of murder. I definitely have a new Author to add to my reading list.
S
I’ve so enjoyed this series! Rose and Jason add another great couple to this town. Lots of mystery new and old. The support system that is told about in this Series is so great! We could all be so lucky to live somewhere like this.
This is my first book by Maryann Jordan. I absolutely fell in love with this book from the start!! The story is well written, captures your attention, and your heart from the beginning. My face hurt because I smiled and laughed so much through this book!!! This book is a must read!!!
Rose and Jason.. Have been waiting for their tale and definitely was worth waiting for. Another offering in the Baytown Boys series that is a keeper.
Another great read from this author. I love her books because they pull me in and it becomes a place I never want to leave. Great book.
This is book 10 in the Baytown Boys series and while it absolutely can be read as a standalone-I would read the other books before it just you know about the other characters that you see in this book. Jason Boswell has come to Baytown after an invitation from one of his Navy buddies. He needed a change and this seemed like the perfect place to make it while still having a friend. Rose Parker was passing through and fell in love with the town. And decided it would be the perfect place in order to open her ice cream shop. But after losing out on the building she wanted to Jason-she has to find another space. And it makes her lash out at the one person who seemed to be getting everything she wanted. After one set back after another-she finally can move on after she finds the perfect space. Directly across from Jason. And has to decide if the attraction from before can become something more for the both of them.
I absolutely loved this story! Jason is one of those completely stand up guys who would give you the shirt off his back in order to help you. He is sweet and loving but he stands strong for the people he loves and cares about. Rose has a hard few years but she is finally getting to make her dream come true. And even though she has struggled-she still manages to see the good in people. And to show the people that she cares about that she truly does care about them. Not only is their chemistry explosive but they also have this great friendship that I loved. Throw in a little mystery and it makes it even better! Now I have to impatiently wait for the next book because I need to know more about this new man!
There’s nothing that I enjoy more than a good romantic suspense book but add that into a series and I am one happy gal! Sweet Rose is another great story in the Baytown Boys series. It stands alone however Baytown is a series loaded with inter-connected characters so I recommend reading them in order to get the best reading experience. Jason Boswell has landed in Baytown at his friends urging. He’s a mechanic as well as a tattoo artist and the perfect business and location became available. Rose Parker lives in a nearby community. She has met several of the local young ladies and was hoping to get her dream location for her ice cream shop in Baytown but someone else beat her to it! Rose and Jason have quite the heated confrontation and after one steamy encounter Rose drops off the Baytown radar due to personal issues. Jason often wonders what if but he isn’t ready or willing to chase Rose down so life moves on. It is now 3 years later and Rose is back in Baytown the proud owner of a new location right across the street from Jason’s shop. It’s a small town so they know that they will meet up and both are nervous. There’s an old saying that “the heart wants what the heart wants” and I feel that sums up Jason and Rose perfectly. Beyond being attracted to each other their hearts call to each other so it seems like this will be a nice, easy story but no! Rose stumbles into a decades old mystery in her shop and Jason will be by her side every step of the way. I can’t go into more without giving away the story and I am not going to do that. I will say that Sweet Rose is told from dual POV and is sweet, spicy, surprising and will keep you glued to the story until the end.
This series is pretty AMAZING! The men fight hard to protect their women and love them even harder.
Jason is no exception, he couldn’t take he’s eyes off Rose the first time he saw her. The day she comes into his newly purchased building she has fire in her eyes. The night they share is pretty hot and steamy. But when morning comes she’s gone. Jason knew then he would never be the same.
Rose just wants to follow her dream of opening an ice cream shop. She decides to confront the infuriating, gorgeous man that bought the building she had her heart set on.
Who knew that night would be the night that changed their lives forever. But a family emergency takes her away.
Three years later Jason and Rose are together again. Their chemistry is even hotter the second time around. They find love and start planning a life together.
But can letters from the past come back to haunt the future Jason and Rose have planned?
“I voluntarily received this arc book from an honest review”
I am a long time fan of Maryann Jordan and her Baytown Boys series has been a favorite of mine since the first book. As with all of the other books in this series Sweet Rose is a wonderful romantic tale built around two genuinely likeable characters. Throw in a mystery and a bit of danger, you’ve got a marvelous reading experience.
Jason and Rose worked for me on all levels. Life, initially, may have conspired to keep them apart but when they found each other again things just clicked. As their lives became more intertwined with each passing day, They have an easy kind of love with a lot of passion. There is drama but it surrounds a discovery made by Rose in her ice cream shop.
The ice cream shop owner and the tattoo artist? Yes please. Throw in a bit of angry attraction and some mystery and you have all the makings of another great Maryann Jordan Baytown book. I loved Rose’s character and her chemistry with Jason was just the best. Another great read.
