Fun, warm hearted cozy mystery.
I enjoyed this read. It was fast & witty & fun to read.
Mary and her grandson Tripp have moved to Georgia to open a sweets shop. Cindy, a neighboring shop owner, talks them into taking cookies to the Books Day celebration. During a film festival there, a woman named Kristin that she’d had a long time affair with Pastor Josiah. And that night Josiah is killed. Mary, a former investigative journalist pretty much takes over the investigation from Officer Prescott, whom she’s also dating. This is a book with a simple plot and a pushy woman insinuating herself into a police investigation. Two side stories – Hannah in a wheelchair as a result of a hit-and-run accident, and Tripp grieving for his recently murdered father while living with a grandmother he barely knows. The book was neither special nor compelling.
