So much drama! I love it!
This was the perfect ending to a great story. It was action-packed from start to finish, every single twist and turn kept me hooked!
I love Abby and Kai. They’re great together and I’m glad everything worked out for them after everything that happened
I can’t wait for Jackson and sawyers stories, I know they will be just as amazing as this series.
Sweet Retribution is the final book in this story of Kai and Abby and my gawd, what an absolute ride it has been! Right from the start, from the twists and turns that I haven’t seen coming (and I meant that!), to the twisted lies and betrayals to the damning secrets, the author and the story had me in its clutches right until the very AMAZING end. I’ve rooted for these two and after all they went through, I’m so happy that they’ve received their HEA. Well deserved! I couldn’t say anything more. I am out of words to describe the awesomeness that is this series!
Needless to say, I loved this and I want more! I can’t wait to read my next book boyfriend, Jackson. Need it now!
This is the final book on Abby and Kai’s story and I’m happy everything got addressed and tied up here (well almost everything! I’m sure there will be more in the Jackson and Sawyer books!)
At the end of last book, I was furious at what had happened to Abby, so it was great to read her plotting out her revenge here. She got to work with those close to her and they managed to execute a near-perfect plan on those who deserved it.
I wish those who got away will eventually get caught but let’s hope we’ll find out in the future books. I also hope to read more about Abby and Kai in the upcoming books, even though they won’t be the main characters there.
Overall, a great series by Siobhan and thank you for giving me the chance to read it 🙂
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)
I think I read a different book to everyone else.
I hate being the first person to write a review that is not glowing, but in this case I was disappointed. Everyone is talking about all the twists and turns, all the emotions and feels, and how much they loved this ending, while I’m just sitting here searching for the things that had people making such statements.
I’m a big Siobhan Davis fan, I’m happy to dive into each new release, but since the start of the Rydeville High Elite series, I’ve been unsure. I’m the minority, finding it difficult to invest in the romance playing out in the first three books in the series. Everyone is crazy about them, but I have failed to feel the emotion.
I think, in part, this is due to how close many of the bully aspects in the first book are to my past experiences. Had a group of guys assault me? Been there, done that, got the physical scars to prove it. Had someone who was supposed to be close to me use a suicide attempt against me? Been there, done that, got the emotional scars to prove it. Decided the former are going to become friends and the latter is to be the love of my life? Somehow, I’ve gone wrong. Evidently, based upon this series, I’m a coward who does things wrong. Instead of facing things, I buried my head in the sand and tried to keep a low profile to prevent worse things from happening (not that it helped). As soon as the chance came, I put as much distance between myself and these people as possible. It helped, but you cannot escape your memories. Memories that linger no matter what, making it difficult to believe someone who experienced such things can feel romance towards such people.
However, despite these feelings, I trusted Siobhan Davis to win me over. She has done so in the past with other things, things I did not think she would be able to win me over with, and I had my fingers crossed the same would be true here. Thus, I pushed aside my feelings about bully romances and how the trend really isn’t healthy to focus solely on the other aspects of the story. Did the romance seem real? Were there twists and turns? Did the story hook me?
It’s through rating this book on those things that this third book actually spent a while being a one-star rating. I hate saying it – as I said, I’m a big Siobhan Davis fan – but such was the case. Again, the emotion between the characters was based upon everyone saying there was chemistry without really feeling it. The twists and turns were predictable – it reached a point where I was doing a mental checklist against other popular novels. There were inconsistencies with the way the characters were behaving, with behaviours changing to suit the situation instead of remaining true to what we have been learning about them. The internal monologue of our leading lady went very Fifty Shades with her ‘inner whatever-it-was-this-time’ (fortunately, we did not get an inner goddess, which really would have tipped me over the edge). Then, what really caused me to put down the book and have to leave it for a while was when we recreated the scene from Fifty Shades that I have worked so hard to purge from my memory.
At this point, I had to put the book down because I was becoming overly critical. I cleansed my mind with another read, then came back to it when I was no longer so annoyed. When I went back, the story went up to the two-star rating. Even though everything came together far too easily in the end – I really wanted more, considering how big and evil this world is supposed to be – it did not drop back down to the one-star rating. I don’t know if it was because I started this one on the first day of my period, so I was in major PMS mode, but when I came back to it, I wasn’t as annoyed. I was still disappointed – Siobhan Davis usually blows my mind, yet this one felt too easy and felt like it existed solely to appease people rather than remaining true to what it could have been – but that I can deal with.
Despite the fact this one did not feel like the Siobhan Davis I know and love, I was addicted throughout. I had to see how everything came together, which means I didn’t completely hate it. To the point where, oddly enough, I remain curious about the future books in this series. I honestly believe it was just the Abby and Kai arc that I was not down with, as other elements I was really curious about. There were plenty of points where I got to see signs of the Siobhan Davis I’m used to, leaving me with the belief the future books in this series could return to what I like about the author.
As I said at the start of this review, I hate to be the first person who does not give a glowing review. In fact, I’m fearful of doing so. The last time I was the first to put up a review on a Siobhan Davis book that was not glowing, I ended up with the comments section being overloaded with people snapping about my view being wrong. The weird thing is, it was a three-star rating, and if you hover over the three-star rating it actually comes up with “I liked it”. If you hover over the two-star rating it comes up saying “it was okay”. That’s what this one was. It was okay. In the end, I did not pull my hair out, but I did not love it either. It’s weird, but I feel people no longer use the rating scale the way they are intended. I’ve been kicked off ARC teams for three-star ratings (which, in the long-term, I feel reflects badly on authors rather than readers, especially when said reader has given high ratings to other books and it was clearly a one off), but I feel my role as an ARC reader is to give an honest rating. Not everyone is going to love every book, we are all entitled to our options, and such is the case here.
I may have been disappointed by the conclusion of the Abby and Kai arc, but that does not mean everyone will be. It’s personal taste, accept opinions are going to differ.
What a fantastic way to tie up K & A’s love story.
The twists and turns within the pages will keep you guessing till the very last page.
The action starts from page 1 and will continue to blow your mind throughout.
Relieved that we’ll see them all again soon.
**4.5 Stars**
What a wild and crazy ride to conclude this twisted series. Sweet Retribution started with Abby and Charlie getting married where book two in the series left off, which also brought about an insane amount of plotting to right all of the wrongs which brought this group of people to this point in time. Kai, Drew, Abby and the crew worked diligently to uncover the secrets of the past with their parents and the eveything at Parkhurt to help ultimately take down Abby’s father and ensure that Abby could have her HEA with who she belonged with.
There were so many crazy moments and surprises. The elite men in this story lacked all morals to say the least. I really enjoyed Kai and Abby and Xavier and Jackson and I loved that Drew was able to redeem himself. This was my first series from the author and I am always astounded when authors can write these complex stories with so much detail and deception and betrayal. Very well done!!!
Well the name says it all, and Sweet Retribution it was. What a wild ride this book and series are. So many twist and turns that kept me totally engaged and invested in this story, it kept my heart racing and I found myself holding my breath during so many scenes! I love the two main characters Kaiden & Abigail and I really rooted and felt so deeply for them and what they had to endure. But it is also the secondary characters that really help move this story along. I really loved these characters and some I loved to hate.
This whole series is such a page turner with an abundance of twist you just don’t see coming. Although this book is the end of Kai & Abby’s story, I cant wait for the other characters to get their books and the stories they deserve.
This book seriously blew me away! I can typically can see what is coming, but not here. My jaw was on the floor in many different parts of this book. If you’re into the bully romances and dark reads, then you should definitely read this series because it does not disappoint! Siobhan Davis created an exciting and intense world in these books!
It’s hard to think that anything about this series is happy. Don’t let the words of the series fool you. Our characters seem to have more intellect than someone who is still in high school.
Abigail “Abby” Hearst-Manning seems to be resigned to her fate but that doesn’t mean that she has to be happy about it. One thing that impressed me was that the author took her time to build Abby’s side of the story before changing it over so we get Kaiden “Kai” Anderson’s perspective about what is going on.
This books is a reminder that you can’t start this series here because you won’t know what came before – how our characters got to this point in their lives. It’s a story where the family dynamic may be totally different than your own and that’s what will keep you turning page after page. For me, this was more of a suspense than anything else.
Here, I felt unsure of Abby and her motive as to what her goal was going to be. Kai seemed to take a backseat and lets Abby run the show. There are moments where you may or may not feel sympathy. But the hard part is trying to figure out who is innocent and whose not. The one question I had was how our main couple was going to end up being happy. Our author shows that it can be done.
But I do have to say that I’m a little confused. In getting my part in the book’s blog tour ready, I see the word “conclusion” but when I get to the end of the book, and in looking at the series on GoodReads, I get a different sense about the series. That just means that I will have to play very close attention to what Ms. Davis writes so that I don’t miss a thing because there are characters I’m not sure she’s done with yet.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
“After today, every man in this room will learn a valuable lesson – that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
And the story of Abby and Kaiden comes to an end. With a journey full of twists, pain and betrayal, these two fought tirelessly to ensure their happy endings. The two finish the second book at a disadvantage, but underestimating Abby will be the ruin of her father.
Broken, yes. Defeated, never. Abby will show the Elite that the worst possible nightmare personification is in the form of a young woman. All these years of living in this corrupted world will give her the wisdom to play the game as equals, and the checkmate will be guaranteed and well appreciated.
Manipulating Charlie will be easy. Gather evidence with the help of her friends as well. But pretending and not getting her father’s attention will be more difficult. As well as escaping the onslaught of old and new enemies. With new revelations on the scene, and the past becoming important to unravel a great mystery, the book will be filled with action, twists and extreme situations. Some will cause apprehension, and will make the reader get desperate as well as the characters.
But some points, at least for me, were still loose. With Atticus and Christian on the run, the conclusion was not fully delivered, and with the announcement of other books featuring the rest of the characters, I think we’ll still see the Elite. Just like Drew’s plot, which still remains a mystery to me.
The book’s big secret didn’t make a big impact on me. I thought the solution would be another. Abby’s father succumbed very quickly, and the long-awaited poetic justice did not happen. Charlie, who was previously turned into a villain, tries to redeem himself, and is shown to be not in his normal mind. Sorry, his father died because of him. He is villain and period. There is no way to seek forgiveness or try to explain. And Trent, honey, you won’t be missed.
Overall, the feeling is that Abby and Kaiden ended their stories, finally getting together. With a love out of the ordinary, these two understand, complement and need each other. But in the matter of narrative, of the series, some situations do not fit or were left open. A good conclusion, but with the impression that something was missing. I hope the next books will be able to finalize the whole plot.
*ARC provided in exchange for an honest Review *
I couldn’t wait to read Sweet Retribution. With the cliffhanger ending of Twisted Betrayal, I needed to know what happened to Kai and Abby. So, I squealed like a tween seeing her celebrity crush in person when I saw that it was up for review. Sweet Retribution was everything that I hoped for and more!!
I loved Abby in Sweet Retribution. She hit rock bottom in Twisted Betrayal. The things that happened to her hurt my heart. She didn’t dwell on them. Instead, she took everything and used that anger and hurt to fuel her revenge. Even though she was dealing with some insane adult issues, she was still a teenager, and she acted like it. Her scenes with the twins cemented that for me. Plus, I got to see her catty side again, which was a massive hit with me in the previous two books.
I loved Kai too. Along with Abby, he hit rock bottom. Like Abby, he used what he learned to fuel his revenge. I loved how in love with Abby he was. If I had any doubts about his feelings for her, they were erased in this book. He was with Abby every step of the way with her revenge. Of course, Kai wouldn’t be Kai without his anger and rage. But, in this book, he was careful and didn’t go off the rails.
I wanted to shake Charlie. Every scene he was in, I kept thinking to myself: “WTF is he THINKING!!!!” He was playing a dangerous game with Abby and Trent’s fathers. He did do his best to protect Abby, his mother, and his sister but ended up failing (well failed Abby and his mother). His rock bottom came about the middle of the book, and I felt terrible for him. But, he did it to himself. He did redeem himself at the end of the book, though.
Abby’s father disgusted me. He was a slimy, nasty piece of work that deserved everything that he got. Every scene with him made my stomach turn. All I have to say is that he earned everything that he got.
I do want to give a heads up, though. Sweet Retribution doesn’t hold back anything when it comes to Abby’s father’s dungeon. Some scenes made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. There were brief descriptions of rape (adult and child). There was the talk of incest and sexual abuse (which made me thankful that Abby’s father didn’t use her like that). There were descriptions of forced procedures and forced incarceration.
There were a few twists in Sweet Retribution’s plotline. Two, I guessed as early as Twisted Betrayal. But, the way they were revealed was shocking. The third, I had a feeling something happened, but I wasn’t sure. So when that was announced, it was a shock also.
The end of Sweet Retribution was excellent. Abby and Kai’s hard work paid off. I was disappointed at specific things that happened. I can’t say much more than that. The epilogue was one of the best that I have read. Loved it!!
I am super excited about this, Jackson, Sawyer, and Charlie are getting their romances. I can’t flipping wait!!! The only one I didn’t see was Drew. I hope that he gets his own (hopefully with Jane).
This series. This boooook!! My emotions were all over the place. The love, the deceit, the lies, the twists and turns. Your heart and feelings will be all over the place but I promise, this series is a must read.
This is the first series I have read of Siobhan and man, she has me hooked. I fell hard for Kaiden but I have to admit, my favorite character is Abby. Her strength throughout this series is truly amazing and empowering. To say I raced my way to that ending, is an understatement. And just know that you may think you have this story figured out and then BAM, Siobhan is going to take our beloved characters and you on such a rollercoaster ride, that you get sucked in and can’t stop reading until to very end. Your emotions will be all over the place but I promise, you will love every single moment.
5 sweet retribution stars!
“After today, every man in this room will learn a valuable lesson—that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
Finally, the time has come for Abby to take down the men who’ve done her (and Kai) wrong. But it won’t be easy, it won’t be short, and it won’t be pretty. No, it will take efficient planning, cunning, and some good old fashioned anger on Abby’s part, to motivate her to get it all right so she can take her life back, so she can be with the man she is so in love with, with no one in their way.
Damn!! I absolutely loved this trilogy. Bully romances don’t always work for me, and there have been very few since Vicious that I can say I loved, but the Rydeville High Elite series is excellent – edgy, dark, seriously sexy, and suspenseful. I will be the first to admit that Kai was not my favorite character for quite awhile, but he really redeemed himself throughout Sweet Retribution. And Abby? Well, she more than came into her own here, and she kicked ass while doing so. She’s one badass warrior when scorned, and was clear in what she set out to do. I’m so glad she and Kai got the ever after. According to a note at the end of Sweet Retribution, Jackson and Sawyer’s stories will be told in the future, and I for one, CANNOT WAIT!!
Holy smokes! What a freaking roller coaster of a ride that this series has brought me. Just when you think all is going according to plan we are once again met with twists and turns and will have you speechless and at one point disgusted thanks to expectations of an Elite woman.
The journey for Abby and Kaiden is one that cannot be taken lightly. It will break you down into pieces you least expected and have you fall deep in hopes for a happily ever after for these two. They were determine to make changes and get their revenge; however, they had to make sacrifices that a typical relationship would not stand for. They needed to be strong on their plans no matter how frustrating and ugly it could be.
The author knows how to keep the readers on the edge of their seat. Each cliffy in the series brought a jaw dropping ending that will have you itching for more stat. Life for these two had constant challenges they had to face but no matter what they were they always had a chemistry that was off the charts. This is a series that I will not forget. Totally recommend! Be forewarn your heart will achingly break but it will be all worth it at the end.
The epic conclusion to Abby and Kai’s story was unbelievably gripping. The title of the book fitted perfectly to this installment – the retribution was indeed sweet. The twist and turns were exceptionally well planned. I admired the author’s ability to weave the hints delicately in the series so that all the revelations were back-up seamlessly. I believe that the enjoyment of the trilogy would be ten-folds if I were to read the three books back to back. This amazing addictive, highly intense and suspense filled trilogy introduced me to Siobhan and I have no regrets. I’m obsessed and I cannot wait to see what is to come from the Rydeville High Elite series next.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
What a super way to finish this series!
Hard hitting, conniving and brave sums up Abby’s character development in this story. She holds nothing back. Intelligent, passionate and strong in the face of adversity, Abby is somewhat a super hero. Surrounded by her loyal friends she sets out to exact revenge for the harm caused only to find everything isn’t as it seems.
Kai, loving and loyal supports Abby in her plans even when time and space seperate them.
Action packed, you’ll enjoy this.

This was an amazing ending to an amazing series. This should be made into a Netflix series or something. I can not get enough of this story and the world it is set in. I have already read the series 3 times since this book came out. This is one of those books that sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cant really say anything because i don’t want to spoil a thing. This series is my all time favorite!!!!!
A brutal and combative extension to one heck of a series, Siobhan Davis delivers blow after emotional blow in this whirling tornado of a story. Nobody is safe, no crazy scenario is off-limits and there are no morality lines that won’t be crossed on the way to revenge and retribution.
This book was nothing short of crazy. It flows at a break-neck pace, pumping copious amounts of drama and angst straight into your soul and keeping you on edge throughout the entire book. Whatever you’re expecting to happen in this book, you’re not prepared for the actuality. I guarantee it. But hey, there is peace to be found amidst all the chaos. I was blown away, sure. But I was also tethered by the undeniable sweet love story hidden under all the calamity.
It’s another win for Siobhan, and I can’t wait to see what she delivers next.
5 stars for Sweet Retribution by Siobhan Davis. This is book 3 in The Rydeville High Elite Series. Wow the ending to Kaiden and Abby’s story was amazing. I don’t even know where to begin. I loved Abby I’m this book. She is extremely strong and finally ready to get her revenge for everything she has been thru. This book does start right where book 2 left off and man is what happens a doozie. The relationship between Kaiden and Abby is tested and we learn more secrets about every one. “You’re a fighter, and I’m a fighter. Alone, we don’t stand a fucking chance, but together, we just might find a way out of this nightmare.”
I don’t wanna say to much and ruin anything, I will say this book was the best in the series and to be ready for a wild ride.
In the final story in this trilogy now that Abby has escaped those that wanted to control her she is determined to ensure the entire Organization is brought to their knees so that no one else needs to endure what she has. With the help of Kai and her friends she shows the strong woman that she has become and will fight to the end and will not back down.
Kai shows how deep and true his love for Abby is and how he will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe. The chemistry between them is hotter than ever and there is no doubt that they are soulmates.
This story takes you on a wild adventure filled with suspense, twists and so much angst!
Siobhan Davis speaks in an eloquent voice as she brings the story of Kai and Abby to a conclusion in Sweet Retribution. Abby is witness to a murder, terrorized by her father’s henchmen, brutalized in so many ways at Parkhurst, forced to marry against her will…can it get any worse? Oh, yes, so much worse! Michael has shown his depravity and callousness as he systematically blackmails and manipulates The Elite to vote for him as president in the upcoming election. Abby, Kai, Drew, their family and friends hope to take him down in a carefully planned multi-phased attack. Everything has to come together perfectly if their plan is to succeed. The tension ramps up as show time draws near when, suddenly, Abby is taken! The Elite show no mercy when attempting to dole out her punishment for disobeying but Abby does what she does best…fights back! That only makes things worse and something is bound to go horribly wrong as the time for the vote arrives. As it gets underway, the world implodes around the Elite. Their secrets, lies and treachery are broadcast everywhere and the world rights itself, if just for awhile. After that flash bang ending, there are relationships to be solidified, loved ones to be celebrated and friendships to be rekindled. A sense of peace envelops the city of Rydeville, Abby and Kay have their happy ending but I doubt it’s the last we’ve seen of the Elite!
