Lyla Dupree She’s a bubbly, sugary sweet pastry chef. Living her best life in the Big Apple. Luxury apartment. Successful patisserie. Everything is great–better than great. It’s absolutely perfect. Raleigh Jacobs He’s grumbly and growly–and so very out of his element–working on a temporary assignment in NYC. He wants to do his job and get out. Back to the clean air in the mountains near … get out. Back to the clean air in the mountains near Denver.
Throw them together.
Mix things up.
Turn up the heat and what you get is, quite simply, alarming.
After all, 425 Madison is the perfect place to fall in love.

Great story about a woman entrepreneur in New York City and a business man in New York temporary, at least that was how it started. Laney and Raleigh find each other in the most unusual way, fire alarms. Laney opens another shop in Denver her hometown and that is also Raleigh. They meet up again in Denver and will see where things go.
Another lovely story set at 425 Madison! This series never disappoints.
Lyla owns her own patisserie, she is happy and loves to bake, especially at home. The only problem is her smoke alarm keeps going off, and they can’t figure out what the problem is.
Raleigh is a bearded brooding man who only wants to do his job over the next few and get back to him son, but, he never expected to meet the bubbly Lyla.
She is determined to bring Raleigh out of himself and when he is unexpectedly left with his son, she helps out, but Raleigh makes a mistakes, says things he doesn’t mean and leaves. So Lyla moves on with her life!
Can these two lovebirds realise their feelings for each other or has too much time passed.
From the start I fell in love with this story. I loved how grumpy with the world Raleigh was and how lyla burst out in a bubble of verbal nonsense whenever she was nervous. Sam was a hoot, she really have a kick to the story. It was a sweet read in more ways than the pastries on offer. Great read.
What a way to meet someone, over s smoke alarm going off. This story was funny, certainly tense and all round sweet as. Raleigh was tall, gruff, dark and hot as. His next door neighbour a baker with a faulty smoke alarm Lyla just sweet as can be. This was a slow build romance, both had walls to break down but crumble eventually they do. With the underlying plot and other characters this story moves along nicely. Just a nice feel good story!
This was an ARC and this is my honest review.
This is a sweet albeit somewhat predictable romance. Girl living in New York meets cranky new neighbor who is far from impressed with city life. I love the single dad element of this book. It took some increase effort on my part to stay engaged but that could just be about me.
Overall this is a fairly good read that has been added to the 425 Madison Ave Series. Happy Reading Everyone!
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and the second book I’ve read In the the 425 Madison book series.
I was hooked from the beginning and I absolutely loved it and I will be highly recommending this book when it gets released.
Lyla is a really sweet, very bubbly, fun loving woman who likes to bake in New York city. She gets very rambly with her words when she’s over enthusiastic and just really cares. When a sexy bearded man moves in next door she’s determined to show him that you can enjoy the city.
Raleigh ends up in the city because of work. All he wants to do is to the job quick as hell so he can get back to his son Matty.
They end up bonding straight away over her fire alarm, that is constantly going of in her apartment.
The chemistry between these two characters is explosive, they are so cute I love them. Can these two characters find love together ?
( NO SPOILERS ).
I really like this author writing style and I absolutely loved this book,
I loved these characters, only at first I didn’t think I’d like Raleigh but he turns out to be so lovely and sweet. This book is full of romance and a great read.
I would like to read more from this author in the future because I enjoyed this book well, and I look forward to seeing what this author writes in the future. I will definitely be reading more in this series too.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This book is expected to be released 24th February 2020
Sweet on You is Book 13 in the 425 Madison series and the first book I have read by this author. These stories all stand perfectly fine on their own so no worries for anyone who has not had a chance to read them all.
This story had the potential to be an amazing 5-star story had it been longer and more in-depth but I felt it was missing some context, especially with regard to Raleigh’s behavior. While I adored Lyla and even Raleigh’s precious son, I cannot say I ever really warmed up to Raleigh. He was a colossal jerk with a chip on his shoulder a mile wide. I had a hard time understanding what exactly Lyla saw in him and why she kept coming back for more.
Even though I wasn’t a huge fan of the hero of the story, it was an extremely well-written story with a great heroine, some enjoyable secondary characters and some fun moments. It made a good addition to the series and I cannot wait to read what is in store for us next!
Layla owns her own bakery and has one small little problem with her apartment which is the fire alarm which chooses to go off at will. She is friendly, sweet, sassy and repays the others in the building with sweets, so the staff and tenants just accept it or at least everyone does except for her neighbor Raleigh who is not impressed.
Raleigh is recently divorced and has no interest in being in NY or leaving his son, so this temporary work assignment is not what he wants, and he is taking it out on those around them. When he unexpectedly finds himself looking after his son Layla steps in and they become close even though they know their relationship has an expiry date.
I really enjoyed the relationship not only between Layla and Raleigh but the relationship that they had with his son as well.
4.5 stars really.
Like all the other books that I’ve read in this series, it was a very sweet and simple story. While the characters did have their own back story issues, they are part of the story but in a way that doesn’t bog it down. I had trouble putting this story down when I picked it up, because it just kept me reading and turning pages to see how it would go. It was pretty much what I expected for this series, but I would say it is one of my favorites so far. I also enjoyed as usual the characters we’ve met in past books showing up and getting to see how they were doing. I look forward to maybe stories for some of the characters in this story in the future as well.
Raleigh has had to move to NYC and 425 Madison Avenue for work and hes none to happh about that but happy to be away for a short space of time. Layla is neighbour has a bit of a problem with her smoke alarm lol…thats putting it mildly & lets say that the alarm & Raleigh do not get on at all. This story is a push pull story and its a push pull on your heart strings. This book is the first to make me cry. Absolutely amazing read xx
Another great addition to this series. This is the first book I have read from KC and it was a great book. Lyla and Raleigh live in the same building. She is bubbly and outgoing and runs her own bakery. He is there on business and is grumpy, unhappy and out of his element in New York. It also doesn’t help that her fire alarm keeps going off all the time , despite everyone trying to stop it. But when he gets a taste of her yummy croissants and delicious coffee they get to talking.
Things suddenly change when his young son is dropped off with him unexpected by his ex-wife. Lyla steps up to help him. But with his determination not to stay in New York will this between them go anywhere? Will these two get a happy ever after?
Enjoyable storyline with two characters that are opposites but work well amazing together and have great chemistry. I enjoyed the authors writing style and absolutely loved this book. It is full of romance and enjoyable from beginning to end. I would love to read more from this author after this one
This was another solid offering from this series! Raleigh is in town for work and he can’t wait to get back home to Colorado. Lyla is a pastry chef who is nice and sweet just like her pastries. They meet when Lyla keeps setting off the smoke detector in her apartment next door. This was such a cute story. I enjoyed it very much!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
Raleigh Jacobs comes to NY with a huge chip on his shoulders. He doesn’t want to be there, doesn’t like where his life has left him, and isn’t going to be happy with anything. As he gets to the apartment, he is sub-leasing the smoke alarm in the apartment next door is going off and it just annoys him more, then he meets Lyla. He is doesn’t want to make friends with anyone, but she just won’t give up. She shows up with treats, dinner, and owns the coffee shop that is on his way to work each morning. Of course, sparks fly between them.
The ties between Lyla and Raleigh are wonderful. Both are from Colorado, both have histories of relationships that didn’t go so well, and both are attracted to each other. I enjoyed seeing how Lyla would break down Raleigh’s tough and grumbly exterior to get to his heart. When Raleigh’s son shows up for a visit the true Raleigh shines through and Lyla can’t help but fall for it. Love isn’t easy but these two show that with trust, hard work, and an open heart it is worth fighting for.
I love the 425 Madison series for so many reasons. The stories feature real people who just happen to live in the same location. Each book is it’s own story and is not contingent on the other books in the series. The books in this series are quick and easy to read and I often find myself reading them in one sitting because I cannot put them down.
I definitely recommend picking up Sweet on You and finding love at 425 Madison.
Lyla Dupree is sweet and bubbly the perfect opposite to Raleigh Jacobs who is grouchy and stoic. But there is much more to this temporary New York City transplant, so much more, and Lyla is the perfect person to peal back his layers.
At first Raleigh came off to abrasive but once I found out more about him I understood why he was the way he was. I enjoyed watching Lyla and Raleigh dance around their attraction for one another before giving into it.
This was a nice addition to the series and my first read by this author. I noticed she added some characters from her other series to this story so I have to go over and check them out, you know I’ll be adding some of them to my ever growing TBR pile.
This book as with other in the series can be read as a complete standalone. I am enjoying the series so I recommend the full series as well as this book to anyone that loves a good contemporary romance. If you enjoy the opposites attract trope or a Return To Hometown Romance I would recommend this book to you.
Happy Reading!!!
KC Enders has joined 425 Madison for the second season with Sweet On You. Sweet On You is the 13th book in the 425 Madison Series and I have to say…it is not one that you will want to miss. Grab your coffee and a chocolate croissant or a tumbler of bourbon and let’s chat about Sweet On You by KC Enders.
He is a grumpy engineer who is in New York to fix a job that someone else messed up. She owns a fussy pastry shop in New York and has never met a stranger. He can only breathe in the mountains with their wide-open spaces. She followed a boy east but has made New York her home. She makes sinfully delicious chocolate croissants and he has a love-hate (mostly love based on the groans that come out of him) relationship with that sugary sh*t. He wears flannel, perfectly filled-out jeans, a beanie, and a scruffy beard which reminds her of the real men back home not the hipster, artsy wanna bes. He reminds her of home – Colorado, a place she doesn’t want to go back to. His son is in Colorado and he can’t wait to get home. Together, they make sense at least for as long as he is in New York.
Layla and Raleigh are beautifully developed characters. Raleigh is my current book boyfriend that I am willing to share with you for a short time but you have to give him back because he is a keeper. Layle is a hilarious character who gets word vomit when she is nervous and you never know what is going to come out of her mouth. I think that I mentioned a kid. Raleigh has a son, Matty who steals the show.
This is one of my favorite stories in the 425 Madison series. I know. I know. I say that a lot but it is because they are all so good. I mean have you read them? If not, why are you waiting?
My rating of Sweet On You by KC Enders….5 out of 5 propellers
What a perfect addition to this series!! I’m loving each book more than the last and I REALLY loved Lyla & Raleigh!
I loved how they bonded over the annoying fire alarm in her apartment, and how Matty showing up helped these two give into the attraction even more! The whole story just flowed and I didn’t want to stop turning the pages!
I can’t wait to read more from KC!!!
Lyla and Raleigh were the perfect pair.
They made me laugh. Raleigh was so growly and grumpy all the time. Lyla just found a way in. Slow and steady wins the race.
425 Madison just keeps getting better and better and I love meeting all the residents.
This book was sweet and fun, I loved the Lyla, Raleigh banter.
Sugar and spice and everything nice is about to meet the Grinch that stole Christmas. Raleigh and Lyla are a sweet serenade. Enders gives predictable an irresistible twist. With a sense of humor and an open heart, Sweet on You, makes for an addictive temptation.
Tender and moving
4.5
Very tender story, with very engaging characters who kept my attention. The story is simple, but moving from the beginning to the end.
Raleigh, divorced, is in New York for work. He hates the city and arrives when his neighbor’s ringing fire alarm. Grumpy, he only wants one thing: quickly leave. His neighbor is Lyla, a pastry chef who has a tendency to rambling when she is nervous.
Although he is regularly unpleasant with her, Lyla slowly but surely manages to get closer to this grumpy single father who is also beginning to think that he could consider another life.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I enjoyed this story it was quick and sweet.
