Ash Colby wants nothing more than to free himself of the man who broke his heart the night he turned seventeen. But when Luke Rutherford, his former guardian and heir of Rutherford Industries, forces him to move from his quiet college life in Stanford to the other side of the world, Ash snaps and decides to confront Luke about their past.
Luke has loved Ash since he was a child and been in love with him for over half a decade. Having protected Ash from the woman who wanted to hurt the young Colby heir in the past, Luke must act swiftly in order to keep Ash safe from harm once more. But when his bold move backfires on him, Luke must face the consequences of the decision he took on the night Ash turned seventeen.
Will Ash forgive Luke when he discovers the truth behind the terrible act he witnessed five years ago? And as the walls Luke had erected to protect Ash from his lust come crumbling down around him, will he overcome his guilty conscience and finally admit his true feelings for Ash?

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 4 in the Nights series. You don’t NEED to have read the other three before one, because only Cam makes a brief appearance. But you SHOULD read them, because, I made a new shelf for them and everything! The other three books are down and dirty, and they take no prisoners or make no apologies for that.
This one, I found, while still hot and steamy, and it does have a great back story to why Ash was shipped first to Stanford and then to Singapore, it just didn’t quite hit THAT spot, you know?? And it pains me, because I love this series!!
Both Ash and Luke have their say, so we get it all from both sides. We get what Ash thought he saw, that fateful night 5 years ago, and we get what really happened from Luke, and how he afterwards that caused him to push Ash away.
But these two admit their feelings to each other?? It’s almost like Cam and Gabe all over again, cos this takes place over one evening into the next morning, and these guys get down and dirty and I loved that their first time together was extra special.
There isn’t a HEA, but there is a Happy For Now. I have the next book to read soon, so we shall get their happy ever after.
Because it doesn’t quite hit THAT spot,

While not my overall favourite of the Night Series novellas this was still an enjoyable read.
Set away from the Soren nightclub gang; this is only loosely connected to that world, with Cam making a brief appearance at the beginning when he visits Luke for business; I did feel this was mainly included to adhere this to the rest of the actual series and not for any added value Cam brought to this story.
It was so brief if you blinked you could have actually missed it.
Although the phone call here for Cam from his boys back home; did make me chuckle.
So “Sweet Obsession” (Night Series #4) tells the story of Luke and Ash; each has been in love with the other for years but because of a series of misunderstandings and Ash’s actual age these two are like a modern Romeo and Juliet; Oh except they don’t die at the end and there’s actually nothing tragic in their story at all; scrap that the only thing in common these two have with Shakespeares doomed lovers is the fact that they are star-crossed that is it period.
This is all about the smooching and the sex with just a smidgen of angst (and I mean Teensy).
look this does what it says on the tin it’s pulsating hot antics will get you steaming under the collar and ready for some sexy shenanigans all of your own.
This is dirty but also achingly sweet as well; there’s a touch of the taboo here also with Luke watching Ash grow up; don’t mistake me everyone’s of age here; I think Ash is Twenty-two and Luke fourteen years older which would make him thirty-six.
Luke is also Ash’s former guardian so that also adds to the overall dynamic portrayed here.
This was a short but enjoyable read and the only reason ive marked it down slightly is that I enjoyed the previous novella a bit more. Mainly because it had the added bonus of all my old friends in it as well.
I want Rhyss and Wade’s story like so so much sigh.
One slight observation before I toddle off; I’m agog at the staying power of these boys; like seriously impressed it’s like its a superpower or something.
How many times can they come in one night; there like the bleeding energiser bunny on steroids.
I’m exhausted just reading about there Olympic standard bedroom bonking.
So there you go a sexy short adventure just waiting to be devoured.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC copy of “Sweet Obsession (Nights Series #4)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Sweet Obsession is steamy hot scenes held together by a somewhat flimsy backbone of story. At only 101 pages, it barely reaches novella length, but the story told is wrapped up nicely without feeling rushed.
The sexual tension between Ash and Luke is well-written and believable, and the fireworks of their sexual gratification is hot enough to leave you wanting a fan. The introduction is a little slow, but once the sexy-time train gets started, it doesn’t really stop.
If you’re into erotica, this is definitely a book worth picking up.
