“Sweet Liar captivated me from start to finish! Dylan Locke is a must have in your book boyfriend collection!” Jana Aston, NYT Bestselling AuthorBritish ad exec Dylan Locke isn’t looking for love. He isn’t looking for fate. He’s definitely not looking for Audrey Lind. She’s pretty, far too young, and overly romantic–in short, exhausting. But when the girl, young enough to be his daughter, … his daughter, literally lands in his lap and asks for his expertise, he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t interested. In her body, in her innocence, in her philosophy.
In the kind of kismet that starts with kisses.
But Audrey isn’t looking for love either–she’s looking for lessons, and she’s certain Dylan knows everything she needs to learn.
If he agrees to play the teacher can he keep his heart?
Of course he can.
Then again, he might be lying.

Laurelin Paige is one of my very favorite authors and I’ve pretty much devoured everything she’s written but I have to say that the Dirty universe is my favorite. Of course Donovan is my number one 1 man but ever since was introduced to Dylan and Audrey in Dirty Filthy Rich Love, I was intrigued by their story.
To be honest, Sweet Liar was a little bit shorter than I expected. But rest assured, it is still fully packed with that unmistakable Laurelin Paige flavour. Even though, Dylan and Audrey’s story is not as dirty and heartbreaking as Donovan and Sabrina’s or as sexy and complicated as Weston and Elizabeth’s, there is still more than enough sweet sinful pleasure to go around. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t heartbreaking moments or scenes after which you will need to cool down your libido 😀 There is more than enough of that. But there is also a kind of tenderness and hope. Hope for healing a broken heart, hope that kismet and love will win in the end. Simply hope that two souls destined to be together will find their way to each other.
In short, this is a beautiful story that will make you swoon because let’s face it, Dylan is one sexy British devil 😀 But it will also make you shed a tear or two for the past he had to live through. And hope beyond hope that Audrey will find the way to his heart and show him that it’s worth giving love a second shot. But be prepared. As this is the first part of the duet, there is no happy ending. Thankfully, the second part comes out quite soon so I won’t have to wait long 😉
I voluntarily listened and reviewed an advanced audio copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Abso-bloody-lutely Fantastic!!
5 Brilliant Stars!!
Sweet Liar is beautifully well-written, and strickingly amazing. FLAWLESS!!
This story is deliciously amazing, easy to read, easy to connect with the characters, fun, but with the regular drama and angst that gave this story the perfect balance in the emotional side of the story. OMG, I freaking loved it!
There is no cheating from Dylan or Audrey, just two souls with a different view of life, besides their age difference. One had sworn off love for good after his fail marriage; the other, not looking for love but for some serious training on the love making area. Nevertheless, she does believes in fate and since according to her, fate put Dylan on her way, Dylan Locke must be the one to teach her. (OMG, I love this fantastic couple).
Sweet Liar is definitively a sweet addiction so sexy, passionate, alluring and humorous at times, that will have you begging for more! I just can’t wait for Sweet Fate. OMG – OMG – OMG!!
OMG, AND THE AUDIBLE VERSION OF IT, IS TO DIE FOR!! Don’t think twice, grab your copy asap!!

Dylan Locke the enigma of Reach Inc. Only he isn’t as much of an enigma as we were led to believe in previous instalments. A real man with depth and layers, onion comes to mind when experiencing the facets of Dylan’s personal trauma and heartache.
‘…she was incorrect about my ability to restrain myself. I was a beast without a leash. I had no will but to devour her.’
Sweet Liars timeline runs concurrently with the Dirty Duet, which if you had the privilege of reading, featured Audrey’s sister Sabrina. One who tried to forget her coloured predilections, whilst the other runs towards them with open arms and an eager look in her eyes.
‘I’d expected banging and dirty talk, sneaking away to meet up for something sordid and naughty. That wasn’t what this had turned out to be at all. This was heartfelt conversations and seeing a magnificent man trying his best with his son. This was human and sweet and real, and I’d be lying to myself to say it didn’t change everything.’
For Dylan, things aren’t as black and white as they are for Audrey. She’s just starting her life and he is in a position where he feels he’s peaked and is heading downhill.
‘I was a dirty old man in contrast. A man with scars worn on my aging skin and wounds that ran deeper, unseen by the naked eye. A man who knew better than to believe that sex with a woman like Audrey could ever be casual.
A man who could still crawl to shore if he tried, but didn’t have the willpower to do anything except sink.’
Several crossover scenes unfold whilst we follow Dylan and Audrey through their story. Both Donovan and Sabrina are on the page. Which of course makes sense, there is no Audrey without her big sister and Donovan is very much the image of Reach Inc., even if he does most of his puppeteering from the background. Audrey is as tempting to Dylan as chocolate cake is to me. She knows what she wants and is willing to play him at his own game to get him there. Nothing wrong with a little side bet about it after all. Having one’s world peeled open with new experiences is as addictive as any illegal drug.
Sweet Liar is a short read that can be read in one sitting. Encompassing all the very best of this author’s abilities, always leaving you craving more. Ms. Paige has a knack for creating strong characters; especially of the female persuasion. Soft but strong. Unsure but tough. Stories where men are not closed off Neanderthals but are real honest human beings. The end of this book was left with ample uncertainty for the future, and I for one cannot wait to see how the follow-up goes. Thank you wonderful author for another dose of heavy heat with meaningful content and well-formed characters. Fantastic!!!
Laurelin Paige has written so many wonderful books, and this book is no different. I love the story line of a younger female character with an older male character. This type of relationship is not often done and when it is, it’s not done well. Laurelin nails it and I can’t wait for part 2.
Am I screaming or am I screaming!?!?!?!!
Dylan Locke is too old, too dirty, too jaded for Audrey Lind. She’s young, spirited and believes in the absurd notion of true love. But temptations are dangerous specially when they come in the form of innocent and beautiful little girls who demand to be disciplined. Can Dylan resist her? Or is karma really a bitch?
I don’t think I have panted through a book so much as much as I did in this. I was legit devouring word after word and still hungering for more because this book is written as a delicious temptation that leaves you satisfied yet still wanting.
I am honestly in desperate love with Dylan and I don’t know what to do with all these feelings because this man is already gone for Audrey and well he’s fictional too but mehh that rarely matters.
I think I have the hots for Audrey because this woman can bring down nations with a smile and I’d honestly help her without question.
There are obviously so many complications and this story is already so entangled and investing, I can’t wait for the next installment. It’s going to be noteworthy.
I received an advanced copy in exchange for a completely honest and unbiased review. Sweet Liar is the firs book in the Dirty Sweet Series and is about Dylan and Audrey. OMG it is freaking hot, hot hot. Dylan is an older distinguished gentleman who tries extremely hard not to fall for or get tangled up with Audrey. I love this book and highly recommend reading it. I can not wait for book two to come out 🙂
Oh the sizzle…
Dylan and Audrey were locked in an adventure they could not resist taking and I was happily along for the ride!
From the moment they met, their strong chemistry battled all the reasons they shouldn’t be together. There were quite a few. Audrey was young, innocent but not pure, and ready to take her sexuality to the next level. When Dylan, a handsome, experienced man who rang all her bells, crossed her path she boldly reached out to him. She asked for help but offered so much in return… Dylan was determined not to cave to the desire he felt but her honesty, beauty and infectious personality became impossible to turn away from…
This was steamy and smexy involving intriguing, likable characters. It was a whirlwind of events that should have seemed unbelievable but didn’t. Instead, it all felt right. Perfectly paced and with just the right amount of angst and push and pull. Theirs was a web of passion but also of life, where each other’s circumstances played heavily into the relationship they seemed destined to begin. Whether short-term, or more, is yet to be answered, I am totally invested in the outcome!
There is a cliffy but rather than throwing my kindle I’m cradling it close, waiting for the rest of Dylan and Audrey’s story to land!
*I joyfully reviewed this book
Sweet Liar by Laurelin Paige
is book 1 in the Dirty Sweet duet.
Dylan is a sexy successful ad executive. And is in no way looking for a relationship. A divorced dad who has a teenage son to help raise. His son, and his work are his priorities, that is until he meets Audrey, who just happens to be a lot younger then Dylan.
Audrey, while much younger then Dylan is immediately attracted to the sexy, smoking hot Dylan. Audrey feels Dylan can teach her some experience with sex. Show her how it’s truly done. And she tempts him at every turn!
I really LOVED these two characters! Dylan is so swoon-worthy, I mean hello, he is British! But he’s also very alpha male, and a caring father. Audrey is sassy and feisty! She complements Dylan’s personality perfectly!
I can’t wait for Sweet Fate, to see how their story plays out!
Once again Laurelin draws us in with her brilliant story telling skills. In Sweet Liar we have 43 year old Dylan Locke, and 23 year old Audrey Lind. They find themselves drawn to each other, but to Dylan, Audrey is too sweet, too innocent and too good for the likes of his cold heart. He knows he shouldn’t want her. He should care that he could destroy her heart. He’s slowly being worn down by her though. He just needs to figure out if it’ll be worth the inevitable pain. He doesn’t trust women anymore, but just maybe Audrey can be the exception.
4 STARS
Sweet Liar is such a tease…I want more Dylan and Audrey! This is a super short and sweet MUST read! Audrey Lind is an idealistic romantic at heart. She’s the girl that believes in kismet and when she meets Dylan Locke, hopes to convince the bitter, jaded older man that it is real.
There is a 19 year age gap between Audrey and Dylan. But that stops neither of them from acting on their desires. Audrey thinks she can fulfil her carnal needs and learn what she likes sexually without falling in love.
“My dirty professor was a man. Someone who knew exactly what to do with a woman.”
What Audrey soon realizes is that it’s easier said than done.
“So here I was now. Walking the edge. Trying with all my might not to panic and look down. Knowing there was only one sure way to stay safe. Knowing if I didn’t turn and walk away, I’d fall.”
Who will be left pining…Audrey or Dylan? You must read this first book in the Duet to find out.
Thank you to the author and Candi Kane PR for kindly providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Sweet Liar by Laurelin Paige will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ELITE!
The story of Dylan and Audrey was a quick one to read. In fact I was finished in one sitting. The tug and pull between the characters grabbed my attention from the start, and kept a hold of it till the last page. Actually I was shocked when I came upon the last page and found tarot was ending on a cliffhanger. Luckily I am one of those readers that’s OK with a cliffy, if it’s done right. And this cliffy was done the right way. It left you wanting more, and wanting to get your hands on this couples conclusion.

Please read the first books in this series/duets first if you haven’t yet! They all basically happen at the same time!
We all remember Dylan from the previous books – he’s the guys’ London partner – a bit older and a bit more mature and quiet and the father of a 13 year old boy. And he’s definitely not in the market for a young and sexy girl.
Which Audrey is.
She’s the sister of Donovan’s Sabrina.
Dylan is mega attracted, but he could be her father!!!!
But Audrey is not scared off easily – she wants Dylan! She wants him to teach her all there is to know about bedroom business!
Let the fun times begin!
What will happen with Audrey & Dylan?
Will we get a Happy End??
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!
ok – we might not yet get that happy end – it’s a duet – book #2 will be here soon!
Well, that was adorable and sexy and … pretty short.
I don’t understand why these two short books had to be TWO books?!?! One book would’ve been enough! BUT, we don’t have to wait too long for book #2!
I don’t like huge age-gap romances. Eight years is kinda my limit. I have NO idea why this was the FOURTH age-gap romance I’ve read this year! THIS YEAR!!!! … it’s only february 3rd!!!! So very weird. And the Dylan-Audrey age gap is 19 years! Oy! That’s really a lot.
But I was kind of okay with it here. Dylan needs Audrey in his life. He’s so serious and grumpy and he needs her for himself and to help him understand his son.
I liked reading this story. It was really adorable and fun and sexy – and we don’t have a bad cliffy! Can’t wait to see what book 2 will have in store for us!
SWEET LIAR was a sexy and adorable age-gap romance! Can’t wait to see how their love story will end in SWEET FATE! Hurry to your nearest amazon – Dylan will be sold out in no time!
is the first book in the by Laurelin Page. Laurelin Page is sometimes hit or miss for me. I’ve read books that I’ve felt were absolute masterpieces and others that aren’t for me at all.
features British ad exec Dylan Lock who is partners with Donovan Kincaid from . The heroine in this novel, Audrey Lind is Sabrina Lind, from ‘s younger sister. Sabrina practically raised Audrey.
Audrey meets Dylan because he is her sister’s boss. He’s also older than her. 19 years older makes for one hell of a sexy age gap Obviously one of my favorite parts of this duet was the age gap trope. Dylan is attracted to Audrey but doesn’t want to get involved with her due to her age and relation to Sabrina.
Audrey is sassy, young, a spitfire and speaks her mind. I loved Audrey’s confident and outgoing personality. It meshed well with Dylan’s quiet, reserved, calm personality.
Dylan is back and forth between London and NYC because he has younger son from a pervious marriage whom he shares custody with. Because Dylan went through such a tumultuous divorce, he never wants to be in another relationship…ever. Even though his friends want him to live more. Since Audrey, who is in grad school lives in NYC, it’s the perfect situation for Audrey to have a fling with the hot older man she can’t get out of her head since meeting him.
Audrey and Dylan’s relationship is heartfelt, sweet, and adorable. Their age difference comes up often but it’s not a deterrent to the steam. This book was really different. The concept was unique. Dylan is kind and treats Audrey with care. I loved that. it’s nice to see a gentleman every so often in the midst of all these anti-heroes.
These two fight their feelings and between the two novels, manage to finally get it together. There aren’t any triggers in this book.
Really good Daddy kink
I just wish they would have not been as well developed. Don’t give me details and character background, give me more sex. Cause dude, my bell got rung. She knows. She knows how good it is to be with someone who has done it all. Yes he was well endowed but, he had her and me twisted. The only thing that would have made it hotter would have been if he dirty talked. Cause the sex was from his perspective and if he’d have said the stuff he thought, but better, out loud–chef’s kiss.
I’ve now read most of the books in this series/universe.
Loved reading it!
Such a cute book! When I started this I wasn’t sure but I ended up loving this book. The characters are well written and really draw you in. I even laughed out loud at times!
I really love this jaded older man and effervescent younger woman romance. It makes you wonder which one is the SWEET LIAR as the story goes on.
There are all kinds of twists like the ex-wife, the son, and the fact that Dylan lives in London, but we are left with a twinge of hope in the cliffhanger.
I’m sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 3 because it didn’t grab my interest.
I enjoyed book one in the Sweet book series. Dylan is older, sexy, experienced and jaded from a marriage that failed years ago. He has a teenage son and an ex wife who enjoys hurting him at every opportuniity. Audrey is the sister of another character from the Dirty Duet series. She’s a lot younger than Dylan, but is drawn to him, as he is to her. She believes in love, he doesn’t. There is really only one way this can go, it would seem. She wants him to educate her, but how can there be any future for these two? I can’t wait to get onto book 2 in the series to find out.
